December 6, 2017, a world-changing day

God is smiling today as President Trump (making good on what the United States has been promising to do for 22 years) officially recognized His Holy City Jerusalem as Israel’s capital… Halleluiah!

A Momentous Day: Jewish Leaders and Israel Advocates Respond to Trump Announcement on Jerusalem ~

“Today, nearly seventy years after the founding of the modern State of Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people, the United States has officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Since 1949 the seat of Israel’s government has been in Jerusalem. This historic change in US policy rights a longstanding injustice.”

Added: Why Trump is right in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital ~ Excellent defense from Alan Dershowitz ~

President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is a perfect response to President Obama’s benighted decision to change American policy by engineering the United Nations Security Council resolution declaring Judaism’s holiest places in Jerusalem to be occupied territory and a “flagrant violation under international law.” […]

(I)f there is any change to the status quo, let the blame lie where it should be: at the hands of President Obama for his cowardly decision to wait until he was a lame-duck president to get even with Prime Minister Netanyahu. President Trump deserves praise for restoring balance in negotiations with Israel and the Palestinians. It was President Obama who made peace more difficult. It was President Trump who made it more feasible again.

Trump undoes Obama’s land grab in Utah

Oh dear, progressives are apoplectic again: In an unprecedented action, Trump dramatically shrinks two national monuments in Utah ~

“You know how best to take care of your land,” the president said to a large audience at the Utah state Capitol. “You know best how to conserve this land for generations.”

Calling the designation of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments an abuse of federal authority and the work of “distant bureaucrats,” the president added: “I’ve come to Utah to reverse federal overreach and restore the rights to this land to your citizens.”

No wonder the Left is distraught, “federal overreach” is a key plank in the Democrat party platform. And “unprecedented action” was exactly what Barack Obama engaged in last year with one foot out the White House door. Taking advantage of the Antiquities Act (which Teddy Roosevelt signed into law in 1906 to help prevent the looting of archaeological and Native American structures and objects) to cater to special interest groups, he arbitrarily grabbed nearly 2 million acres in Utah to create Bears Ears National Monument. (His Democrat predecessor, Bill Clinton, did the same in 1996 with the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.)

FederalPublicLands

Were it up to the Left, the Federal government – like communists the
world over – would own every acre of the country.

President Trump’s action is based on Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s recommendation to give most of the land back to Utahans ~

The proclamations Trump signed reduce the 1.9 million-acre Grand Staircase-Escalante monument to 1,006,341 acres, while Bears Ears, which was 1.35 million acres, will shrink to 228,784 acres.

With typical progressive hyperbole, Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, said the president’s action was a disgrace ~

Suh called it “a travesty” that Trump was “trying to unravel a century’s worth of conservation history — all behind closed doors,” adding: “The American people want these special places protected.”

Suh is being more than a little disingenuous. First of all, it was hardly “behind closed doors.” The Interior Secretary spent months visiting various national monuments, getting input from those directly impacted by the land designations. Further, while the American people do want these places protected, there’s no reason that can’t be accomplished at the local level.

At a rally on Saturday, December 2nd, Bruce Adams, a commissioner of San Juan County (where Bears Ears is located) had this to say about local sentiment ~

The Administration was very, very intent on listening to local voices when talking about the Monument. I couldn’t more happy than to hear those words from the Administration, that they were wanting to listen to the local voices… There were so many NGO’s and so many organizations that have big money from all over the United States that wanted to influence the designation of that monument, that it just blew it completely out of proportion.

Once again, it’s been the people vs. the propaganda. As Marjorie Haun at Free Range Report explained ~

Trump’s decision comes after about eight months of careful consideration by Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who was tasked with reviewing all national monuments created by presidents using the Antiquities Act since 1996.

Bears Ears (1.4 million acres), created by Obama on December 28, 2016, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante (1.9 million acres), created by Clinton in a nod to green donors and Indonesian friends with clean coal interests in 1996, have been by far the most controversial and bitterly disputed.

Strong opposition from the locals living in communities impacted by the massive monuments have had a significant impact on Zinke’s assessment. And, the same locals believe the President’s Monday announcement will bring them much-needed relief from the economic hardships which have accompanied these restrictive federal designations.

BearsEarslLand2
Rebecca Benally, a Navajo and another commissioner of San Juan County is certainly grateful for the president’s reversal of the monument designation ~

“When Bears Ears was designated, it was disheartening for my community. It was insulting that bureaucrats thousands of miles away didn’t believe we were capable of protecting our land.”

There is no compelling reason why the federal government should control so much land in Utah (- or any other western state for that matter. Look at that map again!). President Trump did the right thing in returning this land to Utahans. Conservation, and responsible stewardship of the area can and should be done at a state and local level.

Supremes uphold Trump terrorist ban

It’s taken the better part of the year, but it’s finally official; Supreme Court permits full enforcement of Trump travel ban ~

terroristcitizens-smlr

Handing the White House a huge judicial victory, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled in favor of President Trump’s travel ban affecting residents of six majority-Muslim countries.

The justices said the policy can take full effect despite multiple legal challenges against it that haven’t yet made their way through the legal system.

The ban applies to people from Syria, Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia and Yemen […]

White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley called the ban “lawful and essential to protecting our homeland.”

And just like that – America became a safer place. Because, like I said ten months ago: Don’t be duped – it’s not a “Muslim Ban” – it’s a terrorist ban ~

(T)he federal government is well within its authority to restrict immigration into the United States – unless we’ve decided to abrogate sovereignty altogether.

Good to know the Supreme Court agrees that the Constitution actually gives the president the authority to protect this country from the threat of Islamic terrorism isn’t it? 🙄

To bake or not to bake; freedom from coercion?

This week in Washington D.C. a critically important case is set to commence, the outcome of which will be pivotal. In the next few months we’ll learn whether the Supreme Court will reaffirm our rights under the First Amendment – or side with the Gaystapo.

MasterpieceCake1Tomorrow, the top court will begin hearing arguments in the Jack Phillips’ case. Alliance Defending Freedom is representing Jack and his Colorado bake shop. Here are the basics ~

Jack is a Christian cake artist and owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado. One summer afternoon two men came into his shop asking him to design a wedding cake for their same-sex wedding. Jack politely declined, just as he would have done in response to a request for a Halloween cake, an anti-American cake, a racist cake, or even a cake celebrating a divorce.

Jack’s view of marriage, shaped by the Bible, would not allow him to use his artistic talents to celebrate an event in conflict with that view. But he did offer to sell them anything else in his shop or to design a cake for a different event instead. The offer to serve them in another way – a way that does not violate his conscience – was not enough. Later, the couple came back to picket his cakeshop and then sued him. The case has been ongoing for the past five years.

Why not just go to another bakery? Because there’s an agenda to push. Not only are we Christians (- and one would presume Muslims as well – though oddly enough they’re never targeted…) not allowed to be critical of homosexual marriage, we must publicly affirm it – even though God says it’s sinful.

In a recent article, Why the Masterpiece Cake Case Matters to All Americans, Dr. Michael Brown lays out some specifics, explaining why the Supremes should find in Phillips’ favor ~

The Alliance Defending Freedom, which is defending Phillips, has pointed out that:
1. “Jack does not discriminate,” and he was perfectly happy to sell the gay couple, who subsequently took him to court, cookies and brownies and anything else pre-made off of his shelves;
2. “Jack has turned down other cakes in the past,” including Halloween cakes and lewd cakes;
3. “Jack has faced anti-religious bigotry as well as threats and intimidation simply because he declined to promote an event,” so he is the one being singled out for unfair treatment;
4. “Jack owns a private family business, and he doesn’t give up his rights when he sells his art,” and by calling his business “Masterpiece Cakes,” he is making clear that for him, they are works of art;
5. Accordingly, “Jack’s shop has been called an ‘art gallery of cakes’’;
6. ‘Wedding cakes made up about 40 percent of Jack’s business,’ and these are all custom designed. But due to Colorado’s laws and legal rulings to date, he has had to drop this part of his business entirely […]

MasterpieceCake2In the days ahead, many on the left will argue that Phillips was guilty of discriminating against gay customers. But that is a complete misrepresentation of the facts, and if the Supreme Court finds him guilty, the implications for America will be massive.

It will mean that the highest court in the land has ruled that, in virtually all conceivable cases, gay rights trump religious rights. And it will mean that Christians in particular can be forced to violate their consciences and their deeply held, historic beliefs under penalty of law, with the real potential of losing their very livelihoods. And should they still refuse to comply, it could mean a jail sentence too.

george-washington_prayer

Amendment I ~

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the United States, it’s rightly understood that a business owner can’t refuse service on the basis of skin color, religion or sexual orientation. But can we still refuse to serve an agenda? Or is our faith no longer a matter for consideration? Don’t we need to amend the Constitution if we’re going full totalitarian?
Brown and others are correct; the outcome of this case could not be any more consequential. Ultimately, this Supreme Court will determine whether or not freedom of religion still exists in America.
Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which Thy Son, Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility;
that in the last day, when He shall come again in His glorious Majesty, to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal;
through Him who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. ~ Amen
Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:
Norway’s tough-love approach to the refugee crisis ~ Why Sweden’s in crisis, and Norway isn’t; compassionate common sense ~
The Norwegian model, (Sylvi Listhaug, Norway’s immigration minister) says, is very different (than Sweden’s) and very clear. “If you are an economic migrant, you are declined in Norway,” she says. “We send people back to Afghanistan if they are not in need of protection; we send them back to Somalia if they are not in need of protection.” Isn’t this a rather expensive process? “Yes, but it’s well worth it.” Police are also sent out to areas where illegal immigrants are suspected of living and working. “If we find them, we send them out. That has also decreased crime in Norway, that’s very good.”
Major Advertisers Flee YouTube Over Videos Exploiting Children ~ A welcome development. YouTube has been trying to marginalize conservative video channels for months. It’s about time they went after really offensive stuff ~
Several major advertisers have said they will suspend advertising campaigns on YouTube after their ads were found displayed with videos that had racked up millions of views by depicting children in threatening or compromising situations. Many of those viewing and commenting on the videos have been described as pedophiles […]
The videos were highlighted early last week in a BuzzFeed report which described a “vast, disturbing, and wildly popular universe of videos” that included live-action footage of children depicted in threatening situations or in bedclothes. YouTube responded by taking down many videos and announcing that it would enforce community guidelines more strictly.
UK: Church bells that have rung since 1779 silenced after noise complaint ~ Wouldn’t want to offend a less peaceful religion ~
She Said A Powerful Congressman Harassed Her. Here’s Why You Didn’t Hear Her Story ~ The scoop on Rep. John Conyers, why he should have been booted years ago and unfortunately, why he’s just one of many similar swamp creatures ~
Last week the Washington Post reported that Congress’s Office of Compliance paid out $17 million for 264 settlements with federal employees over 20 years for various violations, including sexual harassment. The Conyers documents, however, give a glimpse into the inner workings of the office, which has for decades concealed episodes of sexual abuse by powerful political figures.
NFL Bankrolls The Resistance to Trump ~ Just the latest installment in the NFL #TakeAKnee debacle. This week Commissioner Roger Goodell announced a new initiative: A $100 million fund to appease America-hating players while sticking the knife in patriotic fans ~
The dying National Football League is choosing its America-hating, national anthem-protesting multimillionaire players over patriotic sports fans by funneling close to $100 million to leftist charities like those founded by admitted communist Van Jones […]
The NFL plan suggests the league believes undermining the foundations of the republic is a potentially profitable enterprise. They are not mistaken, as Hollywood has been proving for decades.[…]
The NFL could save everyone a lot of money by simply ordering all teams to burn American flags ritualistically at the beginning of every game. The desired effect on society would be comparably deleterious and the saved money could be used to lower ticket prices for the league’s fan base which at that point would be shrinking at a dramatically accelerated pace.
It took a village to #FreeJustina from the nightmare of medical kidnapping ~ In February 2013, the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and Boston Children’s Hospital essentially kidnapped Justina Pelletier from her family insisting that she had a psychiatric disorder, not the mitochondrial disease for which she had originally been treated. Her parents were excluded from any decisions about her care – for 16 months ~
The Pelletiers have continued to tell their story to raise awareness of medical kidnappings. They have also filed suit against BCH. This month, “Michelle Malkin Investigates” has made the Pelletiers’ fight the focus of a two-part series on medical kidnapping.
Dems do no good when they kick Hispanic Republicans to curb ~ Liberals love minorities – unless they’re conservatives. Don’t stray off the Leftist reservation ~
If you don’t believe in handouts, then you’re not Hispanic, says the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. By rejecting Republican Rep. Abortions in the United States Hit an All-Time Low, More Babies Saved From Abortion Than Ever ~ Good news!
Abortion rates have been dropping steadily in the past decade as pro-lifers worked to pass a historic number of pro-life laws in states across the country. San Fran’s lawless sanctuary
In this week’s episode of “Disorder in the Court,”
we discover that if you’re an illegal alien in San Francisco, shooting
and killing a random young woman is not a crime ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Seriously. Could this verdict be any more egregious? Jose Ines Garcia Zarate – in the country illegally – deported at least five times – the man who shot and killed Kate Steinle two years ago – was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges yesterday by a San Francisco jury.

Here are the basics via Conservative Review ~

On July 1, 2015, the 32-year-old Steinle was shot in the back on Pier 14 in San Francisco while she was walking with her father. No one denies that Zarate shot her, but he claimed that he found a handgun wrapped in a T-shirt under a bench on the pier and that it fired accidentally as he tried to extract it.

Zarate was found not guilty of murder and not guilty of the lesser charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon. He was convicted of illegally possessing a firearm, a sentence that carries up to three years. Federal immigration officials have stated that Zarate will be deported for a sixth time after he serves jail time.

Despite the fact that federal immigration authorities had wanted Zarante detained after the last time he was arrested (on drug charges), San Francisco’s sanctuary city polices allowed for his release. So he was free to wander around Pier 14 in July 2015, “find” a gun, and kill an innocent young woman.

kateSteinle
In the wake of Steinle’s death, “Kate’s Law” was introduced into Congress, legislation which would which would increase penalties for those who attempt to re-enter the country after deportation, as Zarate did. This should be a slam dunk ~

Every American with common sense understands that cities do not have the right to lawlessly nullify immigration law and endanger Americans. And someone who enters the United States illegally and commits crimes should be deported and never allowed back.

Instead, Kate’s Law is stalled in the hallowed halls of Congress, and…

Funding for border security is hotly contested, as Congress debates extending current government spending levels through Dec. 22 to avoid government shutdown. Meanwhile, some Republicans are instead working to include a deal for DACA amnesty in the spending bill to be passed before the end of this year.

And in California, “Sanctuary City” now means if you’re an illegal (that is you broke our laws just by being here) you’re free to ignore all the rest of our laws as well. As Lloyd Billingsley at FrontPage Mag put it ~

Garcia Zarate has already proved five times that anybody can get away with violating U.S. immigration law. He has already proved that in the sanctuary state of California, false-documented illegals are a privileged class.

Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, or whatever his real name is, has also proved that a career criminal who is not even supposed to be in the country can literally get away with murder in broad daylight.

For that we can thank our elite ruling class. The rights of illegals now trump the fundamental right to life that American citizens used to possess.

Rule by one man: Judge declares sanctuary cities ‘law of the land’ ~ Just two weeks ago ~

Amidst a slew of liberal judges imposing nationwide preliminary injunctions on DOJ’s policy of curtailing federal law enforcement grants to sanctuary cities, a San Francisco judge has now implemented a permanent block […]

Being a federal judge is an amazing job, especially if you don’t believe in law and the Constitution.

According to our prevailing, albeit erroneous, conception of the judiciary, a liberal judge can grant standing to a plaintiff on any political matter; unilaterally serve as a legislature or executive veto on broad-based policy; apply the ruling nationwide; overturn 200 years of precedent, the Constitution, and statute; and have the new decision be regarded as sacred precedent, and then never stand for reelection.

The RAISE Act – immigration reform the Founders would endorse

Desperately aiming for a way around President Trump’s termination of DACA, which will officially end in March 2018, liberals are aggressively trying to push some sort of amnesty through before January 1st ~

Democrats are threatening to shut down the government if so-called “Dreamers” aren’t given a “pathway to citizenship” in the end-of-year spending bill Congress must pass in early December.

The thing is, President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was never constitutional. He had no authority to arbitrarily re-write immigration law, as Attorney General Jeff Sessions pointed out earlier this month ~

Sessions-endofDACA

In a speech to the Federalist Society, Sessions — a pioneer of the immigration in the national interest movement — blasted the Obama administration’s creation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that has given temporary amnesty to nearly 800,000 illegal aliens […]

“Under DACA—without the consent of Congress—individuals here illegally who met certain criteria were granted not only lawful presence but work authorization, and the right to participate in Social Security, which unlawful immigrants are not entitled to have,”
Sessions continued. “So no matter what one thinks about the immigration issues and policy, it cannot be defended in my opinion lawfully.”

Rather than argue with the open borders progressives, or worse – cave in to their emotional appeals for the poor “Dreamers” – Congress could actively pursue some meaningful immigration legislation like, for instance, the RAISE Act, introduced by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-MO) and Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) last February. RAISE stands for Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy. What a concept!

The proposed legislation correctly recognizes that the interests of Americans should come before the the interests of non-American immigrants. It represents a return to they way the United States has traditionally addressed immigration.

In September, Sen. Cotton spoke about immigration at Hillsdale College’s Eight Annual Constitution Day Celebration, explaining the founding fathers’ position on the issue ~

tomCotton

(W)hile the Declaration is of course a universal document, it’s also a particular document about one nation and one people. The founders pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to each other, in English, right here in America-not in Esperanto to mankind in the abstract.

The Constitution carries forward this concept of American citizenship. It includes only one reference to immigration, where it empowers Congress to “establish a uniform rule of naturalization.” […]

Just because you can become an American doesn’t mean you are an American. And it certainly doesn’t mean we must treat you as an American, especially if you don’t play by our rules.

After all, in our unique brand of nationalism, which connects our people through our ideas, repudiating our law is kind of like renouncing your blood ties in the monarchical lands of old. And what law is more fundamental to a political community than who gets to become a citizen, under what conditions, and when?

Here’s the key point – which progressives like to ignore ~

(A)mong the highest obligations we owe to each other is to ensure that every working American can lead a dignified life. If you look across our history, I’d argue that’s always been the purpose of our immigration system: to create conditions in which normal, hard-working Americans can thrive.

Look no further in fact than what James Madison said on the floor of the House of Representatives in 1790, when the first Congress was debating the very first naturalization law. He said, “It is no doubt very desirable that we should hold out as many inducements as possible for the worthy part of mankind to come and settle amongst us, and throw their fortunes into a common lot with ours.” The “worthy” part, not the entire world. Madison continued, “But why is this desirable? Not merely to swell the catalogue of people. No, sir, it is to increase the wealth and strength of the community.”

At the risk of sounding horribly callous, we don’t welcome immigrants into the country so we can give them free housing, food and college tuition. We welcome them here so they contribute to making America a better, more prosperous place. Gasp!

Our immigration system doesn’t exist to serve the interests of foreigners or wealthy Americans. No, our immigration ought to benefit working Americans and serve the national interest-that’s the purpose of immigration and the theme of the story of American immigration.

The RAISE Act, as National Review Online described it, is a carefully crafted, albeit limited, bill that would sharpen America’s immigration system so that it serves the American economy, favoring foreigners who have the most to contribute to our country.

Here’s how it would work ~

• Create a skills-based points system similar to Canada’s and Australia’s. When people apply to immigrate here, they’d be given an easy-to-calculate score, on a scale of 0 to 100, based on their education, age, job salary, investment ability, English-language skills, and any extraordinary achievements.

• Twice a year, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services would invite the top scorers to complete their applications, and it would invite enough high-scoring applicants to fill the current 140,000 annual employment-based green-card slots.

• End the diversity-visa lottery as well as the per-country caps on immigration [Recall, the Diversity Visa Program was the means by which Sayfullo Saipov, the Islamic terrorist who mowed down 8 people in NYC on Oct. 31st (injuring 11 more), entered the country]

• Cap the number of refugees offered permanent residency to 50,000 per year

Spouses and unmarried minor children of citizens and legal permanent residents would still be admitted, but we’d put an end to unlimited chain migration.

As Cotton summarized ~

Add it all up and our annual immigrant pool would be younger, higher-skilled, and ready to contribute to our economy without using welfare, as more than half of immigrant households do today. No longer would we distribute green cards essentially based on random chance, nor would we import millions of unskilled workers to take jobs from blue-collar Americans and undercut their wages. And over a 10-year period, our annual immigration levels would decrease by half, gradually returning to historical norms.

The RAISE Act is so equitable and common-sensical that most Americans would no doubt support it 100% – IF they ever actually heard it discussed openly and honestly. But considering the elitist mentality in the halls of Congress, they never will. (It’s been sitting in committee since shortly after it was introduced.) Instead, our esteemed leaders will fold like cheap lawn chairs and pass some form of amnesty without any sort of meaningful reform. And we-the-sheeple will get screwed once again.

Immigrants spark a European revival

crossinhandsI’ve spent hours blogging about the Islamic conquest of Europe over the last last few years (For example here, here, here, here and here). It seems that countries like Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden in particular, are either indifferent, or simply powerless to resist being overwhelmed by Muslim immigrants. So sadly, a culture that for centuries was once almost exclusively Christian – at least in its outlook and values if not in spirit – is rapidly being subsumed by Islam.

And yet, as this recent piece by Mindy Belz at World Magazine demonstrates, perhaps all hope is not lost ~ Immigrant-led churches may revive the Continent’s Reformation legacy. The article focuses on the growth of Christianity in Belgium ~

By 2000 Antwerp’s Protestant population hovered at 0.5 percent. Today Protestants represent 4.5 percent of the population, with the dramatic growth coming from immigrants […]

(W)hile immigration is giving Islam a beachhead, some immigrants are reviving churches that had turned to sandcastles before a high tide of atheism. “We hope for revival, but mostly it comes from the immigrant communities and their charismatic churches,” says Klaas Van der Zwaag, a Dutch journalist and author of the two-volume Reformation Today (deBanier, 2017).

Tyndale-Reformation
Belz focuses on a couple of growing Christian communities in Belgium, one in Vilvoode, a town that featured prominently in the original Reformation ~

Vilvoorde is a storied town, a suburb north of Brussels where authorities burned at the stake British scholar William Tyndale in 1536. The Reformation history written here, as in much of what was then part of the Netherlands, was overtaken by the Catholic resurgence of the Counter-Reformation. While the Dutch Reformed Church fueled the spread of Calvinist teaching and church life, real growth among Protestants in many parts of Western Europe today rises from other quarters—from Europe’s immigrant communities, primarily those where Islam dominates.

ArabChurchVilvoorde

less than a mile away from the site where William Tyndale was burned as a heretic.

Middle Eastern and African congregations across Europe, their numbers buoyed by a record 1.3 million migrants in 2015, outstrip in size and vitality more traditional Protestant churches. In Amsterdam, the majority of the city’s 350 churches are immigrant-led. In Vilvoorde the Arab congregation, though small, has larger gatherings than its Protestant counterparts. While Arab and African congregations in Belgium and the Netherlands are growing, the Dutch Reformed churches are becoming museums and concert halls, their teaching far removed from Biblical orthodoxy and their numbers dwindled.

One of the Arab Evangelical members shared this ~

“We come from old faith communities ourselves,” explained Samir, an Egyptian who asked that only his first name be used in print. “We believe our faith in Jesus Christ can reawaken European churches built before on faith in Jesus Christ alone.”

American History 101

“A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.”
~ Benjamin Franklin ~

This is an addendum to my last post, explaining why kids today don’t know much about history; they aren’t being taught the truth. Pretending that our entire country wasn’t founded on Christian principles isn’t doing anyone any favors. Schools need to get back to educating – not indoctrinating.

“(T)he only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican government.”

THIS is why America is doomed

Although it was created four years ago, I only recently ran across this video. It needs to go viral, because it exposes the widespread ignorance on today’s college campuses.

94 Maidens author, Rhonda Fink-Whitman, decided to interview Pennsylvania public school graduates who at the time were attending four different prestigious PA universities to find out what they knew about the Holocaust, WWII, and Genocide in general. Their responses are simply stunning!

Given the fragile nature of so many of these college “snowflakes” today, it’s unlikely that they’ll ever learn about the Holocaust. Any mention of the horrors committed by the Nazis (- not to mention the communists in the USSR, China, Cambodia…) would no doubt have them running to hug a teddy bear in one of their safe spaces.

And yet how can they possibly develop a coherent worldview when they’re so ignorant of history? They not only lack perspective – they lack facts. Scary stuff. The world will be a much darker place when this bewildered generation is in charge.

Fink-Whitman’s efforts are paying off. Here in Michigan, Governor Rick Snyder signed a bill last year that mandates Holocaust and genocide education in our state’s high schools. Similar legislation is being discussed in other states.
