Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Muslim “diversity visa” jihadi who killed 8 in NYC tells court ISIS “fighting to impose sharia on earth” ~ During a routine pretrial conference last Friday, for his October 31st vehicular manslaughter, the “defendant” requested permission to address the court ~

Mr. Saipov said that the judgments made in the courtroom were “not important” to him because they were “not Allah’s judgments.”

He also said that the Islamic State, in order to “impose Sharia on earth, is leading a war.” The Islamic State was not fighting for land or for oil, he continued. “They’re fighting to impose Sharia on earth.”

State of Delusion: Push to Kill-Off Arizona’s Nuclear Plant & Go 50% Wind & Solar ~

Believing that wind and solar can power your economy means sacrificing our good friends, logic and reason. It also demands ignorance of the most basic of facts: eg, sunset and calm weather.

And yet the climate alarmists don’t let a little thing like reality stop them from considering Clean Energy for a Healthy Arizona Amendment which would require 50 percent of the electricity generated in the state to come from renewable sources (including Unicorn farts :) ) by 2030 ~

If the measure passes it would necessitate the closure of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station west of Phoenix, which currently provides about 35 percent of the state’s electricity, even though it produces no carbon emissions […]

Being green is a state of mind. Just never let the facts get in the way.

Turkey F-35 Joint Strike Fighter: delivery begins from Lockheed ~ Turkey has been cozying up to the Russians, morphing back to a theocracy, and growing ever more hostile to the West, so this probably won’t end well ~

Following a formal handoff ceremony at Lockheed Martin’s F-35 facility in Fort Worth, Texas, the defense giant will ferry the aircraft to Luke Air Force Base in Arizona where Turkish pilots will begin training alongside U.S. airmen […]

However, both House and Senate versions of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act contain restrictions on Turkey’s participation in the F-35 program due to Ankara’s plan to buy Russia’s advanced S-400 air defense system.

On Tuesday, the Senate voted 85 to 10 to block the sale, citing the deal with the Russians as well as Turkey’s continued detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson, who was accused of spying and attempting to overthrow the government in 2016. He has denied all charges.

U.S. Army intelligence officer Lt. Col. Chris Simmons (Ret.) on Cuba’s ‘sonic attacks’ on U.S. diplomats ~ 25 min. podcast-Episode 120 from Target USA? Cuban espionage, radio-electronic combat… partnering with China? ~

On Aug. 9, 2017, CBS correspondent Steve Dorsey broke the story that U.S. diplomats in Havana had been sickened by a mysterious illness, the cause of which no one could put their finger on. At the time no one had any answers about what happened. Doctors determined they were likely suffering from some kind of ultrasonic device. But since then other possibilities have arisen. Chris Simmons, a retired supervisory counterintelligence officer from the Defense Intelligence Agency with deep experience related to Cuba, has a theory and supporting evidence that makes perfect sense and is very plausible.

He Survived Nazi Concentration Camps – His Message On Border Security Will Silence The Media ~ Soulless progressives have lost all perspective in their relentless pursuit of open borders. Cluelessness is no excuse, these people are vicious.

The Probable Next President of Mexico Has Called for Mass Migration to the US ~ Just what we need. Another “human right” invented by the left ~

Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the far-left presidential candidate in Mexico and former mayor of Mexico City, has called for mass migration to the U.S., saying it is a “human right” for Mexican citizens to enter the United States.

Seize Ivy League Dorms and Give Them to Immigrant Families ~ There are numerous benefits to John Zmirak’s most excellent plan, which ~

• Respects our national sovereignty and the rule of law.
• Keeps families together.
• Lets our bishops go back to attending George Soros’ conferences. And
• Most important of all, heals Laura Bush’s broken heart. Hasn’t that woman suffered enough?

Trump’s New Health Initiative Will Spell Relief for Americans ~ Especially the self-employed and small businesses, who have been hit so hard with huge premium increases ~

The Department of Labor, pursuant to President Donald Trump’s October 2017 executive order, has just published a final rule to enable small businesses to more easily join together and form association health plans. The new rule would apply to sole proprietors, the self-employed, or persons owning their own businesses, allowing them to take advantage of these plan offerings […]

When Trump ordered the Department of Labor to develop the new rules last year, he wanted to give small employers and employees who work in the same kind of business, such as plumbers or electricians, the right to form these associations.

Germany’s Migrant Policy: Why Trump was Right ~ On June 18th, the president tweeted “Crime in Germany is way up. Big mistake made all over Europe in allowing millions of people in who have so strongly and violently changed their culture!” ~

According to Germany’s 2017 crime statistics, more than 1,100 foreigners were charged with murder or manslaughter, as opposed to around 1,500 suspects holding German passports. Given that Germany was home to roughly 10 million foreigners as opposed to 70 million German nationals, these are staggering numbers.

Anti-EU Swedish Democrats surge to first place ahead of election ~ Is Sweden finally waking up to the radical Muslim threat? It may be too late, but we can always hope ~

Politics in Europe is changing rapidly. A big win for the Swedish Democrats could rock Brussels to the core. Where Brexit Britain leads, others will follow!

The Netherlands Now Requires No Terminal Illness For Elderly People To Legally Kill Themselves ~ Yep folks. There’s that slippery slope – picking up traction. Next stop Soylent Green? ~

Seniors in the Netherlands who do not have a terminal illness are eligible for euthanasia. That is the clear message of a new code of practice for euthanasia, which is being sent to every general practitioner in the Netherlands […]

Last year, lawmakers in the Netherlands proposed the “Completed Life Bill” that would make any person age 75 or over eligible for euthanasia. The person could be perfectly healthy.

Insecticide Ban, Not Global Warming, Accords With Outbreak of Disease-Carrying Insects ~ J. Agresti & R. McCutcheon bust another climate-change myth ~

(A seminal 2016 study of coastal U.S. mosquito populations in the journal Nature Communications) found that growth in mosquito populations did not correspond with rising temperatures but with decreased DDT. It is important to note that this study only reveals associations, which do not prove causation. Other factors may be at play. Also, statistical methods used to perform such analyses are prone to pitfalls. However, this study is far more telling than conclusions drawn from imprecise, erratic associations between temperatures and disease-carrying insects.

And yet, the hysteria continues ~ Berkeley Declares ‘Climate Emergency’ Worse Than World War II ~

Apparently the six million Jews massacred during the Second World War, not to mention the other tens of millions of casualties, do not measure up to the overarching evils of climate change—at least in the minds of the Berkeley City Council […]

Climate change “has been linked to the Syrian War, the rise of Boko Haram in Nigeria, as well as the famines, water shortages, and resulting conflict in Yemen, Somalia, and South Sudan,” the document pronounces.

Largest Gathering of Anglicans in 50 Years Tells Archbishop of Canterbury to Return to Teaching the Bible Only ~ Sola Scriptura, what a concept! ~

Delegates at the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) in Jerusalem, which was attended by 1,950 representatives from 50 countries, made a passionate call this week to go to the ends of the earth to proclaim Jesus Christ to all nations.

They also agreed on a letter to the churches in the Anglican communion which calls for the Archbishop of Canterbury as its leader, to reaffirm the clear teaching of the Bible in line with historical Anglican orthodoxy.
