Once again Christians are dying for their faith in Nigeria – murdered by adherents of the Religion-of-Peace ~ Muslim Herdsmen Slaughter 120 Nigerian Christians Returning from Church Funeral ~

Muslim Fulani herdsmen massacred some 120 Christians in central Nigeria over the weekend, the majority of whom were returning from the funeral of the father of a local Christian clergyman.
 
In an attack that lasted several hours, heavily armed gunmen identified as Fulani herdsmen open-fired on citizens in a number of villages in Plateau State, killing about 120 and injuring over 200 more as they returned from the funeral of a local Christian minister. The herdsmen reportedly also burned some 50 homes to the ground.

 
And once again the mainstreams either yawn – or get the facts wrong ~

Mainstream media such as CNN reporting on the story predictably downplayed the religious nature of the attack and the identity of the assailants, vaguely describing the incident as an example of “ethnic tensions.”
 
Agence France Press (AFP) said that the killings “are the latest in a long-running battle for land and resources” while the BBC similarly highlighted that “the area has a decades-long history of violence between ethnic groups competing for land.”

 
The media isn’t particularly interested in reality so they merely regurgitate the Nigerian government’s official line; that this is an unfortunate conflict between herdsmen and farmers. Now technically, this is true. But it just so happens the herdsmen are primarily Muslim and the farmers, Christian. One of those groups is typically able to coexist. The other isn’t. So the hostility is horribly one-sided.
 
A source who remained anonymous for personal safety reasons spoke with World Watch Monitor after this latest violence ~

“This has always been the case in such situation. Each time the Fulani want to attack, they will move their cattle and destroy people’s farm lands. And when people react, they will distort the truth and the flow of information.
 
“But what happened his weekend is beyond the classic farmers-herders clashes. It’s part of a grand plan to Islamise Nigeria, because most of the victims were sleeping in their homes when the Fulani militia stormed their villages and killed them.”

Last Friday, speaker, author, radio show host and Messianic Jewish apologist, Dr. Michael Brown, penned a direct appeal to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, pleading for an end to the genocide ~

Babies are being hacked to death. Children kidnapped. Women raped and savaged. Young and old burned alive. Houses destroyed, livestock plundered. Muslim herdsmen are massacring their Christian neighbors while the Nigerian media misreports and the Nigerian government refuses to act. Some even claim the government is complicit in these attacks […]
 
And what does the world media say about this? “The world media is reporting this as an ‘ethnic clash.’ Some call it ethnic cleansing. But it is really religious cleansing. As Anglican Archbishop Ben Kwashi . . . told us yesterday, a mere ‘clash’ does not murder women and children.”
 
And note that Archbishop Kwashi is not some marginal player. He was just elected the general secretary of the Global Anglican Futures Conference. He himself has been threatened with death, his cattle have been stolen, and his own wife raped and left half-dead.

Dr. Brown has been receiving emails from Prof. Gerald McDermott, a respected educator and Anglican Church leader in Jos (near the center of Nigeria – see above map) ~

“Just a few days ago 300 Christians were killed when Muslim terrorists targeted several Christian villages on the outskirts of Jos.
 
“Jos has always been mostly Christian and has been coveted by Muslims for generations. It is one of the best places in Nigeria to live, and has always resisted Muslim encroachments. Now, with a Muslim president and Muslims in control of the army and every branch of government, Muslims feel emboldened. . . .
 
“More disturbing to Christians, who are still the majority of not only Jos but also Nigeria as a whole, is that top government and army offices are infiltrated by Boko Haram, the Muslim terrorist movement that has slain thousands of Christians and several years ago kidnapped hundreds of Christian girls. Some have never been returned. When President Obama offered intelligence and technological help to Bukhari to find and destroy the Boko Haram kidnappers, Bukhari refused the help. Knowledgeable Christians here tell me that Bukhari himself has ties with Boko Haram.”

Dr. Brown concludes with this heartfelt request ~

To each one reading this article, I beg of you to do three things:
1) Share this article with others and do your best to bring it to the attention of your national government.
2) Pray for these persecuted Christians, who are standing strong in the midst of hellish attacks. Their dedication rebukes our spiritual complacency in the West.
3) Pray that President Buhari and his administration would do the right thing and that these Fulani herdsmen would come to saving faith.

As an addendum to this tragic story, incredibly Twitter decided to censor Brown for telling the TRUTH!

There was some pushback from angry Muslims accusing him of lying about the attacks, to which Brown responding with courtesy and civility as he always does. Nevertheless, Twitter arbitrarily slapped his account with a 12 hour limitation for “hateful conduct” ~

What? Hateful conduct? I was exposing hateful — actually, murderous — conduct. I was not promoting violence against other groups. I was calling for the president of Nigeria to combat the violence.
 
Plus, I stated that Muslims also kill Muslims (an undeniable, almost daily reality). I made specific reference to “radical Islam” so as not to indict all Muslims.
 
Yet somehow, I broke Twitter rules and engaged in hateful conduct. What a travesty! Twitter is silencing the very voices calling for justice and urging that innocent children, women, and men be protected. How can this be?

 
Well, at least we know whose side Twitter is on – certainly not that of innocent Christian Nigerians.
