Christmas on Lockdown: Beefed Up Security Across Europe In Wake of Berlin ~ Islamists achieve objective ~

Many Christmas markets are closed in Germany today and police in the UK, France, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Italy, and other European nations are tightening security at festive events, with the terror threat at its highest level across much of the continent.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The crazy Islamists are taking it (the war on Christmas) to a whole new level.
Last month there were warnings that radical Muslims in Europe were planning to disrupt annual Christmas festivities ~
“Credible information indicates the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil or Da’esh), al-Qaeda, and their affiliates continue to plan terrorist attacks in Europe, with a focus on the upcoming holiday season and associated events.
Obviously they weren’t kidding ~
Truck Rams Crowded German Christmas Market, Killing 12
BERLIN (AP) — A truck rammed into a crowded Christmas market in central Berlin on Monday evening, killing 12 people and injuring nearly 50 as it smashed through tables and wooden stands. Police said a suspect believed to be the driver was arrested nearby and a passenger died as paramedics were treating him.
The popular Christmas market outside the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was filled with a mix of tourists and locals when the large Scania truck hurtled into it. Germany’s top security official said initial evidence pointed to an intentional act, and the White House condemned “what appears to have been a terrorist attack.”
UK Daily Mail has more ~
The man at the wheel – who according to German newspaper Berliner used different aliases, was of Afghan heritage and had arrived in Germany in February – fled the scene before being arrested at a nearby zoo.
Police confirmed the original driver, who was transporting steel beams from Poland to Germany, was a Polish national who was found dead in the lorry’s cabin. It is thought he was hijacked.
As German police, the White House and Germany’s top security official indicated the incident was terror related, there was a chilling echo of the deadly terror attack in the French city of Nice in July. It also came just one hour after the Russian ambassador was shot dead in Ankara.
(Ah, just another hapless refugee then. Thanks Angela Merkel.)
berlinxmasattack2
What’s almost more tragic than the murders of innocent people is that these jihadis are attempting to kill the true Spirit of Christmas, the very thing that could heal their souls – and save them from eternal damnation.
The last word on Aleppo
No, really, the very last. I’ll admit to being a bit obsessed about Aleppo the last few weeks, but with good reason. That beleaguered city – now liberated from the rebel insurgency – stands as a reminder of all that’s been wrong with Washington’s hawkish meddling in the Middle East for the past several years.
aleppo_12-16
Finian Cunningham shares his opinion on the whole fiasco in “Bitter in Aleppo Defeat, US and EU Seek to Further Demonize Russia.” Although the site that published this article (Strategic-Culture.org) seems far too supportive of Russia and other non-Western regimes in its commentary, this particular analysis certainly rings true ~
Instead of celebrating with the people of Syria over the liberation of Aleppo from terrorists; instead of sending massive humanitarian aid to the tens of thousands of civilians freed after being held under siege for four years by terrorist gangs; instead of commending Russia for its decisive role in restoring peace to Syria’s second biggest city, the US and European Union turn reality on its head and further demonize Moscow.
The perverse behavior by Washington and its European satraps is simply a case of sour grapes. Very sour grapes.
They have been proven spectacularly wrong about Syria. The liberation of Aleppo this week exposes the Western governments and media in their unrelenting falsehoods and systematic complicity in the Syrian war. This was never a pro-democracy uprising. It was a Western-backed criminal regime-change operation that was unleashed in March 2011, and which is now staring at ignominious defeat.
The blood of up to half a million people and many more maimed is on the hands of American and European governments.
OK, that last part’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there’s no question we kicked a hornet’s next over there.
It is no coincidence that Barack Obama this week invoked his putative presidential authority to double down on US intelligence claims that Russia hacked into the American elections to get Donald Trump into the White House. The stakes were raised to new unwieldy heights with White House claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally sanctioned the alleged hacking of Hillary Clinton’s emails. And Obama is now recklessly warning that his country will respond with cyber-warfare “at a place and time of our choosing”.
barryvlad
Funny, Barack and Vlad seemed to be the best of pals a few years back…
[And don’t you find it odd that he and his minions didn’t seem to care when Hillary was selling off our uranium supply to the Russians?]
As for the president’s feeble threats ~
(W)here is the evidence either from Obama on alleged Russian cyberattacks to subvert the American presidential election or from the EU on alleged Russian (and Syrian) atrocities in Aleppo. There is, glaringly, no evidence. Yet on the back of breathless assertions, Washington is threatening to “retaliate,” and European leaders are slapping more damaging sanctions on Russia. This is an insane policy of unjustified aggression […]
… respected former US intelligence experts have cogently argued that Washington’s claims of Russian hacking are completely spurious.
As for the American and European claims about “massacres” in Aleppo, amplified by the dutiful mainstream media all week, there is neither evidence nor testimonies from the tens of thousands of civilians pouring out of the former terror enclaves. The reckless claims are merely propaganda rumors put out by terrorist apologists and recycled by Western media.
Perversely unreported in the Western media are the real stories of civilians having lived under horror imposed by the Western-backed so-called “rebels.” Largely unreported by the Western media is the dominant mood of celebration and relief among civilians for having been liberated by the combined efforts of the Syrian army and its Russian, Iranian and Lebanese allies.
aleppo-evacuations
Notice how all the hot air has suddenly gone out of the sensational reporting on Syria? The real facts don’t support the myths the media has been peddling (so they just ignore the whole story and move on) ~
Where are the “moderate rebels” now that the veil of secrecy has finally been lifted from eastern Aleppo? Where are the so-called neutral rescuers belonging to the White Helmets, who only a few weeks ago Western media were championing for a Nobel peace prize? They are all piling on to the same buses with the jihadi terrorists to be evacuated to nearby Idlib city as part of a surrender deal.
In other words, the West has been all along backing terrorists, and now their terrorist proxies are seen by the whole world as being routed from Aleppo after four years of holding the eastern side of the city hostage.
Read the rest of Cunningham’s article HERE.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sadly, as interest in Aleppo fades due to lack of lurid mainstream media coverage, the truth may never get out. Instead, the false narrative of the Islamists will remain embedded in the minds of many, which perversely advances their nefarious agenda – on the bodies of thousands of their fellow Syrians.

advent4

O Lord, raise up (we pray Thee) Thy power, and come among us, and with great might succor us;
that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, Thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us;
through the satisfaction of Thy Son our Lord, to whom with Thee and the Holy Ghost be honour and glory, world without end. ~ Amen

Saturday Shorts – 12-17-16

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Hilarious. Vagina Monologues Kicked Off Campus as Too Cisgender! ~ Some day soon political correctness just has to self-destruct ~

And parents are paying $46,000 per year to have their children twisted into insanity. And make no mistake, that’s what it is. They are teaching these young women to deny reality. It’s sad.

Santa’s Shrinking Reindeer Blamed On Arctic Climate Change ~ Good grief! What won’t the alarmists blame on global warming?

Anti-Muslim hate crime hoaxer’s sister blames the NYPD ~ Yasmin Seweid made up her hate crime story as cover for being out late (and clearly she has every reason to be afraid of her father, who forced her to shave her head) but now ~

The sister of the Muslim teen who lied about being harassed to avoid parental punishment for breaking curfew posted a Facebook rant blaming the NYPD and the media for her sister’s lies.

It should be clear by now that the religion-of-peace is incompatible with the civil society.

A Rape At Standing Rock ~ Well it was attempted rape – but this comparison does clearly expose Rolling Stone’s laughable double standards.

Pastor Tells Kids at Texas Mall: ‘Santa Claus Does Not Exist’ ~ So much wrong with the world today and this dude chooses to make this his crusade?

A pastor made a scene on Friday by preaching about the falsehood of Santa Claus at a mall. He walked around the Santa exhibit, where kids and parents stood in line to see Santa, shouting that Santa isn’t real and that Christmas is about Jesus Christ.

‘Luxury’ living: Senate report finds IRS workers racked up huge travel tab ~ Brings a whole new meaning to the term “public servant” ~

The IRS spent more than $1.4 million on long-term travel for just 27 employees in fiscal 2015, including on high-end car services and luxury apartment and hotel stays, a Senate report has found — with one lawmaker blasting “woefully insufficient efforts” to reduce expenses at the agency.

Iran: church retreat centre confiscated for ‘being funded by CIA’ ~ Right, a religious organization funded by the CIA is totally plausible ~

The Iranian government has assumed control of a church-owned retreat centre, accusing the church of being funded by the US government and the CIA.
The government said the retreat centre in Karaj, a city just west of Tehran, belonged to an organisation “funded by the US through the CIA spy agency to infiltrate the Islamic world, and particularly Iran, by conducting evangelistic activities”.

Article 18, a London-based NGO, says the move represents a “renewed phase” in the government’s crackdown on Protestant churches, “with intensifying efforts to confiscate remaining properties [that] belong to Evangelical churches”.

Turkey apparently thinks all Christians are spies also ~ American Pastor Andrew Brunson Wrongfully Imprisoned In Turkey ~ I mentioned this in my earlier post and bring it up again because no one else is talking about it ~

An American pastor, Andrew Brunson, has been falsely charged with “membership in an armed terrorist organization.” Turkey has imprisoned this American pastor without any evidence. He has been a Christian pastor in Turkey for the past 23 years.

Meanwhile, in Britain ~ Thousands of Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” march in London, demand caliphate ~ “Cultural enrichment” ~

The British government is indeed made up of fools, and clearly these Islamic supremacists know it, and are so confident that they can even call them fools to their face and know that no roadblocks will be placed in the path of their pursuit of a caliphate in Britain.

Marijuana Goes Mainstream: Newport Cigarettes to Introduce ‘Marijuana Cigarettes’

Although I’m a libertarian conservative myself, I do believe that this development should give us pause, not because marijuana is so dangerous (it isn’t) [That’s debatable], but because I and other libertarians have long advocated legalizing all drugs. If that results in drugs producers having the right to actively promote their product, we may have to reconsider. After all, I’m quite sure none of us want to live in a world in which heroine dealers can put up billboards telling our youth that ‘using heroine is cool!’

“Who’s on first” in Aleppo?

There seems to be some serious confusion about the ongoing crisis in Aleppo, Syria. Even my favorite go-to source for all things political, Mark Levin (Levin TV episode #179), is of the opinion that Bashar Al-Assad is the big villan here. Sadly, I can’t agree with him on this one. Putin is a tyrant, and Assad is certainly no boy scout, but Syria would be far worse under Sunni rebels than the current regime.

Because I’ve been so concerned about the ongoing Christian persecution in the Middle East, I’ve been following developments in that area for the past few years. There are several reasons why – despite frenzied reports from the mainstream media (via the insurgents) – I firmly believe that the liberation of Aleppo is a good thing for Syria, and that Assad’s government is not committing horrifying war crimes against its own people.

Consider the sources

We already know that the network news and the majority of the mainstream media lean far left, which is why so few of us trust them anymore. They’re all pushing the Assad-is-killing-his-own-people narrative; not with any real evidence, just repeating one-sided talking points.
But the real “tell” is Secretary of State John Kerry. He’s been peddling a load of B.S. on Syria for years. If you’re buying Kerry’s hyperbole on Syria, remember that the last time he was accusing troops of war atrocities – it was our guys in Viet Nam!

What are these rebels rebelling against?

What do they want? Does anyone know? More and more, reports are that there are no more “moderates”, that radical elements have co-opted the rebellion. According to many in western Aleppo, it’s now ~

al-Qaeda, al-Nusra, ISIS and the less familiar brands, who are occupying the city and fighting the government.

U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat from Hawaii (incidentally, a Hindu and a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard) met with Donald Trump in late November to discuss the Syrian situation ~

TulsiGabbard

You might not have heard of her, but this Hawaii Democrat has been one of the loudest voices in Congress speaking for the protection of Middle Eastern Christians and other religious minorities. Here is part of Rep. Gabbard’s statement:

“I felt it important to take the opportunity to meet with the President-elect now before the drumbeats of war that neocons have been beating drag us into an escalation of the war to overthrow the Syrian government — a war which has already cost hundreds of thousands of lives and forced millions of refugees to flee their homes in search of safety for themselves and their families.”

(S)uch a U.S. intervention — beyond risking war with nuclear-armed Russia — would allow radical Sunni Muslims aligned with al Qaeda to take over Syria and commit genocide against religious minorities numbering in the millions, including Syria’s Christians. You know, the way they did in Iraq. That is why Syria’s Christian leaders have been begging Western Christians since 2013 to avert such a reckless intervention.

Turkey is not our friend

Now Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a real tyrant. And Turkey is on the side of the anti-government forces; they’re hoping to weaken Syria so they can help themselves to some of the northern parts of the country (including possibly, Aleppo).
If we needed any more proof that Erdoğan is turning his country into an Islamic theocracy he just did this ➡ Turkey jails American Christian pastor on “terrorism” allegations (Where’s the mainstream media on this story?!)

The O’Ministration has been screwing this up for months years

The ugly truth about the Benghazi disaster being covered-up to obscure the Obama administration’s weapons transfer from Libya to Syria has since come out. Now that no one apparently cares anymore about four dead Americans, it’s safe for the New York Times to report that – C.I.A. Arms for Syrian Rebels Supplied Black Market, Officials Say.
The fact is we’ve been aiding the “moderate” rebels for 4-5 years. It’s working out really well. This article from Counter-Jihad Report is from June 2016 ~

The Central Intelligence Agency’s program to train and equip ‘moderate’ Syrian rebels suffered yet another embarrassment when arms intended for those rebels instead ended up on the black market. Some of the arms were then used in an attack on an American training facility in Jordan that killed two American DynCorp employees. That attack also killed several police officers who were being trained by the American private security firm at the behest of the US State Department.

The revelations are only the most recent humiliation for American efforts in Syria under the Obama administration. In mid-February, a group of CIA-backed rebels ended up fighting against, and losing to, a group of Pentagon-backed rebels. The previous fall, CIA-backed rebels surrendered a quarter of their equipment al Qaeda.

What a cluster!

What about the Christians?

It’s taken five years to get the Obama administration to even admit that Christian genocide is taking place in the Middle East – and they still refuse to do anything about it.

Listening to the media-types hyperventilate over the “genocide” in Aleppo makes you wonder where they’ve been the last several years. As The Stream explained last month, U.S. involvement, on the side of the rebels…

… beyond risking war with nuclear-armed Russia — would allow radical Sunni Muslims aligned with al Qaeda to take over Syria and commit genocide against religious minorities numbering in the millions, including Syria’s Christians. You know, the way they did in Iraq. That is why Syria’s Christian leaders have been begging Western Christians since 2013 to avert such a reckless intervention.

“Dust Boy” propaganda

The Islamists have mastered the art of fauxtography as means to garner sympathy for their jihad (Google “Pallywood”). Remember “Dust Boy?” ~

syria-dustykid
This shocking image from Aleppo last summer was most likely a hoax, calculated to do exactly what it did: generate international outrage against the Assad regime. But consider, what sort of emergency responder poses an injured, traumatized young boy for a photo session – rather than immediately tending to his injuries? Perhaps a heartless terrorist with an ulterior motive?

What the Islamists have quickly learned is that nothing tugs at the human heartstrings like a dusty dead or injured child cradled lovingly in the arms of some hero (who was probably waving an AK-47 or an ISIS flag hours before). If you search for “Aleppo civil war” images, the majority are “rescue” pix.

whitehelmetlogoNote – Any media with the “White Helmets” logo ➡
is automatically suspect ~

Unlike a legitimate rescue organisation such as the Red Cross or Red Crescent, the “White Helmets” only work in areas controlled by the armed opposition.

dustykids1

Notice how in most of the shots the “rescuers” themselves are relatively dust-free?

dustykids2

They seem carefully arranged to elicit just the right emotional reaction.

dustykids3

What’s happened to these poor children is heartbreaking, a terrible consequence of this tragic civil war. But it’s a double tragedy, not to mention wicked, to use their poor little bodies as propaganda tools.

dustykids4

This last one particularly seems so artistically staged.

dustykids5

Where in the midst of a bombed-out block did they happen to find
a pristine cloth to place under the dust-covered child?

There are no easy answers to the Syrian civil war. Bashar Al-Assad is a dictator. Putin has thuggish aspirations of restoring the former Soviet empire. But ISIS and al-Qaeda are pure evil. Toppling Saddam Hussein, and then quickly exiting Iraq as as we did, left that country unstable and vulnerable to Islamist insurgents who wasted no time outdoing the former leader in atrocities.

As Barak Barfi says at Politico in a piece titled “In Aleppo, I Saw Why Assad Is Winning.” Syrians are war-weary and long for safety and stability; Assad represents their best chance of getting that ~

If Assad wins, most Western observers will attribute the triumph to his use of naked force. But it his reliance on primordial loyalties, a fear of post-revolutionary chaos and appeal to the self-interest of Aleppo’s merchant class which will have been the real keys to his success.

For Christians living in Syria, this is a perilous time. For their faith, and their faith alone, they are facing genocide. The country’s refugee crisis intensifies as people attempt to flee persecution, and there is no end in sight […]

Ideally, the end goal would be for Syria’s political climate to change and move towards democracy. Then I think about what happened to Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. As much as I appreciate freedom and democracy, some Arab countries cannot seem to handle it. Due to the conflict between Muslims and other religious groups, along with the fighting within Muslim groups themselves, there is ongoing warfare and unrest. Maybe a strong ruling party is needed to control and restore order? Maybe Islam is the problem and needs reform?

DNA, the language of our Creator

Here is another persuasive video (from David Rives at the Creation Club) that explains how Darwin’s theory of evolution is virtually impossible – in light of what we know now about DNA ~

At this point it requires much more faith to believe in evolution than creation ~

I don’t care how many millions of years you give it! The information in our DNA came from the Mind of the Creator, Yahweh of the Bible. Genesis tells us that, “In the beginning God created…” The complex language of DNA bears the fingerprint of the Creator, not the hallmark of eons of chance.

“Meltdown of Humanity?” – Not so much

What’s really happening in Aleppo? Well, if you believe Samantha Power, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Bashar Assad is evil incarnate ~

“The regime of Bashar Al-Assad, Russia, Iran, and their affiliated militia are the ones responsible for what the UN called ‘a complete meltdown of humanity,'” Samantha Power told an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council. “And they are showing no mercy.” Power noted than in the last 24 hours, regime forces reportedly had killed 82 civilians, including 11 women and 13 children.

And yet – we see no on-the-ground reporting, no actual evidence of these alleged atrocities, no legitimate, documented sources – in fact so much of what the main stream media has been parroting has a decidedly “Pallywood” ring to it.

If Power and the UN and their vague but overwrought narratives are to be believed, why do I keep finding reports like this that totally contradict them?

This guy needs to find a new profession

Seriously – what’s the point of being a defender of the faith if you’re actually incapable of doing so? ➡ Italian priest scraps town’s annual Nativity scene because it might offend Muslims ~

An Italian priest has cancelled his town’s annual Nativity scene over fears it may offend the Muslim community.

frbraggie

Father Sante Braggie, chaplain of the Municipal Cemetery of Cremona and curate of the local parish in Northern Italy, said the display was typically set up within eyesight of a “small corner of the cemetery” that was “reserved for Muslim graves.” […]

According to the Corriere della Sera, Father Braggie said: ‘A crib positioned within sight of them could be seen as a lack of respect for followers of other faiths, hurt the sensibilities of Muslims, as well as Indians and even atheists.

This guy needs to hang up his cassock.

Here’s the deal, Christianity and Islam make mutually-exclusive truth claims; they cannot both be true.

If Father Braggie actually believed what Christianity professes: we are all eternal beings created by God, Jesus is the Son of God who was crucified and died for our sins, He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, and He will return to judge the living and the dead… he would know that his primary responsibility is to share the Good News with everyone – including Muslims – so that as many people as possible can be saved. He certainly would not be ashamed of the Gospel, and afraid to offend.

4whoshallbashamed
In other words, in light of eternity, and despite any personal qualms, it is incumbent upon all pastors or priests – at the temporal risk of offending – to point as many souls as they’re able to salvation.

At least the town of Cremona has the good sense to be upset with this pathetic cleric

(H)is predecessor Father Oreste Mori said he ‘could not believe’ the decision and described it as ‘renouncing our culture and traditions’ and ‘an unpardonable weakness’.
He told the paper: ‘I am, for the time being at least, in Italy, not Saudi Arabia.’ […]

The decision has caused outrage in the town with councillors said to be trying to persuade the priest to change his mind.

Meanwhile, here’s how fearful some Egyptian Muslims are of offending Coptic Christians in that country ~ Egypt’s Copts mourn after ‘deadliest attack in recent memory’ ~

Twenty-four people were killed and dozens more injured during the bomb attack on a chapel adjacent to the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mark in Cairo yesterday (11 December). All but three of those who died were women and children.

Martyred for their faith. Perhaps that’s what Father Braggie is truly afraid of.

France next to embrace anti-Globalism?

It’s definitely spreading; from Britain to the U.S. and now it seems to France. We – the average citizens in our respective countries – have had it with our elite rulers pushing globalism. We like our individual cultures, and we want to keep them.

In France, the current champions of national sovereignty are Marine Le Pen and Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, an aunt and niece, both members of the Front National party (founded by Marine’s father, Jean-Marie Le Pen).

lepens

There may just be as many French people – proportionally – who want to “make France great again” as there were Americans who supported Trump for the U.S. rendition of that sentiment. The Le Pen’s and their Front National Party are France’s version of the Trump phenomenon. Marine is a solid contender in next year’s presidential race.

As the moderate UK Daily Mail commented ~

The length of France, voters appear to be lurching further towards the extreme Right than at any time in recent history. Almost one in three first-round voters backed the National Front, which was founded 43 years ago by the embittered ex-paratrooper and street-brawler Le Pen.

Doesn’t the Mail want to know the reason(s) for the lurch? It’s pretty clear that the average French citizen has had it with the EU and elite politicians over-running the country with refugees who don’t want to become French but who do want to import Islam. They find it refreshing to hear Marine Le Pen call for ending free education to illegal alien children whose parents have violated French law by arriving and staying in France ~

marinelepen

“I’ve got nothing against foreigners but I say to them: if you come to our country, don’t expect that you will be taken care of, treated (by the health system) and that your children will be educated for free,” Le Pen said. “That’s finished now, it’s the end of playtime,” she told a conference in Paris in comments that provoked a storm of condemnation from the Socialist government.

But clearly, as PJ Media points out ~

France is being eaten alive by its former colonials from North Africa and the Middle East; the same hordes turned back by Charles Martel at the battle of Tours now effectively have the run of the place, murdering French priests in their churches and shooting innocent concert-goers in Paris.

The younger Le Pen also speaks for many who are understandably upset over the growing threat of terrorism in France ~

marionlepen

(S)hortly after the Nice attack (on Bastille Day last summer), Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, niece to Marine Le Pen and one of the FN’s two National Assembly members, told her supporters: “Either we kill Islamism or it will kill us again and again. You are with us and against Islamism, or you are against us and for Islamism… Those who choose the status quo become complicit with our enemies.”

Expanding on the comments in an interview with The Telegraph, she says that radical Islam is implacably opposed to the French secular way of life. “We have a heritage of faith linked to secularity, and I would always defend that. It’s quite opposite to the radical Islamic faith, which seeks to impose itself more and more on public life.”

Challenged over her views on the grounds that they would appall many, she responds: “I have exposed reality.”

Source: Breitbart

It’s that reality that many other Europeans are waking up to as well: Majority of French, Austrian Voters View Globalisation as Threat [German as well – and Italian (see below)] ~

The survey showed 55 per cent of Austrian respondents and 54 per cent of French view globalisation as a threat but the numbers among people who support populist parties were much higher.

76 per cent of Front National (FN) supporters and 69 per cent of respondents who back the Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) say they fear globalisation. This was also the case for 78 per cent of Germans who support the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

Concerns over globalisation were a greater determinant of support for populist parties than other factors such as traditional values and economic anxiety, Reuters reported. [….]

Economist Branko Milanović commented that Western elites “have continually piled up larger and larger gains, all the while socially and mentally separating themselves from fellow citizens”.

The elite ruling class in Europe has been using the Islamic invasion as a means to deconstruct nation-states. That’s the reality that people are waking up to and they want their countries and their cultures back. Marion Maréchal-Le Pen is outspoken in her defense of French culture. Regarding Muslim immigrants ~

“These people arrive with a different language and culture and without being educated in the same way about women’s rights,” she says. […]

“I want France to remain true to the adage, ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do.’ I don’t want a culture imported from elsewhere. That’s not a racialist vision. It has nothing to do with skin colour.”

The global elitists are power-hungry. They want borders eliminated because that makes it much easier to control populations. It’s encouraging to see that the populations aren’t quite willing to submit yet.

Italy’s referendum shows people are fed up of being lied to by Europhile leaders ~

The real lesson of Italy’s referendum (12-4-16) – and of almost every recent electoral contest – is that people are in an almighty strop with their rulers. If voters are offered a choice between corporatist technocrats and angry populists, they pick the populists. […]

The Italians even have a word for the phenomenon: “trasformismo”. It dates from the years after unification, when parties of the radical Left would find ways to form Centrist coalitions and ditch the promises on which they had been elected. In consequence, a gap opened between the “paese legale” (the politicians, officials and corporate leaders) and the “paese reale” (everyone else).

What a neat way to describe what is happening across Europe today. Ever since the 2008 crash, there has been a rift between government and governed, between the “continente legale” and the “continente reale”. Voters saw hundreds of billions of pounds taken from them through taxation in order to rescue some very wealthy bankers and bondholders from the consequences of their own errors. To this day, no one has been able to tell them what happened to the money or where it is.

3rd Sunday in Advent

advent3

O Lord Jesus Christ, who at Thy first coming didst send Thy messenger to prepare Thy way before Thee;
Grant that the ministers and stewards of Thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready Thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at Thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in Thy sight, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. ~ Amen

Saturday Shorts – 12-10-16

sshorts12-10-11

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

2 teens arrested in Tennessee wildfires, officials say ~ Somehow it’s doubly tragic that the fires may have been set deliberately ~

The teens remain in custody in Sevier County, charged with aggravated arson, said Jimmy Dunn, 4th Judicial District attorney general. They await a bond hearing in Juvenile Court and could be transferred to Criminal Court if prosecutors move to try them as adults.

Why Are Leftists Such Pansies? ~ Andrew Klavan’s hysterical take on the Left’s inability to deal with adversity. 😀 Man-up people!

The Obamas’ Extravagant Vacation Price Tag ~

Barack and Michelle Obama have long treated taxpayers as their personal sugar daddies when it comes to vacations and travel. Judicial Watch has long tracked these expenses, as we have, and the group estimates, “To date, Obama’s and his family’s travel expenses total at least $85,029,819.”

Not holding my breath for a thank-you note.

I Served With James Mattis. Here’s What I Learned From Him ~ Trump’s pick for Secretary of Defense sounds excellent ~

To Marines, Gen. James Mattis is the finest of our tribal elders. The rest of the world, very soon, will know how truly gifted he is.

Could We Please Quit Pretending It’s About “Marriage Equality?” ~ Because that’s been a sham all along. The real end game of the activists is the destruction of traditional families along with the support and stability they provide. It’s all just been a manipulative word game ~

“Marriage equality” isn’t real. The slogan exists only to arouse patriotism and guilt, and to make the conservative view on marriage appear morally inferior. Given that we all believe in marriage equality up to a certain boundary, however, it is no moral fault to prefer a principled boundary over an arbitrary one.

You Now Pay for Your Neighbor’s Weight Problem: Thanks, Obamacare ~ It’s the Progressive way; punish the responsible – reward the irresponsible ~

In a perfect world, meaning a free world, everyone would be able to live their life however they want and be accountable for the personal and economic impact of their choices. But, with the ACA we are all in this mess together. I can’t think of anything more humanitarian than trying to be a healthier person for yourself, all while simultaneously reducing the economic burden of your fellow human citizens.[…]

What you do not gain from getting healthy is the one thing that would most benefit you from doing so: lower premiums on your monthly payments. Because of Obamacare, that pressing advantage has been taken from you. And everyone. Who can be surprised that the result is a less healthy population?

Washington Town Spends $100,000 on Wind Turbines That Will Produce $500 of Electricity a Year ~ Till they give out in 25 years, and that doesn’t include the maintenance costs. Can we please stop this ridiculous waste of money?
Australia is learning the hard way just what a disaster wind energy really is ~ South Australia’s Disastrous Wind Power Experiment: Business Crippled as Power Prices Double

Michelle Malkin: The messy truth about Van Jones ~ Van Jones may have his own “news” show on CNN but he’s still the same guy Andrew Breitbart dubbed a “commie punk” and a “cop killer-supporting, racist, demagogic freak” ~

This is CNN: Enabling a lifelong, extremist demagogue — who has actively stifled and smeared conservatives, law enforcement and honorable public servants — to pose as a reasonable news personality Van-splainin’ the world.

This goes beyond the sin of “fake news.” It’s gross media malpractice of the highest order.

Why I Serve: Charles Gilliland of DFW Airport Police ~ In spite of the lack of support and affirmation from our feckless commander-in-chief, thank God that we have good men like this serving in law enforcement across the country ~

Our society needs law enforcement officers who can bring the light of Christ into the darkest corners of our society.

This Filmmaking Couple Doesn’t Want to Be Punished for Not Promoting Same-Sex Marriage ~ The progressive mantra has long been “you can’t legislate morality,” so why do they get to legislate amorality? And why are fashion designers allowed freedom of conscience but bakers, photographers and film-makers are not?

Too Much Christmas, Too Little Advent? ~ We’re missing the whole point of observing the season if we leave out the waiting ~

Things like Advent calendars and crèches that remain empty until Christmas Eve “give a shape to the anticipation of the season,” says (Joseph Bottum, author of “The Christmas Plains”). And “a season of contrition and sacrifice prepares us to understand and feel something about just how great the gift is when at last the day itself arrives.”
