Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort aren’t the only victims of Mueller & Co’s relentless pursuit of the Phantom Red Menace. Less well-known witnesses have also had their lives turned upside down by this endless investigation in search of a crime.
 
Michael Caputo, a conservative political activist and communications consultant, was an adviser with the Trump campaign. Unfortunately for him, the Mueller investigation seemed to be targeting anyone 1.) associated with Trump; who had ever 2.) set foot in Russia. Mr. Caputo fit that criteria, which unfortunately put him directly in the committee’s cross-hairs.
 
Back in the 1990’sany, many American firms took advantage of the financial opportunities presented by the thaw in Russian relations. Caputo had been in the country to assist the Kremlin with election law, and in ’96 he opened a public relations firm there which assisted U.S. companies entering the new market in working with the Kremlin and parliament.
 
Far from a Putin fan, he returned home in 2000 and, according to Deroy Murdock, writing at National Review, has spurned Russian business for more than a decade ~

Anyone who considers Caputo pro-Putin should read his July 13, 2004, Washington Post op-ed, published soon after corruption-fighting Forbes correspondent Paul Klebnikov — Caputo’s American friend — was shot to death in Moscow.
 
“Those who killed Klebnikov are killing today, plan to kill tomorrow, and know they’ll roam free to kill for years to come,” Caputo wrote. “Hell-bent on getting rich, they have no boundaries. Raised in a Communist world devoid of morals, they have no soul.” Caputo predicted this about Russia: “It won’t be truly civilized for generations.”

 
So this is the guy the Russiagate investigators decide to drag in and grill about collusion? Does he sound like a Putin-sympathizer?

 
Doesn’t matter, Michael Caputo fit the conspiracy-hunters’ profile: Trump + Russia. And now, thanks to this partisan witch hunt, his professional life is in tatters, his financial situation in disarray, and his family frightened for their lives ~

“This entire affair has disrupted my children significantly, especially my teenager, who suffers over this,” Caputo tells me, from his home near Buffalo, N.Y. “These tremendous expenses have forced us into a situation where many basic bills go unpaid or paid late. We may lose our home.” Caputo and his wife made a decision that would crush any parent’s heart: “To pay the bills, I’ve liquidated my children’s college fund. And my legal bills are far from over.” […]
 
“We endure constant threats of violence,” Caputo says, “which create security costs.” Since his name arose in Russiagate, Caputo and his family have been terrorized by people who want them dead.

The financial and psychological ruin of Michael Caputo and others in his shoes would be sad — but perhaps necessary, to unravel a vast U.S./Russian conspiracy to capture the Oval Office. Caputo and those like him would be collateral damage in a vital quest for the truth, if Mueller were finding Russian agents embedded in the Trump campaign, secret cash payments from the Kremlin to pro-GOP super PACs, and microfilm stashed inside Fabergé eggs in Mar-a-Lago, detailing how to brainwash voters in rural Wisconsin’s most promising precincts.
 
Conversely, Mueller has disclosed zero evidence to confirm or even slightly solidify the ethereal hypothesis that the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow to win the presidency.

 
This ridiculous Russian investigation has done enough damage to lives, finances, reputations. There’s no evidence of any collusion (other than Hillary’s – and BHO’s).
Shut. It. Down.

It was about 10am, just after the homily, when the first gunshots and grenades erupted in the compound of the parish, creating panic among the worshippers. Some of them managed to flee, but others were hit by bullets and grenades.

World Watch Monitor summarizes the current conflict in CAR ~

Central African Republic has yet to fully emerge from a civil war fought partly along religious lines. Although the Islamist rebel group, Séléka, has been driven out of many parts of the country, attacks against Christians continue in the capital, Bangui, and in the mainly Muslim northeast. Christians have been forced to flee from their villages and are denied access to farming fields. Large groups of Christians live in extremely poor conditions in refugee camps.

According to the head of the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in CAR, Joseph Inganji, the situation in CAR has been deteriorating for five years now. Inganji believes that in the next six months it may grow even worse ~

Speaking to World Watch Monitor last week, Inganji called on “all actors to sit around the table to have a shared analysis and joint planning, in order to cut the vicious cycle of violence, and respond according to each other and everyone’s mandate”.
 
CAR fell into chaos on 24 March 2013 when a predominantly Muslim coalition of rebels, known as Séléka, ousted President François Bozizé and took power.
 
Six months later, in September 2013, Séléka’s leader, Michel Djotodia, who had proclaimed himself president, disbanded the group and in January 2014 resigned as president, to be replaced by Catherine Samba-Panza.
 
Yet during her two-year reign, and that of her successor, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the conflict continued. More than 14 armed groups are currently active in CAR, together controlling around three quarters of territory.
 
Recent violence in the eastern village of Séko and its surroundings claimed 46 lives, including that of a priest. Father Joseph Désiré Angbabata, 49, was killed when UPC militants (a Séléka offshoot) stormed his Saint Charles LWANGA parish on Wednesday, 21 March.

As usual, when radical Muslims are in the mood for jihad, Christians bear the brunt of their wrath. CAR is #35 on Open Doors list of countries where Christian persecution is significant ~

The conflict in CAR has resulted in violence and atrocities towards Christians at the hands of militant groups on both sides of the conflict. Gathering for worship is dangerous, as church buildings are sometimes burned and ransacked. Numerous church leaders have been violently attacked. Thousands of Christians have been displaced as a result of the conflict, forced to relocate to camps and relinquish their livelihoods.
 
Meanwhile, converts from Christianity also experience persecution at the hands of their immediate family members and local communities. These converts are often ostracized and violently pressured to renounce Christianity.
