Smithsonian’s new museum features only progressive African American history

clarencethomasIf you thought that the shiny new Smithsonian African American Museum of History and Culture recently opened in Washington D.C., would – no question – include a mention of Justice Clarence Thomas (the only African American currently sitting on the United States Supreme Court; the second black American to ever serve on the court) you’d be sadly mistaken ➡ Smithsonian’s black heritage museum snubs Clarence Thomas ~

Last month, the National Museum of African American History and Culture opened in Washington D.C. However, Fox News reported on this month’s 25th anniversary of Justice Clarence Thomas joining the Supreme Court that the museum is completely void of any reference to Thomas’ personal and judicial legacy.

Well, he’s in good company. The museum apparently had no room for Alveda King (M.L. King’s niece and an ardent pro-life advocate), Michael Steele (first black RNC chair), Cora Brown (1st African American woman elected as a state Senator, MI 1952) or Thomas Sowell (economist, philosopher, author) either.

Reading this National Geographic review of the opening it’s clear that an honest reflection of history was not a priority for the museum’s directors. They had a more nefarious purpose in mind ~

People shuffled through the museum silent and stunned as zombies. They were sometimes stuck, riveted to an exhibit by the object, the words, or the pictures, seeming to question if this moment was ever real. I could hear groans and murmurs, sometimes people would shake their heads, others looked away finding the words or images too hard to take. One mother tried to explain to her son the injustice of lynching […]

The story of the museum was significant to me as a Jamaican man because African Americans have never had one that showcased the history and culture of blackness at such a huge magnitude. I could tell that it was being built to encompass the length and breadth of black American history and culture. I saw the museum as a place that families and communities could come to talk about their personal struggles.

Wonderful. Let’s focus exclusively on the negative. They can “talk about their personal struggles.” But let’s not discuss ways to overcome those struggles. Let’s not learn from the lives of successful blacks. Let’s not have a conversation about how we (black OR white) can emulate people like ~

• Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), first African-American senator from the state of South Carolina, the first black Republican elected to the United States Senate since the election of Edward Brooke in 1966, and the first elected from the South since 1881, four years after the end of Reconstruction.
• Shelby Steele, American author, columnist, documentary filmmaker, and a Robert J. and Marion E. Oster Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.
• Walter E. Williams, American economist who is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University.

According to this story at One News Now ~
tedhayes

Ted Hayes, who serves on the National Advisory Council of Project 21 (The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives), is up-in-arms at the decision to overlook Thomas and his contributions to society.

“Clarence Thomas is a great man,” Hayes argues. “He went through more than most black people – especially the leadership.”

Hayes also points to the challenges Thomas has successfully met over his lifetime.

Justice Clarence Thomas“[He] has even gone through Jim Crowism — and all the negatives that were thrown at him, he overcame,” he continued. “This is a great American story that these cronies around the African American Museum have chosen to leave out.”

Sounds to me like the Smithsonian’s goals in creating this museum were to deliberately re-enforce victimhood mentality, push the “white privilege” lie, and foster more racism. Sigh. It’s what progressives have been doing for 150 years.

What we learn from black history ~ Some wise words from Star Parker about America’s past and future ~

In looking at the great civil rights struggle in America, we cannot forget that this was a Christian movement led by a Christian pastor. And this is how we must continue this movement in the future, united in faith. Any other approach, I believe, leads to despair rather than hope.

Up-dated: Added 10-21-16 ~ Celebrating 25 Years of Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court: His Close Friend Spills the Beans ~

(Longtime friend Mark) Paoletta believes Justice Thomas will leave “a robust judicial legacy of original meaning jurisprudence.” More importantly, perhaps, he has been and will be “an inspiring figure who was born into poverty in the segregated deep south to serve as a Supreme Court Justice.”

His other legacy is of a man who overcome an almost unprecedented public attack when he was nominated for the court, and years of criticism and insults since, and done so with great and rare dignity.

Obama cracks us up

obamasblameshame

Here’s President Obama’s full statement, uttered during a news conference today with Italian Prime Minister Renzi. This was part of his response after being asked if he was concerned that the upcoming election results might be distrusted, given Donald Trump’s recent claim that the voting is rigged ~

If you start whining before the game’s even over, if whenever things are going badly for you and you lose, you start blaming somebody else, then you don’t have what it takes to be in this job . . . I’d invite Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes.

Source: White House Dossier

This, from the guy who’s spent the last eight years blaming everyone else for every problem he created or exacerbated? The man’s definitely got a career in comedy waiting for him when he leaves the White House.

Barack Obama Blames Everyone for His Failures but Himself ~ This Jan. 2014 article at Freedom Outpost includes a fairly comprehensive list of the various issues Obama refuses to take responsibility. His most frequent scapegoats have been George W. Bush of course, Congress, Republicans and Fox News.

The Name of Obama’s Game Is Blame ~ This piece is a couple years old also. Back in 2013 he was blaming the sluggish economy, terrible unemployment numbers and ballooning deficts on everyone but himself ~

“With an endless parade of distractions, political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball,” the president said recently in the first of a series of campaign-style speeches. “Over the last six months, this gridlock has gotten worse. I didn’t think that was possible.”

Leaving aside the curious claim that widespread IRS abuses and administration untruths about the tragedy in Benghazi are illegitimate areas of inquiry, blaming “Washington” is not just a reflexive response by a politician with declining job approval ratings. It’s part of an orchestrated attempt by the president and his image makers to evade accountability for the results of his governance.

Make no mistake, when Obama says “Washington,” he doesn’t mean himself, and he doesn’t mean his fellow Democrats, even though they controlled both houses of Congress during his first two years in the White House. He means Republicans, Tea Party activists, fiscal conservatives and, of course, the Bush-era economy he inherited 5½ years ago.

Help stop YouTube from censoring PragerU videos

This is nuts.
Prager U produces some great, informative videos on a variety of topics. I’ve posted several, for example here, here and here. None are violent, profane, racist, sexually provacative – they would all earn PGs from the motion picture rating system. And yet it seems the PC police at YouTube have seen fit to ban several of them.

thoughtpoliceSmlrCurrently, 21 of Prager U videos have been placed on the “restricted list.” Here is a sample of the titles ~

• Are The Police Racist?

• Why Don’t Feminists Fight for Muslim Women?

• Why Did America Fight the Korean War?

• Who’s More Pro-Choice: Europe or America?

• What ISIS Wants

• Why Are There Still Palestinian Refugees?

• Are 1 in 5 Women Raped at College?

• The Most Important Question About Abortion

• What is the University Diversity Scam?

• Israel’s Legal Founding

Sound highly offensive don’t they? No. The common denominator is that the proposals put forth by these videos upset various progressive narratives.

Notice a few trends? You Tube is apparently pro-abortion, anti-cop, radically feminist, anti-Semitic and possibly anti-American (Why censor a commentary on the Korean War? Are they on Kim Jong-un’s side?). And they don’t want the sheeple getting any “extremist” ideas to the contrary.

If you agree that this censorship is not only ridiculous but downright scary in a “free” society, please go HERE and sign the petition to have these valuable resources made available once again. And you might want to visit Prager U’s YouTube channel and watch several of their short educational and entertaining videos to help spike their popularity ratings.

Putin curtails religious freedom in Russia

So Michael Savage tells me “Trump wants to work with Putin.” Hmmm… On what specifically? Putin’s invasion of Crimea – and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine? His ambitions for reclaiming the Baltics? Perhaps they’ll confer over the “dozens” of underground bunkers being built in Moscow and around the country over the last few years. Or maybe they’ll chat about the hacking Russia has been doing into U.S. election systems?…

Here’s something I’m pretty sure many evangelical Christians would like to see the two “work” on ~ Putin Signs Law Restricting Religious Expression, Invitations to Church.

yarovayalaw3
In July Vladimir Putin signed a new bill – “Yarovaya Law” – a piece of legislation that looks likes an ominous return to the bad old days of soviet repression. Authored by Irina Yarovaya, it’s ostensibly an anti-terrorism measure, but critics are calling it the “Death of the Russian Constitution.” New policies include ~

• the new law makes it a crime not to report information about terrorist attacks and other, even much smaller crimes (throwback to the days when in the Soviet Union neighbors were writing false reports on each other out of fear being punished)

• requires telecoms to assist the government to break into encrypted messages (the stocks for those telecoms crashed the day the law was signed)

• increases the strongest penalty for “extremism” from four to eight years of imprisonment (posts on Russian social network VK that promote something unappealing for Kremlin are considered extremism as well)

• children as young as fourteen are now considered old enough to be locked up

Most unsettling for evangelicals, pentecostals, Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists and other religious minorities is how the law will significantly curtail missionary activities ~

(P)roselytizing, preaching, praying, or disseminating religious materials outside of “specially designated places,” like officially recognized religion institutions are considered a punishable crime.

That this provision is directly aimed at Christian – or marginally Christian – faiths, other than the state-endorsed Russian Orthodox Church, is plainly evident because it prohibits proselytizing in people’s homes, where many evangelicals gather for worship and home groups, as well as on-the-street evangelism. (Source: FEBC.NZ)

As John Murdock wrote at The Stream back in July ~

The Russian Orthodox Church which has increasingly become intertwined in a nationalistic dance with the state since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 will likely retain legal access to the people, but all others will be forced to either jump through hoops that may be well closed to them or take their message underground. Russian believers have been praying and fasting and asking their brothers and sisters around the world to join them, but amid holiday activities celebrating freedom few in America have any inkling of what is happening.

And most still don’t.

Since the “Yarovaya Law” was passed in July, numerous Christians have been arrested, charged and fined. World Watch Monitor lists several of the known incidents in this report on a missionary couple, Don and Ruth Ossewaarde who have lived in Russia for 14 years ~
ossewaardes

The Ossewaardes received a visit from three police officers on the morning of Sunday 14 August, as they conducted a service. They requested that the police waited until the service had finished, after which they were driven to the local police station. Mr. Ossewaarde was then charged and taken straight to court. He was declared “guilty” two hours later and fined (40,000 roubles – US$640)

After his appeal was rejected this week, he wrote an update on the couple’s blog: “Obviously, this is a disappointment. I was hoping to wrap things up here and return to my family as soon as possible [his wife has returned to America], but the issue is an important one, and duty demands that I press the case as far as I can […]

“I assured [my lawyer] that I would keep pressing the appeal all the way to the highest court, and he assured me that this case will play an important role in determining the future of religious freedom in Russia, not just for foreign missionaries, but also for ordinary Russian believers.”

Ossewaarde added that his court-appointed lawyer had advised the couple to leave Oryol “because anything might happen to him and his family”.

Yep, that certainly sounds like the old totalitarian Soviet Union doesn’t it? Submit – or it’s off to the gulag.

If Donald Trump truly wanted to appeal to evangelicals, and was serious about defending Americans’ religious freedoms, he surely could have denounced this draconian legislation. Or might there just be a conflict of interest in doing so? ➡ Russia lodges complaint about UN official’s criticism of Donald Trump ~

(Sept. 13, 2016) Apparently (Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s ambassador to the UN) angrily protested two of (UN’s high commissioner for human rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein’s) speeches in which he denounced ‘demagogues’ and specifically targeted Trump, as well as several populist leaders in Europe – going as far as likening their tactics to Isis propaganda.

In a speech delivered three months before the Republican National Convention, Zeid said: ‘Less than 150 miles away from where I speak, a front-running candidate to be president of this country declared, just a few months ago, his enthusiastic support for torture.’

So Putin’s got Trump’s back? Or perhaps working with Putin means drafting similar measures here? Just saying…

Seven Things the Donald Trump Wrecking Ball Has Exposed in Our Culture ~ If the lead-up to this election has proven nothing else it’s that American society is definitely devolving. An insightful article from Dr. Michael Brown ~

The bottom line for me is simple, regardless of who you plan to vote for (and I don’t write this to discourage a vote for Trump): God has used Trump to expose a lot of what is wrong with America, and it is not a pretty sight.

Liberal Student Rejects Science Because it Discriminates Against Witchcraft ~ Remember when detachment from reality used to be considered psychotic? ~

“Science as a whole is a product of Western modernity and the whole thing should be scratched off,” the student declared Wednesday, to nervous laughter. She actually called for her fellows to “restart science from an African perspective, from our perspective.” How do you “restart science from an African perspective?” By practicing “black magic.”

Hormonal contraception linked to depression ~ As we’ve probably all noticed, every new drug advertised on TV comes with a conspicuous list of all the possible complications associated with the product. But you have to wonder whether contraceptive manufacturers are somehow immune from the requirement to inform their target users. A recent – and comprehensive – study from Denmark found ~

• users of hormonal contraception had a 40% greater risk of depression after six months of use than non-users
• the risk of depression varies by birth control type: the combined pill (which has both estrogen and progestin) users were 23% more likely than non-users to be prescribed an antidepressant by their doctor; women on progestin-only pills were 34% more likely to take antidepressants; and other forms of hormonal birth control (e.g. IUDs, the patch, and the ring) were shown to have a higher correlation to depression than either kind of pill

Why Do We Love Lucy? ~ Although October 15th is National “I Love Lucy Day” this article from Answers-in-Genesis is talking about “Lucy” the fossil, not the 50’s TV show.

Devil wants to confuse children about gender: late chief Rome exorcist ~

(Father Gabriele) Amorth warned that many of the devil’s “ordinary” temptations are passed off as “modern ideas” but really serve to “unhinge the principles of the faith.” These include abortion, same-sex “marriage,” euthanasia, divorce, and cohabitation, Amorth wrote.

“The loss of a sense of sin that characterizes our era helps Satan to act nearly undisturbed and, inducing man to sin, takes man progressively away from the love of God,” Amorth wrote. Suggestions like “everyone does it” applied to grave sins “weaken the consciences of men and women and lead them toward closing their hearts, egoism, lack of forgiveness, and doing everything for money, power, and sex.”

How Half Of America Lost Its F**king Mind ~ Yes, you can tell from the title that this one’s not rated PG (after all it’s from “Cracked,” a Mad Magazine clone from way back when) but it is an interesting commentary on the great American divide and this polarized election. Sad. But mostly true ~

The foundation upon which America was undeniably built — family, faith, and hard work — had been deemed unfashionable and small-minded. Those snooty elites up in their ivory tower laughed as they kicked away that foundation, and then wrote 10,000-word thinkpieces blaming the builders for the ensuing collapse.

Liberty Students Issue Anti-Trump Statement After Falwell Reaffirms Support For Trump ~ On Wednesday, Liberty University’s president, Jerry Falwell, Jr., said that he’d continue to support Trump for president, even if the recent allegations of sexual assaults against him turned out to be true. Not everyone at the college is quite so committed ~

A coalition of students dubbing themselves “Liberty University Against Trump” released a statement distancing themselves from Falwell’s endorsement and from Trump’s candidacy […]

(Excerpt) “Associating any politician with Christianity is damaging to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But Donald Trump is not just any politician. He has made his name by maligning others and bragging about his sins. Not only is Donald Trump a bad candidate for president, he is actively promoting the very things that we as Christians ought to oppose.”

Former Haitian Senate President Calls Clintons ‘Common Thieves Who Should Be in Jail’ ~ The easily duped still believe Hillary really “cares.” Maybe they should talk to this guy ~

An eyewitness to the Clinton Foundation’s corrupt dealings in Haiti says virtually nothing has been done to help the victims of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti that claimed an estimated 200,000 lives, and that the Clintons are nothing but common thieves who should be in jail.

And then there was “the fly.” Sultan Knish’s commentary on the insect that landed on Hillary during the last debate ~

The folly of the Clintons has outweighed any wisdom and honor they might have had. They have gained enormous wealth and prestige, yet even their own supporters despise their rottenness.

The only creature attracted to them is the fly […]

Putrefaction is what the Clintons brought to America. The fly is their perfect symbol. They are greedy creatures of rot, surrounded by filth and wallowing in their own vileness.

The media may not be able to scent the rot of the Clintons, but a humble housefly can.

Leaked Emails Show Clinton Camp Mocking Catholics. And yet ~ Poll: Catholics Support Hillary Clinton, Gay Marriage. Go figure.

Hungary Helps Persecuted Christians, Bans Muslim Immigration ~ Here’s one European nation that’s got its priorities right. Hungary has become the first country that’s set up a department to specifically address the persecution of Christians in the Middle East and Europe. Their Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, recognizes the evil hand of George Soros behind the Muslim hijrah (invasion).

Crybaby college kids offered counseling for ‘offensive’ Halloween costumes ~ According to the University of Florida…

“Some Halloween costumes reinforce stereotypes of particular races, genders, cultures, or religions. Regardless of intent, these costumes can perpetuate negative stereotypes, causing harm and offense to groups of people.” […]

The school reminded students that anyone who is offended or troubled by an incident or a costume, they could seek counseling at the wellness center or alert the school’s Bias Education Response Team which provides support to those who were impacted.

Is this pathetic or what? No doubt the “hobo” costumes we used to “go begging” in as kids would require serious counseling today! 😀

Happy Birthday William Penn!

This is a re-post of a piece I wrote five years ago. Our country is in even worse shape today. America is dying for lack of wise and principled Christian readers like Penn.

William Penn (1644-1718), founder of the Province of Pennsylvania, was born in London on October 14th, 1644. He entered Oxford University at age 16 and while there, rejected Anglicanism and began attending unauthorized Quaker prayer meetings. Moved by that experience, his heart was changed and he determined to devote his life to the spread of Christianity.*

Penn’s “religious nonconformity” resulted in his expulsion from Oxford, after which, his father sent him to a Protestant college in France, to complete his education. In his early twenties he spent a year in the Tower of London for writing a book attacking Trinitarian doctrines.

Thereafter, and until he left for the New World, he was regularly in trouble with the authorities and frequently imprisoned for his outspoken Christian views. His family was not thrilled. But these trials didn’t seem to faze him; he made productive use of his prison time, continuing with his theological writing.

Penn’s father was Admiral Sir William Penn. Upon his death in 1670, the Duke of York (future King Charles II) owed him huge sum of money. Unable to come up with the cash, he awarded a huge land grant (including present-day Pennsylvania and New Jersey) in America, to William as heir. Penn was made absolute proprietor of the territory and arrived in the New World in 1682. He named the land Pennsylvania, which means “Penn’s woods,” after his father.

Penn set out to make the province a haven for all persecuted denominations including, Quakers, Mennonites, Lutherans, Church of the Brethren and Moravians.* Guided by the commandment to “love thy neighbor,” he dealt fairly with the native Indians, earning their friendship and allegiance. Because men and women were equal in God’s sight, he insisted that women deserved equal rights with men. He believed in a “divine right of government” and sought to form the government of Pennsylvania as a “holy experiment” in governing.*

Borrowing from his friend John Locke’s philosophy, he set forth the governing structure for Pennsylvania in his “Frame of Government of Pennsylvania,” considered by many to be ahead of its time. Thomas Jefferson called Penn “the greatest law-giver the world has produced.”

From Wikipedia:

After Penn’s death, many of his legal and political innovations took root. His “Frame of Government” and his other ideas were later studied by Benjamin Franklin as well as the pamphleteer of the American Revolution, Thomas Paine, whose father was a Quaker. Among Penn’s legacies was the unwillingness to force a Quaker majority upon Pennsylvania, allowing his state to develop into a successful “melting pot”. In addition, Thomas Jefferson and the founding Fathers adapted Penn’s theory of an amendable constitution and his vision that “all men are equal under God” in forming the federal government following the American Revolution.

Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love”, along with other towns in Pennsylvania, was designed by Penn with a grid pattern of streets, buildings, and public squares to promote health and fire safety. Following his death, Philadelphia continued to thrive, becoming one of the most populous colonial cities in the British Empire, reaching about 30,000 by the American Revolution, and becoming a center of commerce, science, medicine, and politics.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All told, the life and legacy of William Penn puts a huge lie to the Left’s revisionist claim that America was not founded by Christians – on biblical principles. Penn’s achievements were all the result of acting on his Christian worldview, following God’s word. With his faith to guide him, he demonstrated how people from different races and religions can live together in peace and prosperity.
“When it is tried, Christian faith will stand the test of trials ~
and is part of embracing the cross.”
~ Wm. Penn ~
The complete implausibility of Evolution
If you still believe it’s remotely possible that Charles Darwin was right about his theory of evolution you need to watch this video. Discussing DNA, amino acids, protein construction and nano-scale molecular machines, Jonathan McLatchie (at Answering Muslims) does an excellent job of explaining that intelligent design is the only plausible explanation for the existence of life on this planet.
While the technical jargon is a bit difficult to keep up with at times, you can understand the basic concepts without grasping every detail; it’s definitely worthwhile watching the whole thing. McLatchie has included several clips which are as informative as they are entertaining. I laughed out loud in a couple places to think that people can actually still hold to the belief that this incredibly complex coding, which directs an intricate process of protein construction and enables the operation of micro-molecular machines could ever – given all the time in the universe – evolve on its own. The odds are simply inconceivable ~
Soros’ role in corrupting Christianity
georgeSorosWake up church! ~ Christian Leaders Warn of Soros-Funded “Hijack” of Christian Left. A large coalition of evangelical leaders have authored “A Call to Repentance & Renewal” directed at Christian pastors, leaders and believers who have been facilitating the “anti-Christian Progressive political movement” in America ~
As recent leaked documents confirm, and as Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourners eventually admitted, wealthy, anti-Christian foundations, following the lead of billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundation, fund and “rent” Christian ministers as “mascots” serving as surprising validators for their causes. The consequent realities include injury to countless people, the Church, the family, nation and the global Church including many martyrs.
Many Christians have watched for years with growing concern and sadness as so many self-identifying “Christians” continue to support political candidates who hold unbiblical positions on family, abortion, open borders and “social justice.” In a transformation that’s been deliberately fostered by progressives, their worldview has been gradually transformed to one that’s almost antithetical to Christianity. And George Soros has been a key force behind that transformation. Fostering global elitism, his foundation promotes social breakdown and the destruction of the middle class ~
Joining “faith” fronts, Soros also funds thousands of other collaborators and projects that suggest his goal is to demoralize America (and Europe). The list includes: film studios and hundreds of media outlets; attempts to control the internet; racial and gender agitation; euthanasia; drug legalization and “injection zones;” abortion and the “sex worker” industry; Al Gore’s Climate campaign; pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel projects; the rights of jihadists and Sharia advocates.
In the ironic rhetoric of compassion, Soros and friends also fund mass immigration followed by voting “rights” and redistricting schemes, while financing the campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. (Soros is a major donor to the Democratic Party and co-chairman of Ready for Hillary PAC.)
If it’s destructive of the civil society and true Christian faith you can bet George Soros and his minions are behind it.
“Tolerance [of evil] is not a spiritual gift; it is the
distinguishing mark of postmodernism, and sadly, it has
permeated the very fiber of Christianity.”
Rev. Dr. John Stott
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here’s an excerpt of the evangelical appeal ~

… (W)hy do those who claim to share our faith in Christ continue to advocate for politicians who will pass legislation, and appoint justices and judges who will attack Christian liberty and persecute believers? Turning our nation over to the enemies of biblical faith does not honor Christ, promote love of neighbor, or advance God’s kingdom in the world.

We ask those who have intentionally or unwittingly aided the Progressive agenda in the past to look at the actual consequences of their policies. Please stop inviting fellow believers to assist global profiteers and political activists who are determined to de-Christianize America. Please repent, refuse funding and turn away from those who attack the Church and injure the nation.

Only the Gospel restores hope. Let us return to the whole counsel of Scripture, not the political abuse of Scripture. Together, we can commit to healing, wisdom and renewal of our faith and culture. Let’s stimulate humility and gratitude, not pride and entitlement. Let’s see the image of God in people and enable the virtuous cycle of creativity, opportunity, work, productivity, wealth and thus greater voluntary generosity.

To the Church in every nation, now is the time to pray, to speak and to act with Godly courage. If America continues to fall, the mission of the global Church also suffers. We are bound together. Let us stand together.

Globalism Is Anti-Christ, Demonic, Theologians Argue ~

While many definitions for globalism exist, a wide chasm separates 1) necessary global exchanges in an increasingly interconnected world, like trade, legal immigration, and the cooperation and sharing of ideas across borders, and 2) globalism as a secular humanistic religion of sorts that envisons a one-world government.

For the second definition of globalism, such views are antithetical to a Christian worldview, according to some, even as the Church itself is global and the Kingdom of God is not constrained by national borders.

“A major objection to globalism from a spiritual and biblical point of view is that many of the globalists are pushing for a global value system,” (see Soros agenda above) said Wallace Henley, senior associate pastor of 2nd Baptist Church in Houston, TX […]

“The Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is the highest form of civilization. The anti-civilization represented by anti-Christ is the opposite of that. So if the kingdom of Christ is righteousness, the anti-civilization is evil and injustice. If the kingdom of Christ is peace, the Kingdom of anti-Christ is conflict. If the Kingdom of Christ is joy in the Holy Spirit, anti-civilization is misery.”

Windmills cause blackout in Oz

For whatever reason we rarely get much in the way of news from the land down under, which is unfortunate, because this story from South Australia last week was a real teachable moment for climate alarmists: when energy is the question, windfarms are not the answer ~

Australian Energy Market Operator report says wind farms were the ultimate cause of blackout, network withstood pylon downings ~

[The hours-long blackout occurred throughout the entire state of South Australia last Wednesday, Oct. 5th]

ecoblackout-saustralia

While ecos and wind farm proponents tried to blame the blackout on downed powerlines, a detailed report from AEMO shows it was actually wind farms that were the cause […]

“The Preliminary Report makes it clear that while the weather was responsible for multiple transmission system faults, the blackout did not occur until after the sudden loss of 315 megawatts of wind output at six separate sites over a six second period.”

Never fear – fossil fuels to the rescue ~

Gas generation continued through the storm and the transmission line faults as did supply from the interconnector. Importantly, it was also the Torrens Island gas-fired Power Station that was used to re-start the electricity network later that evening.”

“When you rely on the weather to generate electricity, and the weather turns bad, then you shouldn’t be surprised when your electricity system in turn cannot cope.” “While renewables may very well have a place in our future energy needs, their uncontrolled rollout, powered by federal and state government subsidies is starting to do Australia damage.”

“Demand-limiting kill switches and blackouts are symbols of policy failure. It is not the role of government to favour one energy technology or provider over another. Government should be encouraging competition in a free and open market so that technology and the private sector are free to work out the best energy sources.”

Common sense should tell us what became all too obvious in Australia last week; wind farms are simply not a realiable source of energy.

Annual “Trash Columbus Day”

Another Columbus Day, another progressive attack on Western Civilization ~ National Geographic wants to indoctrinate your kids this Columbus Day. Why? Because according to the Left, the only civilization that’s made the world a worse place than they found it is Western European Christendom. After all, who really needs science, literacy, music, medicine, education, architecture, democracy, emancipation, technology, human rights and… indoor plumbing?

Axing History. Last October 12th in downtown Detroit…

For those who’d like the truth about Columbus, Carly Hoilman set the record straight at Conservative Review ~

The modern consensus of American textbooks and liberal historians seems to be that Christopher Columbus was a vainglorious, bigoted xenophobe, whose primary motivation lay in the financial gain that awaited him in the New World. But this common interpretation of Columbus’ life points to facts about the great 15th century explorer’s religious faith that the liberal Left conveniently ignore.

By reading Columbus’ own journals, which are widely available in print and online, one will see evidence of an ordinary man who exemplified extraordinary devotion to, first, his God, and then his native Spain […]

Columbus is widely believed to have been a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, a group composed of faithful Catholic laypeople committed to the practices of self-denial and simplicity of living, among other virtues. Part of his mission entailed evangelizing the indigenous peoples of the New World.

According to cultural anthropologist Carol Delaney, Columbus admired the natives he encountered and “found them to be very intelligent.” He referred to them as “natural Christians,” for though most did not practice faith of any kind, their kindness and simplicity made them particularly conducive to Christian teachings.

What about the money? We all know that in 1492 Columbus “sailed the ocean blue,” but often omitted from the leftist (a)historical narrative are the events surrounding the expedition. A year prior to his 1492 voyage, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella had successfully driven the Moors (Muslims) out of Spain, but the prospect of future attacks and already-depleted funds made Columbus’ efforts all the more urgent.

“Everybody knows that Columbus was trying to find gold, but they don’t know what the gold was for: to fund a crusade to take Jerusalem back from the Muslims before the end of the world,” Delaney, author of “Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem,” explains.

Columbus left behind a lasting legacy in the both the religious and civic realms of society. The Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization of nearly 2 million members grounded in community service and intellectual pursuit, was founded in 1882 to honor and emulate the explorer’s life. The Knights recently received the 2016 World’s Most Ethical Company honor from the Ethisphere Institute.

Christopher Columbus himself acknowledged that he had flaws like any other man, but to portray him as a greedy, genocidal maniac is to slander his name and turn a blind eye to his remarkable achievements.

The basic premise of the Left’s worldview is wrong (so everything else they preach can’t help but be incorrect). It’s based on the false assumption that humankind is perfectible – even though it’s self-evident to every human who’s ever been one that that’s completely impossible. It’s only the unequaled hubris of progressives that enables them to look back over history, judge our ancestors through the lens of 21st century mores, and declare themselves superior in every way to anyone else who ever lived.

Ignore them. Celebrate Columbus, the founding of America – and indoor plumbing.

Why We Celebrate Columbus Day (Instead of “Indigenous People’s Day) ~

People have a right to celebrate their heritage, culture and traditions. But there’s a difference between celebrating your own culture and creating a false narrative to hypocritically attack a culture that you have shamelessly appropriated. The rationale for replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous People’s Day is entirely disconnected from historical reality. Indian life in pre-Columbian America was vastly harder in every conceivable way than it is today. Indians thus have reason to celebrate Columbus Day. Thanks to European colonization and the introduction of Western civilization their lives are immeasurably better than those of their ancestors.

Up-dated: Added 10-16-16 ~ The End of Columbus Day is the End of America ~

(T)his is about more than one single 15th century Genoan with a complicated life who was neither a monster nor a saint. It is about whether America really has any right to exist at all. Is there any argument against celebrating Columbus Day, that cannot similarly be applied to the Fourth of July? […]

If the settlement of non-Indians in North America is illegitimate, then any national state they created is also illegitimate.

It is easier to hack away at a nation’s history by beginning with the lower branches[…]

A nation’s mythology, its paragons and heroes, its founding legends and great deeds, are its soul. To replace them with another culture’s perspective on its history is to kill that soul.

Which of course is precisely the goal.

It’s not a “phobia” when the fear is justified

Tonight’s presidential debate had the requisite pre-qualified question from a “random” audience member for Donald Trump about his “islamaphobic” position (whatever that may be today) on Muslim immigration. My question is why don’t we ever get to discuss the ubiquitous persecution of Christians in predominantly Muslim countries? Like this recent outrage for instance?
crossinhandsChristian boy, 16, facing DEATH PENALTY for offending Muslims in Facebook post ~

Pakistan. The boy has been arrested and charged with blasphemy after a photo of the Kaaba in Mecca, one of the holiest sites in Islam, appeared on his profile. The black cube-shape is built around an ancient stone at the centre of Islam’s most sacred mosque Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Locals reportedly claimed the image showed the Kaaba with a pig’s head on top. (The Facebook post has since been deleted.)

Shahbaz Ahmed, a police official, said an informant contacted officers over a post “hurting religious sentiments of Muslims and desecrating the religious place.”

He said the boy “had done a great injustice to us by badly hurting our religious feelings”.

(Sounds like a leftist college student in need of a safe space.)

Is it “islamaphobic” to believe that expressing oneself on Facebook shouldn’t result in a death sentence?

His family have been forced to flee their home in Bhai Pheru for fear of violence as their sons awaits trial in prison.

Wilson Chowdhry, chairman of the British Pakistani Christian Association, said: “This incident again underlines the worthlessness of Christians in Pakistan. A 16-year-old boy who has been accused of a blasphemy, has been placed in a prison without any proper investigation.

“Social media can be a force for good or for bad, and we are all too aware of trolling in the west. However few understand the blasphemy entrapment Christians can face in Pakistan and often on flimsiest evidence, for which I can see social media becoming an ever more prolific weapon.

Note to false narrative planters ➡ It’s only a “phobia” if the fear is irrational.

Pakistan: Christian boy, 16, arrested for Kaaba ‘blasphemy’ ~ Writing about persecution in Pakistan, World Watch Monitor also reported ~

Meanwhile, a poor Christian neighbourhood in a remote village 20 miles south of Faisalabad came under attack after Muslim Friday prayers on 16 September.

Five people were hospitalised, including two women who also faced public humiliation after their clothes were torn, but police said the injuries were not sufficient for the formal registration of a case.

At least 20 men armed with sticks and firearms attacked the Christian neighbourhood – in the village of Chajwal, in the Samundri district. The incident took place only the day after the Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs, Khalil Tahir Sandhu, told local media that “minorities in Pakistan are more secured (sic) than [in] other countries of the region” […]

Hundreds of Christians from the village gathered together on Sunday evening (18 Sep.) and resolved to seek justice. They told World Watch Monitor the attackers must have had support from local politicians, which is why the police had refused to officially register the case, and said they were fearful of further attacks.
