Who needs a father? Turns out – everyone
As all astute totalitarians know, the means to achieving their nefarious ends necessitates the destruction of the nuclear family. Eliminate that primary support structure and you will ensure complete dependence on the state.
One of the principle strategies for breaking down that fundamental building block of the civil society is to diminish the worth of fathers. And for years progressives have been doing that with a vengeance. Over the past few decades – with the enthusiastic assistance of radical feminists – they’ve reduced the status of fathers to little more than sperm donors.
And yet for children without dads, with few exceptions, life can be a struggle. The statistics are revealing – and grim ~
• Over 60% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes.
• Over 80% of youths in prison are from fatherless homes.
• Over 70% of high school dropouts are from fatherless homes.
• Over 70% of kids in drug abuse treatment centers are from fatherless homes.
Matt Walsh is correct in asserting that the fatherless home epidemic is a verified national emergency, and should be treated as such. And boys are the biggest casualty, which just exacerbates the situation ~
(T)he fatherless factor is just one part of the equation. The other part is that nearly all of the kids who fall into these statistics are boys. Pretty much every mass shooter in American history, with very rare exception, has been male. 93% of the inmates in federal prison are men. 90% of murders are committed by men. The vast majority of rapists and child molesters are male. Men are three times more likely to kill themselves.
It’s a national tragedy. We need to stand up to the nonsense about some new kind of family peddled by the secular progressives; the original version has worked best since the dawn of creation. As I wrote a few years back ~
God’s design for “family” starts with a mother and a father. As part of His plan, each of them provides different yet complementary attributes that are essential for the well-being of their offspring. And no amount of atheist, progressive or angry feminist proclamations can make that simple truth go away. The lack of either parent leaves a huge hole in a child’s heart. Many will spend the rest of their lives searching for someone – or something – to fill it back up.
Our broken society may try to pretend otherwise, but fathers are indispensible.

Just a couple decades ago Venezuela was a relatively prosperous country of 30 million people. And then, in 1999, socialism happened. Hugo Chavez convinced the naive voters that capitalism was evil, that the government could run things much better. At first Venezuelans were content with their new dependent status, but eventually the private sector was ruined, and everything the government touched turned to crap.

In Obergefell v. Hodges, the post-Christians decreed that a naked ape’s “dignity” demanded the legal acceptance of same-sex marriage. Four justices who voted in the negative warned that this threatened religious liberty. And now we see that they were right. Local news website Avvenire reported that the landslide happened after the town experienced 60millimeters of rain in just 24 hours.
Around 7,500 cubic meters of rock fell in the landslide, but remarkably nobody was hurt.
Parish priest Don Andrea Caelli told Avvenire: ‘As a believer I say that the provident hand of God accompanied this event which could have ended tragically.’

Courageous soccer player answers to a Higher Authority
Given the opportunity to play for the U.S. women’s national soccer team, when Jaelene Hinkle learned that the game jerseys would be promoting gay pride, she felt she had no choice but to decline, and remain true to her Christian faith ~

Activists automatically label any opposition to LGBTQ agenda “hate,” but clearly that is the last thing motivating Hinkle.
“There’s no logical reason that women’s sports should be an especially uncomfortable place for someone with traditionalist views about homosexuality,” Kevin Williamson wrote in Hinkle’s defense for The Weekly Standard. “But the kulturkampf brigades will have only conformity, abject and absolute. That is part of the doctrine of ‘inclusion,’ which, perversely enough, exists for the purpose of excluding certain people with unpopular political or religious opinions.”
It’s fitting that Hinkle plays for the North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League. Jaelene courageously chose not to conform to today’s secular progressive orthodoxy – enthusiastic affirmation of the LGBTQ agenda – choosing instead obedience to God ~
“If I never get a national team call-up again…that just is part of His plan and that’s okay,” said Hinkle. “And maybe this was why [I was] meant to play soccer. Just to show other believers to be obedient.”

Planned Parenthood’s routine cover-up of abuse and sex-trafficking
It’s not bad enough that Planned Parenthood established quotas for the number of abortions each of their centers performs. Or that the organization was caught peddling fetal body parts. Or that they actively promote sexual activity for young teens with targeted marketing campaigns. Now, a report from Live Action has documented systematic cover-up of sexual abuse of vulnerable young women – including minors as young as twelve!
So how does this egregious behavior square with the pro-choice claims that abortion empowers women? Reagan McCarthy, writing at Townhall, points out the clear hypocrisy ~
Planned Parenthood repeatedly tells everyone to #TrustWomen who report sexual assault and abuse, but turned a blind eye to girls as young as 12 and 13 years old who confided in Planned Parenthood workers about abuse instances.
This look-the-other way attitude isn’t just amoral on its face, it’s against the law, as the Live Action report explains ~
It is important to note that Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest recipient of federal Title X family planning funds, securing about $60 million a year from taxpayers. In 2015, 474 of Planned Parenthood’s nearly 650 facilities were Title X recipients, according to the Guttmacher Institute.
Since 1999, federal regulations have explicitly stated that Title X recipients are not exempt from state laws mandating the reporting of suspected child sexual abuse, rape, and incest. Planned Parenthood’s willful failures to report such abuse are cause for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which administers Title X, to investigate how widespread these failures are and whether other violations at Planned Parenthood have been covered up.
On the bright side, someone in government is finally paying attention. Just today, fifty-six members of Congress today called for just such an investigation ~
“Abortion is not family planning; It is family destruction,” said Rep. Diane Black (R-TN).
“The lies that are coming from the Big Abortion Industry are just heartbreaking,” Black continued. “Live Action’s findings show us that these same lies are used to willfully neglect reporting these horrific cases of abuse, rape, and sex trafficking.
So maybe we’ll finally be able to expose the true nature of the abortion industry, and get their young victims the help they need.

In the meantime, because we finally seem to have a pro-life president in the White House, the abortion giant is starting an aggressive smear campaign ~ Planned Parenthood launches “Tracking Trump.”
PP obviously doesn’t agree with President Trump’s assertion that “We cherish the sacred dignity of every human life.” And they’re distraught over his numerous pro-life accomplishments ~
• He was the first sitting president ever to address the March for Life, one year after he asked his vice president, Mike Pence, to address the event.
• He has given states the option to deny Planned Parenthood access to Medicaid and other federal grant money because the organization uses that money to facilitate their abortion business
• He restored, and expanded, the Mexico City policy, which prevents $9 billion in foreign aid from being used for overseas abortions.
• He also cut off American funding for the U.N. Population Fund, which colludes with China’s cruel program of forced abortion and sterilization.
In their new offensive, Planned Parenthood claims they’re uncovering the facts because President Trump is taking away our reproductive rights, freedoms, and opportunities ~
According to the abortion organization’s website, President Trump controls women, immigrants, the LGBTQ community and low-income earners. Vice President Mike Pence controls health care, civil rights and discrimination laws, the organization posits. Planned Parenthood lists a number of other officials within the Trump administration along with the items they control, pointing only to the controls the abortion group considers deleterious to women rather than providing a comprehensive list.
Can you think of anything more consistently dehumanizing and deleterious to women than the abortion industry?

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is promoting a petition against abstinence education. One features a picture of a condom on a banana, while the other declares that “Sex is hot – bad sex ed is not.”
Other ads in the series feature the recurring tagline, “Having sex? You deserve sex ed!” The analytical data for the ads reveals that the overwhelming majority of the people seeing them are girls, and that the ads are reaching children as young as age thirteen.
Another same-sex wedding case to consider
Now that the Supreme Court has decided in favor of Masterpiece Cakeshop will they take up the case of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, WA?
I’m not clear on the specific legal arguments, but the circumstances of Barronelle Stutzman’s case are really identical to those of Masterpiece. Both business owners are more than happy to sell any of their products to gays. They simply decline to provide services/products for a homosexual wedding celebration because it goes against their Christian faith.
The Washington state Supreme Court unanimously ruled in 2017 that Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, and owner Barronelle Stutzman, violated state anti-discrimination law when she refused to sell wedding flowers to a gay couple, citing her religious beliefs.
“I serve everyone. What I can’t do is create custom floral arrangements that celebrate events or express messages at odds with my faith,” Stutzman said in a statement. “For that, the attorney general has relentlessly prosecuted me, even suing me in my personal capacity.”
Here’s Barronelle’s story, via Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) ~
When Washington State florist Barronelle Stutzman was asked by a longtime customer and friend to create floral arrangements celebrating his same-sex wedding, she politely declined because of her religious beliefs. The State and customer sued Barronelle, and the Washington Supreme Court ruled that the government can force her—and, by extension, countless others—to create artistic expression and participate in events that violate their deepest convictions. In July 2017, ADF petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to take up Barronelle’s case. That petition is still pending.
Does our Constitution allow the government to force people to create art that violates their beliefs? The Supreme Court clearly said “no” in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. To be consistent, they should reach the same conclusion in Barronelle’s case.
