The Sad “Anonymous Dad” Effect

Even if your father wasn’t perfect (who the heck is!), imagine how you would feel if he cared so little about you that he just walked out of your life. Or was so self-centered that he never considered the long-term implications of selling his sperm for a quick buck.

God’s design for “family” starts with a mother and a father. As part of His plan, each of them provides different yet complementary attributes that are essential for the well-being of their offspring. And no amount of atheist, progressive or angry feminist proclamations can make that simple truth go away. The lack of either parent leaves a huge hole in a child’s heart. Many will spend the rest of their lives searching for someone – or something – to fill it back up ~

“Should we be conceiving children in the first place who will be deliberately denied the ability to know and be known by their father?”

We humans frequently believe that we know better than God. Sure, let’s invent – as the cable networks tout – a “new kind of family.” It may sound all warm and fuzzy, in a morally relative way, but this brave new world of sperm donors simply causes more brokenness; confusion, sadness, emptiness.

Our Father in heaven already knows each of us intimately. He alone can heal the broken, and fill the void in each of us…
