Aretha’s pastor under fire for preaching God’s word

One of the few voices of sanity heard during the Aretha Franklin marathon funeral service last week was that of Pastor Jasper Williams. Unfortunately, he wasn’t a fan favorite. As we all know by now, traditional, old-fashioned values just don’t play well with today’s celebrity culture. Although Franklin had specifically requested that Williams deliver her eulogy, his remarks received – by far – the most criticism from our tolerant friends on the progressive left.

What was it that so offended them? Apparently the same thing he’s been saying for decades, along with men like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Ben Carson and Burgess Owens. In a nutshell: the Truth.

Here’s a brief description of the pastor’s sermon from Dr. Michael Brown ~

Pastor Williams spoke fearlessly and boldly, even speaking of “sin in the black community including black people killing black people, men not being in the home to help women raise the children, a lack of traditional, biblical marriage between a man and a woman … a lack of unity, and loss of economic power.

“Declaring that black America had lost its soul, he said, ‘Now is time for black America to come back home.’”

He even stated that, in a matter of months, blacks kill more blacks than whites killed blacks during the whole era of the Ku Klux Klan.

Standing by his original remarks, Pastor Williams graciously responded to the backlash in this press conference ~

Definitely worthwhile listening (although you can’t hear any of the questions being asked). William’s matter-of-fact conviction in God’s truth is reassuring.

The pastor’s key points were:

• Black lives will matter when blacks R.E.S.P.E.C.T. black lives.
• The devastation in black communities is in large part due to rejecting God and his values; a big part of the problem is broken families, and too many single moms trying to raise boys on their own.
• Solving the problems isn’t about getting more money. “We have to help ourselves; we can’t look to others to solve our problems.”

Words of timeless wisdom. Hopefully there were some in his audience last week for whom his message will ring true, and who will be motivated to help effect real hope and change in their communities.

Praying for POTUS

Almighty God, You are sovereign. You are Ordainer, Creator and Sustainer –
all of life is upheld by Your right hand. Today I pray for our nation’s leaders –
especially President Trump – trusting that You are in charge of all the happenings
of this world. Grant our leaders to fear You, to earnestly seek Your face, and to
walk in the knowledge of Jesus’ saving work. Change hard hearts and bless our
nation with trusting faith. Deliver us from evil. ~ Amen

Here’s a very encouraging article from James Robison, founder of The Stream ~ Prayer in the White House. Reading this timely reminder, I can’t help wondering what Donald Trump and his presidency might be like if this wasn’t happening!

It’s critical to remember that there’s a supernatural battle being waged behind the daily scenes of conflict that we’re witnessing ~

Before and after his election, this President not only asked all of us to pray for him, but to pray with him and to share our deep concerns for the well being and future of freedom and our great nation. We are seeing great progress. As He always does, God is using imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. We must give credit and glory to God for answered prayers and the healing of our land […]

pray4Trump
Anyone with spiritual sensitivity realizes that we are witnessing spiritual warfare at the highest levels. The screaming and yelling at the Judge Kavanaugh confirmation hearing is coming across like nothing short of demonic outrage. It sounds like something you would hear in an institution where people have to be restrained.

In the invisible realm of the Spirit, there are two fathers whose very nature prevails today: one is the father of lies, dissension, division, death and destruction; the other is the Creator who is the Father of life and truth and unshakable, rock-solid principles upon which we must build in order for our lives and futures to securely stand […]

Pray for the safety of our law enforcement officers and their families. Pray for our armed forces and their families. Pray for healing to continue. Don’t argue about individuals and personalities and throw darts at one another. Stop the nonsense, and pray for the Prince of Peace and His presence to prevail in our lives and in the land. Pray that we will have justices on every court that understand the Constitution and the principles of our founders.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Dems Turn to Debarred Convicted Felon as Star Witness in Futile Kavanaugh Fight ~ They’re really getting desperate – but since when has the Left ever been concerned with credibility? ~

Set to testify on Friday in opposition to Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court is John Dean, a convicted felon and disbarred lawyer who gained fame for flipping on former President Richard Nixon during Watergate.

Space-case whodunit: Did someone sabotage the International Space Station? ~ A small leak – not a tear, but a hole that had been drilled – was probably a quality control issue – the module was built by Russian company Energia ~

NASA has issued a statement of full confidence in Russia to complete their investigation and fix the problem. However, NASA and the Trump administration should seriously consider the implications of having to rely on Russia to get back and forth to the ISS. We need transport over which we can apply direct oversight and inspection, even if this just turns out to be a manufacturing fumble. It’s time to accelerate our efforts and develop an American option for manned space travel. Either we’re fully invested in a manned space program, or we need to stop pretending we are.

After all, this just happened last week ~ Russian Nuclear Bombers Intercepted Near Alaska ~ Some rather disconcerting news that didn’t make the mainstreams’ radar at all ~

Two Russian nuclear-capable bombers were intercepted by American F-22 jets near Alaska on Saturday, the North American Aerospace Defense Command disclosed.

The bombers were detected flying near the Aleutian Islands, said Michael Kucharek, a spokesman for the Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

“Clearly Russia is rehearsing a large-scale war,” Stephen Blank, senior fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council, said of the war games in a recent article in RealClear Defense.

“John McCain is real Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood” ~ Hmmm… Egyptian media personality makes a very interesting allegation ~

TV host Ahmed Moussa claimed that McCain, recognised in the US as a national war hero and longtime senator, was, in fact, the ‘real Supreme Guide’ of the Muslim Brotherhood.

“[McCain] was the main supporter for the terrorist Brotherhood,” he added. “Senator McCain was the one who opened up the Congress to the Brotherhood. He was the one arranging the meetings and appointments and providing them with protection.”

This isn’t outside the realm of possibility. As Robert Spencer points out ~

Remember that when Michele Bachmann called for an investigation into Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government, McCain denounced her on the Senate floor as a bigot and an Islamophobe. There was no investigation.

Nicaragua: Christians attacked, detained and killed as ‘enemies of the regime’ ~ Things appear to be going from bad-to-worse in Ortega’s socialist utopia; the tyrannical president just kicked the UN Commission for Human Rights out of the country ~

(F)ollowing the expulsion of the UN team anti-government protestors took to the streets again on Sunday (2 September). In the clashes with pro-government forces at least three more people were injured […]

On 23 August, the bodies of three men were found in Mozonte, 171 kms north of the capital Managua. Police said the men were all members of a gang and the violence was crime-related, reported national news site 100Noticias.

However, ABC local News identified one of the men as pastor Justo Emilio Rodiguez Moncada (35) of the evangelical Camino de Santidad church in Managua. The men were found with hands and feet tied and bullets in their head, making it look like an execution. Relatives say that the authorities only try to cover up the atrocities of the regime.

A couple days after Ortega booted the U.N. Human Rights group out of the country ~ Nikki Haley Leads U.N. Security Council Debate on Nicaragua ~

Haley, currently President of United Nations Security Council as part of its rotating leadership, originally had her proposal for a meeting on Nicaragua blocked by five other countries including China and Russia.

“The Security Council should not, it cannot, be a passive observer as Nicaragua continues to decline into a failed, corrupt and dictatorial state because we know where this path leads,” Haley said on Wednesday […]

In the past four months, at least 322 have died and thousands more left injured as a result of a government-sponsored crackdown against political demonstrators demanding Ortega step down and call fresh elections. Pro-government gangs have also begun targeting Catholic Churches, many of whose members are opposed to his leadership.

Wiccans Accuse Sephora Of ‘Culturally Appropriating’ Witchcraft. There’s Just One Problem ~ Good grief. Stop whining. Turn ’em into frogs ~

Wiccans and pagans are reportedly crying foul on cosmetics retailer Sephora which introduced a “starter witch kit” as part of its Halloween offerings, accusing the chain of profiting off “cultural appropriation.” […]

But there’s one big problem with the witches’ claims. Wicca and paganism aren’t new religions and “witchcraft” as these women are practicing it is actually a collection of beliefs and practices “appropriated” from other cultures. Sage burning is a Native American practice. Gypsies popularized fortune telling and Tarot. And crystals, well, those probably originated on weird communes in the 1960s, but that’s still someone else’s culture.

Who Owns Science, Anyway? ~ Much as they do on the political front, progressives have been trying for decades to squelch scientific debate. The “Open Science” movement may help change that ~

Who owns science? In the old days, scientists were self-funded or supported by patrons. Nowadays, much of science is funded by governments. And yet the results of the research remain largely behind paywalls: journals that require subscription fees often beyond the reach of the common man […]

The thinking behind Open Science is that people who fund the research ought to be able to see the results.

What a radical concept 😯

Report: Despite Pleas from Police, Tallahassee Murder Rate Increased 52% Under Gillum Leadership ~ Another city’s crime rate climbs under Democrat leadership. So Florida should elect him as their governor?!

Pro-lifer accuses “Shout Your Abortion” of stealing her photo for piece bragging about 3 abortions ~ Because nothing so typifies the Left as dishonesty. If they ripped off the picture, they probably fabricated the entire story ~

“I am 23, I have a good life, I don’t want to destroy it because of a bunch of children that I am not ready for. Doesn’t that make sense? I have ZERO regrets on what I have,” the author writes, wishing that abortion was seen as “just another surgery.”

“Heather’s” essay was picked up on multiple websites and received widespread condemnation in pro-life and conservative circles.

24-year-old Molly Schaap subsequently reached out to LifeSiteNews and other pro-life outlets to declare that she was actually the woman in the header image … but she was pro-life, had never had an abortion, and did not give Shout Your Abortion permission to use her photo.

Hillary Clinton to stump for Bob Menendez in the most ethically backwards campaign event of all time ~ What a pair. These two should both be wearing orange jumpsuits ~

Eighteen counts of bribery have scared many Democrats away from Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., but they didn’t scare away Hillary Clinton. The failed presidential candidate is coming to New Jersey to campaign for the ethically challenged and politically beleaguered incumbent senator […]

The senator was credibly accused of running an immigration racket. He provided visas for several of the girlfriends of convicted fraudster Salomon Melgen, and that wealthy ophthalmologist in turn provided him with flights on a private jet, nights in Paris, and rounds of golf at private clubs. If it wasn’t for a mistrial, Menendez would likely be behind bars.

Massive Pro-Life Protest With 20,000 People Forces Guatemala to Cancel Bill to Legalize Abortions ~ Wow. This country is seriously pro-life ~

Guatemala only allows abortion when the mother’s life is at risk, and has strongly opposed any moves to impose widespread abortion. Last year, the military blocked a Dutch ship distributing illegal abortion pills, saying it would defend “human life and the laws of our country”.

A bill sponsored by the leftist Convergencia opposition party had included a clause that would allow underage girls that have been the victims of sexual abuse to abort in the first 12 weeks.

On Sunday 20,000 people, backed by the Catholic and Evangelical churches, took to the streets in protest of the bill and in support of life and family. This fierce opposition forced activists into a hasty retreat, leading to them deciding to remove the clause yesterday.

After Pride parade, priest cleanses route with holy water ~ This is awesome. They should try this in Boston after St. Patrick’s Day next year ~

Fr. Oleg Mokryak, head of the Missionary Department for the Diocese of Odessa, Ukraine, walked with parishioners along Seaside Boulevard, “dousing the road, people, and monuments with Holy Water,” according to a report Orthochristian.com.

Fr. Mokryak explained he was, “cleansing the boulevard after the sexual deviancy parade that defiled the street.”

Islamist coexistence a growing problem in Egypt

After the chaotic, troubled years of the Arab Spring, Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi (an Islamist and Muslim Brotherhood member) was ousted in 2013. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was elected to replace him in 2014. As I blogged about last November, the current administration seems much more inclined to allow Christians relative freedom in which to practice their religion, but that very fact enrages the country’s Islamists, who aren’t exactly inclined to coexist with infidels.

While Christians account for 10% of the Egyptian population, they have difficulty getting formal recognition for their churches. According to World Watch Monitor ~

Exactly two years ago, the government introduced a new common law granting church buildings the same rights as mosques. About 3500 pre-existing ‘churches’ were waiting to be legalised at the time: some had been waiting for over 20 years. Discussions to redress the imbalance had fruitlessly been going on since the 1970s.

In January this year, Egypt’s Ministry of Housing announced that Christians are allowed to continue to meet in unlicensed churches, pending the legalisation process.

But Muslim fundamentalists, who are concentrated in various rural villages and Upper Egyptian governorates, didn’t get the memo. Which naturally doesn’t bode well for the Christians in those areas.

egypt-copticpersecution
The Luxor Governorate in particular has apparently decided the federal law doesn’t apply to them (they must be the California of Egypt) ~

In Luxor governorate alone, eight churches have had to be closed while seeking legalization, Gamil Ayed, a Christian lawyer in the city of Esna, told World Watch Monitor.

“We haven’t heard that a mosque was closed down or the prayer was stopped in it because it was unlicensed. Is that justice? Where is the equality? Where is the religious freedom? Where is the law? Where are the state’ institutions?” he added.

That was last month. This week, Morning Star News reports that some Christians have actually been jailed for worshipping in unlicensed house ~

After Muslim mobs demonstrated against the Virgin Mary and St. Mahrael church in Luxor Governorate, 435 miles south of Cairo, police accused five Coptic Catholics of worshipping without a permit, according to Coptic rights activist Safwat Samaan.

Police closed the church in Al-Zeneeqa village, in Esna, which has been holding worship services at the site for 18 years, according to Samaan. Five Muslims were also arrested, with another 10 arrested on Aug. 24 as they prepared another demonstration against the church, according to U.S.-based Catholic publications The Tablet.

The Copts were arrested even though they did not take any action against the demonstrators, the Catholic outlet reported. Besides charging the Christians with worshipping in an unlicensed venue, they charged them and the Muslims with illegal gathering, disrupting public peace and inciting sectarian strife, according to local media.

So basically, it’s the Christians’ fault for inflaming the violence by their very existence. This seems to be a continuing theme with the Religion-of-Peace the world over. And the Islamists’ standard M.O. has become agitate – and escalate – until their demands are met.

Why do these people refuse to coexist? And why are the rest of us supposed to pretend that’s not the case? #Rhetorical

CopticChurchEl-ZeniqaEgypt

St. Mary and Anba Feltaas Coptic Orthodox church in Keyman Almtaanh village, near El-Zeniqa, was attacked by Muslim villagers after they had heard that the church had sought legalisation.

“We finished building our church in January, 2018 and we then started to pray in it, as a de-facto church, from time to time and all the villagers know that,” Rafaat Fawzy, a local resident told World Watch Monitor.

Although police arrived to disperse the demonstrators, no one was arrested. Guards were assigned to guard the church after it was closed.

“There are about 4000 Christians in our village and we have no place to worship now,” said Fawzy.

“The nearest church is the Archangel church in Wabwrat Al Mataana village, 15 km away. It is difficult to go and pray in that church, especially for the old, the sick people and kids,” he added.

“Where are our rights? There are seven mosques in our village and Muslims can pray in any place freely, but we are prevented from practicing our religious rites in a simple place that we have been dreaming of. Is that a justice? We are oppressed in our country and there are no rights for us.”

If President al-Sisi is truly serious about encouraging an open, pluralistic, democratic society in Egypt, he needs to enforce reforms in all areas of his country.

Pointless paganism

burningman3Well, if you missed it, you’ll have to wait til next year. The annual “Burning Man” festival was held in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada last week. The images from this year’s event remind me of nothing so much as the Mad Max movies. The desert setting certainly contributes to the overall post-apocalyptic impression.

As evidence of its pagan roots, Burning Man was originally held in the month of June during the summer solstice. Organized more than 30 years ago as an experiment in community and art, the event has grown and evolved over the years – not necessarily for the better. This is from a sympathetic observer ~

What was once a genuinely radical festival, based on principles of inclusion, decommodification, self-reliance and communal effort, Burning Man festival has changed somewhat.

With your average person needing to shell out $1500 over the course of the festival, ‘escaping capitalism’ in order to rub shoulders with spaced out Silicon Valley brogrammers and pseudo-bohemian billionaires doesn’t come cheap.

Source: BoredPanda

Alec M. Dent, writing at the Washington Free Beacon, offers a glimpse into the annual celebration of, well… whatever ~

burningman2

The festival is known for many things—heavy drug use not least among them—like its themes of “radical inclusion,” the celebrities it attracts—noted miniature submarine enthusiast Elon Musk is a regular attendee […]

Like every religious gathering, Burning Man is full of ceremony and tradition. There is, for starters, a dress code. Burners see themselves as “the entertainment” for the week… and they are encouraged to dress as outlandishly as they can. Burning Man participants show up in things like suits of chainmail with oriental designs that reek of cultural appropriation or leather dominatrix outfits and pagan-looking, horned headdresses, if they wear anything at all […]

Vehicles, too, require a special panache for the festival—there are no cars, only “mutant vehicles.” They must be registered with Black Rock’s own DMV (Department of Mutant Vehicles).

Each year Burning Man features a temporary “temple,” though the object of one’s worship is purely a matter of personal preference. Dent describes the reconstruction of one such structure, found at the Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. ~

The temple is a place where Burners are encouraged to bring their troubles and pains. A sign in the Renwick informs visitors the temple is “always for one person.” It continues, “If you have lost someone dear to you, if you are suffering, if you need forgiveness, or shelter, or comfort, this Temple is for you.” It is meant to be a religious place, a sanctuary for the anguished, but it is stripped of all religious meaning. The altars there are impressive, but they are dedicated to no higher power.

How depressing that they’re looking for something they’ll never find at an escapist, fantasy festival in the desert. We all yearn for solace, comfort, fulfillment, deeper meaning than can be found in the grind of our daily lives. The only sure place to find all those things is the arms of a loving Savior – not at some self-indulgent, bizarre, nihilistic ritual.

burningman2018
The week-long gathering culminates in the symbolic ritual burning of a large 40 ft. wooden effigy. As Dent describes this “holiest of ceremonies” ~

(T)he burning of the Man is meant to represent “radical self-expression” according to Larry Harvey, one of the founders of the festival. It is their Eucharist, for just as Christians commune with their God through their ceremony, so too do the Burners. The difference is, of course, their god is the self.

‘Burning Man’ Is America’s Largest Religious Gathering ~ Michael Knowles describes the event as a bacchanal of sex, drugs, and pagan spirituality ~

Religious language pervades the entire festival. Burning Man founder Larry Harvey describes the event in terms ripped from the first chapter of the Book of Genesis. “This may be the essential genius of Burning Man,” he explains. “Out of nothing, we created everything.” Harvey laid out the festival’s Ten Principles in 2004, which include “radical inclusion,” “radical self-reliance,” “radical self-expression” — anyone notice a pattern? — as well as “gifting” and “decommodification.”

The exchange of money is prohibited at Burning Man, which costs between $390 and $1,200 per person to enter. Rounding out the list of principles are “participation” and “immediacy.” Harvey explains, “No idea can substitute for this experience.” Burning Man is not for Gnostics; it demands not just mind but body too.

The majority of attendees consider themselves “spiritual but not religious” ~

… which is code for the faddish modern paganism that admits metaphysical reality but refuses to be inconvenienced by it.

Sad. It’s just all so misguided, so contrived, and thus completely devoid of any real transcendent meaning.

New twist on the New Mexico Five

Well, maybe I was wrong about the FBI being responsible for botching the Muslim compound case in New Mexico…

It seems that the day after local authorities dropped charges on three of the five individuals running the junior jihadi camp near Amalia, NM, the feds stepped in and re-arrested all five of the adults on gun charges (via Hot Air) ~

The defendants, Jany Leveille, 35, a Haitian national illegally present in the United States, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, 40, Hujrah Wahhaj, 37, Subhanah Wahhaj, 35, and Lucas Morton, 40, are charged in a criminal complaint that was filed earlier today in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. The criminal complaint charges Jany Leveille with being an alien unlawfully in possession of firearms and ammunition in the District of New Mexico from Nov. 2017 through Aug. 2018. The criminal complaint charges the other four defendants with aiding and abetting Leveille in committing the offense, and with conspiring with Leveille to commit the offense […]

NewMexicoMuslims1
KOB4 adds that the Taos, NM DA also plans to take the case to the grand jury next month with the intention of filing new charges related to child abuse. So it sounds as if these defendants could be facing a long time behind bars. The 11 children found at the compound, reportedly malnourished and poorly cared for, have been in state care since the raid.

Maybe it was just local law enforcement who bungled things. Who knows? But shouldn’t the FBI have been involved from the beginning since the crimes included kidnapping across state lines? Also, can’t the feds charge them with kidnapping? Murder? Child abuse?

In any event, the mainstreams have certainly moved on (the only reportage on this latest development is found on local news and “conservative” sites). So in the end it will just be another one of those occurrences involving Islamists where the truth will remain suspiciously obscured forever.

Let the Kavanaugh carnival begin

Democrats just can’t help themselves. After spending the weekend shamelessly exploiting the memorial services for Sen. John McCain and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, loudly decrying divisive politics, angry rhetoric and the lack of civility, they proceeded to launch an angry, divisive, unruly attack on Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, as his confirmation hearings began this morning ~ Democrat-staged protests and interruptions mock the serious business of considering the Supreme Court nominee ~

BrettKavanaugh

Strong Democratic opposition to President Donald Trump’s nominee reflected the political stakes for both parties just two months before congressional elections.

The Democrats, including several senators poised for 2020 presidential bids, tried to block the proceedings over Kavanaugh records being withheld by the White House. Republicans in turn accused the Democrats of turning the hearing into a circus. And protesters shouted out frequent and persistent disruptions from the audience.

While the Left no doubt wants everyone to think this was a righteous, spontaneous protest, it was anything but – as Katie Pavelich reports ~ Democrats Coordinated Their Temper Tantrum at Kavanaugh Hearing ~

Democrats coordinated and planned over the long holiday weekend to obnoxiously interrupt the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The hearing started Tuesday morning and will likely run through the end of the week.

Kasie Hunt is an NBC News Capitol Hill Correspondent ~

[Furthermore, it appears many of the protestors were actually paid. – See below*]

The thing is, the United States is a Constitutional Republic. That means we generally attempt to settle our political differences in a civilized, reasonable manner, in accordance with the rule of law. Conservatives – and most Republicans – try to appoint judges who demonstrate a fidelity to the Constitution.

Roman Martinez, who clerked for the judge, explains what that looks like, while describing Kavanaugh’s qualifications for the Court ~

As David Harsanyi at The Stream pointed out back in July ~

For those who rely on the administrative state and coercion as a policy tool — forcing people to join political organizations, forcing them to support abortion, forcing them to subsidize socially progressive sacraments, forcing them to create products that undermine their faith, and so on (the Constitution is) a big problem.

Authoritarians at heart, Democrats think that the Constitution – with its clear limitations on the power of the state – has outlived its usefulness. They view the judiciary as an extension of Congress, preferring judges who legislate from the bench. As ruthless as they are shameless, they’ll obviously stop at nothing to push the Supreme Court as far to the left as possible. With their childish antics, they’re increasingly behaving as if they live in a banana republic. Let’s not let them turn the country into one.

Carnival Sideshow:
Illustrating just how unhinged some on the Left have become ~

1.) After Leftists Smear Woman At Kavanaugh Hearing As White Supremacist, Her Attorney Husband Issues Fierce Response

The internet erupted with conspiracy theories that Zina Bash, a former Kavanaugh clerk, flashed a “white power” sign, apparently giving a nod and wink to her white supremacist, Kavanaugh-supporting brethren. (In reality, she randomly rested her right hand on left arm, but TRUMP!) […]

Hours later, Mrs. Bash’s husband, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas John Bash, unloaded on the despicable leftists spreading such falsehoods about his part-Mexican, part-Jewish wife.

“Zina is Mexican on her mother’s side and Jewish on her father’s side. She was born in Mexico. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors.”

“The attacks today on my wife are repulsive,” started Mr. Bash. “Everyone tweeting this vicious conspiracy theory should be ashamed of themselves. We weren’t even familiar with the hateful symbol being attributed to her for the random way she rested her hand during a long hearing.”

2.) Dianne Feinstein: More People Will Die in Mass Shootings if Brett Kavanaugh Gets Confirmed ~ No hyperbole here ~

She also intimated there would be more school shootings if Kavanaugh were confirmed, chiefly because of the continued legality of “assault weapons.” Feinstein claimed there have been 273 school shootings since the heinous December 14, 2012, shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, and that such shootings would actually grow with Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Fun fact: A study by University of Alabama associate professor Adam Lankford found 90 mass shootings–including mass shootings at schools–during the years 1966-2012. Feinstein, on the other hand, is claiming 273 shootings in schools alone during a five and half year time frame.

3.) Women’s March Leader Linda Sarsour Arrested at Kavanaugh Hearing ~ (Sarsour is a contentious, pro-abortion, Muslim activist)

Sarsour was one of approximately 20 demonstrators forcibly removed from Tuesday’s hearing by Capitol Police. The protesters said Kavanaugh would protect President Donald Trump on the Supreme Court and provide the fifth vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide.

4.) *Three Texas Doctors: We Saw Protesters Paid In Cash To Disrupt Brett Kavanaugh Hearing ~

Author and commentator Adam W. Schindler interviews three Texas doctors who traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh. While waiting on line, they say they witnessed protesters being paid in cash to cause trouble in the hearing and in the public line to get in, Tuesday on Capitol Hill.

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

‘Abomination’: Priest poses with drag queens in sanctuary of Catholic Church ~ More evidence of a subculture of perversion hiding in plain sight ~

GRAN CANARIA, Spain, August 1, 2018 – A priest in the Canary Islands posed with drag queens in the sanctuary of a Catholic church after letting the men use the church rectory as a temporary dressing room […]

(Fr. Fernando Báez posed) in the midst of almost a dozen garishly dressed drag queens, all of them standing directly in front of the holy altar. The photo is framed to include in the background a large cross on which is hanging a figure of Jesus.

Utter blasphemy.

U.S. announces immediate end to UNRWA funding ~ This is excellent news! As I pointed out earlier this year, this has been an extortion scam all along. Billions of dollars that are supposed to aid the Palestinian people end of in the coffers of their corrupt, terrorist leaders.
As an added bonus, this move will of course infuriate all the right people 🙂 ~

“The administration has carefully reviewed the issue and determined that the United States will not make additional contributions to UNRWA,” the State Department said in a statement. “When we made a US contribution of $60 million in January, we made it clear that the United States was no longer willing to shoulder the very disproportionate share of the burden of UNRWA’s costs that we had assumed for many years.

“Beyond the budget gap itself and failure to mobilize adequate and appropriate burden sharing, the fundamental business model and fiscal practices that have marked UNRWA for years– tied to UNRWA’s endlessly and exponentially expanding community of entitled beneficiaries– is simply unsustainable and has been in crisis mode for many years,” it continued. “The United States will no longer commit further funding to this irredeemably flawed operation.”

The IVF Needle Baby; darling meme, troubling theme ~ A picture of a tiny baby, surrounded by hypodermic needles, which supposedly represent the number of times a lesbian couple attempted to conceive the child through in-vitro fertilization. What a sad statement on today’s me-first culture ~

IVFbabyNot only are the ethical questions created by the technology buried by this picture, so are the culture-wide assumptions that animate our current technologies. I often talk about how marriage, sex, and babies are a “package” deal as created by God and recognized throughout human history until just recently. The main idea of the sexual revolution has been to divorce sex, marriage and babies.

As cute and eternally valuable as the baby in the picture is, the image represents a final stage of that divorce. What started as the divorce of sex from marriage by untethering sex from babies has led to the separation of babies from marriage, and now, through our technologies, the divorce of babies from sex.

Muslim Doctors Without Borders nurse shoots at Israeli troops on Gaza border ~ I think it was Alan Dershowitz who referred to the NGO as doctors-without-morals Exactly so ~

“Hani Al-Almajdalawi, who tried to infiltrate through the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip while he was armed with a rifle, opened fire toward military forces and even threw an explosive device at them,” it said.

COGAT said Almajdalawi was “a nurse who worked for the international organization Doctors Without Borders.”

“Was” being the operative word. The Israelis have zero tolerance for this sort of provocation.

Gohmert doubles down after FBI dismisses claim of Clinton server hack ~ Louie Gohmert (R-TX)- is one of the few D.C. politicians actually looking out for the country’s best interests. Good luck with that. Especially when it comes to the Clintons ~

(T)he FBI was notified of the purported hack in 2015, when the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) warned the bureau of the intrusion. The hack reportedly implanted code that generated a “courtesy copy” for almost all Clinton’s emails — which was then forwarded to the Chinese company.

A major national security breach!

“It’s not surprising that the FBI ‘has not found any evidence’ regarding Clinton’s servers being breached,” Gohmert, R-Texas, said. “It was the Obama-appointed Intelligence Community Inspector General that discovered the breach. It was not the FBI that found it, so their statement was technically correct, but very deceptive in its omission.”

Iran has been emboldened by the lack of international repercussions on its malevolent behavior and may have increased its intelligence operations in America in the years since the landmark nuclear deal, (Roskam) said.

Uppsala Has Fallen ~ Poor Sweden. Apparently an Islamic no-go zone has swallowed an entire city ~

The ancient city of Uppsala, the fourth-largest in Sweden with roots going back to Viking times, has fallen. Earlier this week, August 23 2018, Uppsala police announced that they are no longer in control, and criminal gangs have taken over the city […]

‘Burning Man’ Is America’s Largest Religious Gathering ~ Reverting to paganism ~

Seventy thousand weirdos descend on the Nevada desert this week to bump uglies, welter in filth, and worship Moloch during America’s largest annual religious gathering: Burning Man. The festival began as a summer solstice bonfire ritual in 1986, when Bay Area artists “spontaneously” burned an eight-foot-tall wooden man, as well as a smaller wooden dog, in effigy […]

The ritual mirrored an identical ancient Druidic sacrifice described by Julius Caesar in his Commentary on the Gallic War, though Burning Man’s founders claim ignorance as to the custom’s origin. Today that solstice bonfire has grown into a week-long, annual bacchanal of sex, drugs, and pagan spirituality.

Turkey retaliates for sanctions – by killing more Yazidis

It’s been four years since ISIS tried to annihilate the Yazidi population in northwest Iraq ~

When ISIS invaded Sinjar in August 2014, hundreds of defenseless Yazidi men and elderly women were murdered. Yazidi girls and women became the victims of widespread abduction and slavery. ISIS “deliberately tormented the relatives of Yazidis who were forced to witness or listen over the phone as their daughters and sisters were abused,” according to a 2017 report by Yazda, a Yazidi advocacy organization. The report also reveals that Yazidi boys were kidnapped and recruited to undergo forced conversion and military training.

Now it appears that Turkey’s Islamist president is determined to complete the genocide ~ Turkey Still Bombing and Killing Minorities, Even in Iraq ~

Turkish fighter jets launched airstrikes on the Sinjar district on Wednesday (August 15th). The strikes killed a (an alleged) leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party PKK, member of the Yazidi Society Coordination and a commander of the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS), Ismail Ozden known as Mam Zaki Shingali.

Turkey-Iraq-Syria
Ahmed Mahjoub, spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, denies the Turks’ claim the attack was coordinated with Iraq. Further, he called on Turkey to withdraw its troops from Iraqi territory, saying their presence is contrary to the international conventions.

Although still a member of NATO, Turkey is acting less and less deserving of that membership. As I’ve blogged about several times, they’re still holding American Pastor Andrew Brunson under house arrest, on phony charges of spying.

Thankfully, President Trump has now stepped in, applying pressure to facilitate Brunson’s release by imposing sanctions and increasing tariffs on steel and aluminum. But Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is increasingly defiant ~

The surprise US tariffs announced on 10 August sharply rocked the Turkish markets, pushing the lira to a record low of nearly 20 per cent in one day. Erdoğan called for a boycott of US electronic devices and then announced tariffs against US cars, alcohol, tobacco and other imports.

“You can never bring this nation in line with the language of threats,” Erdoğan responded. “It is a pity that you choose a pastor over your strategic partner in NATO.”

Within days of that outburst, our strategic partner in NATO was attacking ethnic minorities in Iraq. Johannes de Jong has been in direct contact with several Yazidi friends in Sinjar. One of them sent him the following message on August 15th ~

“Sinjar has been bombed by Turkish airstrikes half an hour ago. One of our leaders and several others have been killed.”

For centuries, Yazidis have been the most fiercely persecuted ethnic group in Syria and Iraq. During the ISIS assault in 2014, National Geographic featured a background piece ~ Who Are the Yazidis, the Ancient, Persecuted Religious Minority Struggling to Survive in Iraq? ~

The Yazidis have inhabited the mountains of northwestern Iraq for centuries, and the region is home to their holy places, shrines, and ancestral villages. Outside of Sinjar, the Yazidis are concentrated in areas north of Mosul, and in the Kurdish-controlled province of Dohuk. For Yazidis, the land holds deep religious significance; adherents from all over the world—remnant communities exist in Turkey, Germany, and elsewhere—make pilgrimages to the holy Iraqi city of Lalesh […]

Yazidis
The Yazidi religion is often misunderstood, as it does not fit neatly into Iraq’s sectarian mosaic. Most Yazidis are Kurdish speakers, and while the majority consider themselves ethnically Kurdish, Yazidis are religiously distinct from Iraq’s predominantly Sunni Kurdish population. Yazidism is an ancient faith, with a rich oral tradition that integrates some Islamic beliefs with elements of Zoroastrianism, the ancient Persian religion, and Mithraism, a mystery religion originating in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Unfortunately for the Yazidi people, their unique religious beliefs can not be tolerated by the intolerant Islamists – be they ISIS terrorists – or Turkish fundamentalists. And Turkey, under Erdoğan, is growing more fundamentalist by the day.

In pursuit of his megalomaniacal ambitions for a reconstituted Ottoman Empire, he’s becoming ever more aggressive with his neighbors. Not just attempting ethnic cleansing of the Yazidis, but against the Kurds in Syria.

It’s good to know we have someone in the White House who is willing and able to stand up to a tyrant like Erdoğan. In the wake of Turkey’s Sinjar bombing, Johannes de Jong is calling for an even tougher stance ~

Now it’s time for President Trump to flex America’s muscles. Tell Turkey it can’t use NATO jets to randomly commit airstrikes against innocent minorities in Iraq. The easiest way to do so is to declare Sinjar a no-fly zone for Turkish jets. Erdogan is testing the resolve of President Trump. The answer should be clear, as Reagan’s was to Gorbachev: “Mr. Erdogan, call off those planes!”

Years after Genocide, Yazidis Urgently Need Help ~

“War and genocide, which Yazidis have recently experienced once again, cause the destruction of the human soul. Yazidis in general suffer from an unprecedented psychological crisis. They have lost hope of living a decent life. “We Yezidis are desperate for your immediate help and support. During our six-thousand-year history, Yezidis have faced 74 genocides in the Middle East, including the ongoing genocide. Why? Simply because we are not Muslims. We are an ancient and proud people from the heart of Mesopotamia, the birth place of civilization and the birth place of many of the world’s religions. And here we are today, in 2015, on the verge of annihilation. In response to our suffering around the World there is profound, obscene silence. We Yezidis are considered ‘Infidels’ in the eyes of Muslims, and so they are encouraged to kill, rape, enslave, and convert us.”

Nothing to see in New Mexico

nottheterroristsyourelookin

The story about the five Muslims absusing young boys on an isolated, unsanitary compound in New Mexico – for the purposes of training them to be juvenile jihadis – just keeps getting more bizarre by the day. Here’s a quick re-cap, via my previous posts ~

Extreme child abuse at ‘extremist Muslim’ New Mexico compound ~ If they cover it at all, mainstreams ignore the Muslim terrorism component of the story
Religion-of-Peace gets a pass? ~ Progressive judge releases defendants pending formal charges
Covering up for the Religion-of-Peace? Law enforcement destroys crime scene

NewMexicoMuslims6

Over this past weekend we learned that the suspects had been planning an attack on – among other targets – Atlanta’s Grady Hospital. From CNN ~

A handwritten document titled “Phases of a Terrorist Attack.” Talk of confronting and attacking “corrupt” institutions, including Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital. Jokes about dying in jihad. An underground stash of weapons and ammunition.

New court documents revealed these and other details in the case against five adults who lived in squalor with 11 starving children in a ramshackle New Mexico compound.

Writing at The Federalist, Margot Cleveland provides some additional, disturbing details about the group’s intentions ~

Follow-up interviews with some of the children garnered more evidence, including statements that Morton told them he “wished to die in jihad, as a martyr,” and Leveille and Subhanna Wahhaj joking about dying in jihad.

The children also relayed that Leveille and Suraj intended to confront “corrupt” institutions, such as the military, CIA, and American schools, and reveal to them “the truth.” If they refused to accept the message, the children said, Leveille would provide a signal to Suraj, who would attack the individual.

And then in yesterday’s news, we found that three of the suspects were released after a judge dropped all the charges!

District Judge Emilio Chavez dismissed all charges against three of the five “extremist Muslims” connected to the New Mexico compound on Wednesday, claiming that prosecutors did not move fast enough in the case according to the state’s laws.

NewMexicoMuslims5
“Child abuse charges against Lucas Morton, Subhannah Wahhaj and Hujrah Wahhaj were dropped because prosecutors missed the 10-day limit for an evidentiary hearing to establish probable cause,” Fox News reported.

Just what sort of circus are the feds running out there?

Let’s recap: We have a dead child. Eleven other abused and malnourished young boys. Weapons cache found on the property. Children being trained to be terrorists. A specific plan written to attack an Atlanta hospital… And yet this is all just being air-brushed out of public consciousness?!

To understand how truly outrageous this is, replace the Muslim defendants in the story with “white supremacists,” and ask yourself ~

• Would the network news be purposefully ignoring the story?
• Would the evidence have been destroyed?
• Would any of the defendants been released on bail – much less not even be charged with a crime?
• Wouldn’t the gun grabbers again be demanding a repeal of the 2nd Amendment?
• Wouldn’t the media attempt to blame the entire sensational situation on Trump’s racism?

Not to go all conspiracy-theory here, but this is all starting to look extremely fishy. Given the levels of corruption we’re witnessing at the highest levels of our intelligence agencies in the Russian Collusion clown show, is it a stretch to suspect them of a little extralegal behavior elsewhere? In a couple tweets yesterday Laura Loomer was wondering just what the FBI is up to in New Mexico ~

This is going to sound crazy. But I think FBI is training jihadis with hopes that they attack Americans so that the Democrats call for more gun control. They destroyed the compound & are letting the suspects go. Think about it.

Why would they destroy the compound? How did nobody notice a giant compound in the desert? How come Islamic suspects are getting away with planning an attack on Americans? How come the FBI won’t hold a press conference? How come the FBI always seems to have advance knowledge?

They destroyed the evidence and allowed the Wahhaj family to endanger Americans despite the fact that they have a long documented history of being tied to terrorists.

Pretty far-fetched I know. But when it’s apparent that the public isn’t being served, that the truth is being withheld, and that those who have endangered the community aren’t being held accountable – something’s gone really, really wrong.

But, oh well… “move along.”

Thanks but, we don’t need advice from reality-free, self-important Hollywood celebs

Via Breitbart ~

Frozen star Josh Gad tweeted this week that Americans need to get out and vote to end the “never ending hellscape” that is America under President Donald Trump.

I don’t know who this person is, nor do I care. These Hollywood narcissists are really becoming tedious. With the advances in computer-generated imagery, maybe one day soon we can replace a significant number of them with animation. Until then, these self-absorbed, insignificant, shallow celebrities should be given one-way tickets to a real “hellscape.” Presently, there are any number of totalitarian utopias to choose from. Here are a few examples ~

North Korea
Venezuela
Nigeria
Turkey
Yemen
Nicaragua
Iran
Tajikistan
Burma
Cuba

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW, the bill that would protect elections that Gad is referring to wouldn’t. But then facts aren’t particularly relevant to the progressive worldview of those who dwell in La-La Land.
