“Pick-up truck mows down New Yorkers”

Although not an eyewitness, David Wood of Acts17Apologetics was actually in New York City during yesterday’s terrorist attack ~

In support of ISIS, Sayfullo Saipov, who immigrated to the United States from Uzbekistan, rented a truck from Home Depot. On October 31, 2017, he drove the truck down a Manhattan bicycle path and plowed it into a crowd of people before crashing into a bus. As usual, politicians and reporters are convinced that the attack had nothing to do with Islam, Islamic terrorism, the Qur’an, or Muhammad’s teachings.

If you’re still wondering why Saipov went on his crazed vehicular jihad, watch and learn ~

For clarity, immediately after the incident, sources inside the New York Police Department debunked the “terrorism” narrative, saying that it was an incident of road rage between two truck drivers. At a press conference hours later, Police Commissioner James O’Neill refused to confirm whether the suspect had shouted “Allahu akbar” and declined to state the attacker’s name or nationality.

Apparently what happens in Vegas really does stay in Vegas

Well, here it is a month later – and what are the odds we’ll ever find out what really happened in Las Vegas on October 1st? Although survivors and victim’s families would no doubt like some answers – not to mention the rest of us – it seems the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history just no longer piques the interest of the network news outlets.

LasVegasshooting
So, far from understanding what motivated Stephen Paddock to murder 58 innocent people and wound hundreds more, all we have, 30 days after the slaughter, are more questions ~

• Why was ISIS so eager to take responsibility for this attack, and why was the FBI so quick to dismiss that connection?
Why is the hard drive missing from Paddock’s laptop?
Why is security guard Jesus Campos being kept under wraps?
Why was one woman telling people in the crowd that they were all going to die 45 minutes before the attack?
• What about reports of multiple shooters/ unlikely bullet trajectories?
• And the suspicious, untimely deaths of Las Vegas survivors…?

Although we-the-sheeple may still be very curious about Paddock, his motives and whether or not he acted alone, government officials and the mainstream media apparently aren’t. So unfortunately, when it comes to this tragedy, may never learn what really happened in Vegas.

(A)ccording to the mainstream media, a 64-year-old retired accountant with a flabby physique that had no military training whatsoever and that wasn’t very experienced with guns was able to pull the whole thing off all by himself. We are being told that Paddock was a “lone wolf” that didn’t have any ties to terror groups, and since he is now dead nobody is ever going to be able to interrogate him.

Finally, some justice for victims of IRS intimidation

Here’s yet another story that the mainstreams’ have totally under-reported. Why? Because it vindicates conservatives’ charges of persecution by Obama’s IRS. Last week Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that DOJ…

… has reached an undisclosed monetary settlement with over 400 conservative groups that had their applications for tax exempt status delayed “based solely on their viewpoint or ideology.”

“The [Internal Revenue Service]’s use of these criteria as a basis for heightened scrutiny was wrong and should never have occurred,” Sessions said in a statement Thursday. “It is improper for the IRS to single out groups for different treatment based on their names or ideological positions.” […]

IRStyranny2
Court documents reveal the IRS admitted wrongdoing and apologized for the nefarious conduct.

“The IRS admits that its treatment of Plaintiffs during the tax-exempt determination process, including screening their applications based on their names or policy positions, subjecting those applications to heightened scrutiny and inordinate delays, and demanding some Plaintiffs’ information that TITA determined was unnecessary to the agency’s determination of their tax-exempt status, was wrong,” the IRS said in court documents. “For such treatment, the IRS expresses its sincere apology.”

I wrote about this scandal several times (HERE, HERE and HERE) as it unfolded. It’s great to see some degree of justice has finally prevailed. Unfortunately, it’s far too late in the day to really matter. The case can effectively be made that – because the Tea Party was gaining momentum at the very time the IRS went after them – that Barack Obama would have been a one term president without his administration’s illegal abuse of authority.

Chicago’s Law-And-Order Policies Are Failing Catastrophically ~ Thanks to Democrat governance, Chicago’s gun-free zone is a wild west show ~

Chicago is a mess. Last year, Chicago had 762 homicides — more than New York and Los Angeles combined. In 2016, homicides were up an incredible 57 percent from 2015. This year’s total is closing in on last year’s […]

At Least 67 Civilians Found Dead in Syria Town Taken from ISIS ~ Anyone else wonder why the mainstreams aren’t particularly interested in pointing out just how brutal these Islamists really are? ~

BEIRUT (AP) — The bodies of at least 67 Syrian civilians, many summarily killed by the Islamic State group, have been discovered in a central town in Syria retaken from ISIS by government troops over the weekend, the Syrian government and activists said Monday […]

The apparent revenge killings underscore the Islamic State group’s ability to inflict heavy losses in Syria even while its militants are on the retreat in north and eastern Syria, days after having been defeated in Raqqa, the group’s one-time “capital” of its self-proclaimed caliphate. They also raise the specter of more revenge killings by the group while it fights to hang on to its last strongholds in Syria.

According to the Oregon Department of Education, enrollment in the state’s K-12 public schools for the 2016-2017 school year totaled 578,947.

Major Clue Missing in Las Vegas Shooter Investigation (Paddock’s laptop mysteriously missing hard drive) ~

“He’s a multimillionaire,” Eric (Paddock – Stephen’s brother) said. And intelligent. “He could have done anything he wanted to do. And he did.”
(Yes, he did didn’t he?!) […]

As TIME points out, Paddock’s wealth and age are atypical for mass shooters, though most indeed are white males like him. His lack of criminal record and apparent religious or political affiliation are also baffling. ISIS claimed responsibility shortly after the shooting, saying Paddock had converted to Islam six months earlier. Authorities have said there is no evidence that is true, though other experts have warned not to completely discredit ISIS’ claim.

The SPLC doesn’t fight hate – they foment it

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” That’s the the last one of Saul Alinsky’s infamous thirteen Rules for Radicals. It’s become one of the SPLC’s (Southern Poverty Law Center) favorite strategies. And the targets they’re attempting to freeze, personalize and polarize are conservative – and Christian.

noChristiansOnce upon a time the SPLC was at least well-intentioned. It was formed in 1917 as a non-profit, legal advocacy organization focusing on civil rights, and was instrumental in marginalizing the KKK. Unfortunately, in recent years they’ve turned into social justice warriors on a power trip. Although they still fight obvious villains like Black Supremacists and groups that promote Islamic terrorism, lately they’ve taken aim at Christian conservative organizations. Which is why Dr. Michael Brown believes that the Southern Poverty Law Center is the most dangerous hate group in America.

According to Brown it’s their duplicitous nature that makes the SPLC such a threat. While some of the groups they oppose are grossly anti-social and truly deserve to be shunned, others are actually praiseworthy ~

To give you an idea of just how dangerous the SPLC is, consider this recent headline from the San Diego Union-Tribune: “Eight hate groups are in San Diego’s backyard, civil rights organization says.”

Really? Eight hate-groups in San Diego’s backyard? How does that make you feel if you live nearby, and what protective action should you take? And who, exactly, are these groups?

Some are Black Supremacist groups; one denies the Holocaust; one supports Islamic terrorism and wants to establish Sharia Law; and two are conservative Christian organizations.

That’s right, two conservative Christian organizations, including the Ruth Institute, a Catholic, pro-family organization, led by Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, are listed side by side with radical Muslims, Black Supremacists, and Holocaust deniers.

This is the insidiousness of the SPLC, which exposes genuine hate groups alongside fine Christian organizations whose great sin, according to the SPLC, is being “anti-LGBT.”

Here’s a small sampling of the Christian organizations that they’re attacking:

• The Alliance Defending Freedom, one of the most respected Christian legal firms in the world, which has successfully argued cases before the Supreme Court and was involved in arguing the landmark Obergefell vs. Hodges
• The American College of Pediatricians, “a nonsectarian medical organization whose crime is that they publish scientific facts damaging to the ideology of identity politics.” (This organization consists of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and others.)
• The America Family Association, which for several decades has stood for family values in our nation.
• Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, which simply disseminates factual information about LGBT issues.
• Liberty Counsel, another highly respected Christian legal firm which has represented Christians in major cases across the land. (The Pacific Justice Institute, yet another fine Christian legal firm, makes it onto this same list. How dare these Christian groups defend their constitutional rights!)

Beyond simply being a petulant action by another bunch of irrational leftists – and no doubt having a negative impact on donations to these groups- this intolerant character assassination is effectively putting a target on the backs of these conservative organizations. Some of the vicious mislabeling has actually led to violence (against Family Research Council in 2012). James T. Hodgkinson, the unhinged gunman who used Republicans for target practice last August, was a Bernie supporter who “liked” the SPLC on Facebook.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In another enlightening Prager U video, Karl Zinsmeister explains just how malicious and un-American the SPLC has become ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There was a time when the country was grateful for SPLC’s efforts in exposing our domestic enemies. Those days are gone. And thankfully, as Dr. Brown points out

… the FBI, among other law-enforcement agencies, no longer relies on the SPLC’s data, but for years the SPLC was a major source of information for our government, reminding us once more of just how dangerous they are.

And now the rest of America needs to understand what a hateful, destructive influence the SPLC represents – before this real “hate group” can do any more damage.

Nonprofit Tracker Smears Dozens of Conservative Organizations as ‘Hate Groups’ ~ Don’t rely on GuideStar any longer for objective assessment of non-profit groups ~

The nation’s leading source of information on U.S. charities faces mounting criticism for using a controversial “hate group” designation in listings for some well-known and broadly supported conservative nonprofits.

GuideStar, which calls itself a “neutral” aggregator of tax data on charities, recently incorporated “hate group” labels produced by the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center.

The decision by the tracker of nonprofits prompted 41 conservative leaders to protest the move in a letter provided exclusively to The Daily Signal. The letter, dated June 21, asks the website to drop the “hate group” labels put on 46 organizations.

Another Scalp? Donation Processing Company Drops ‘Hate Group’ Christian Nonprofit Attacked by the Southern Poverty Law Center ~

Last week, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) seemed to claim another scalp. On Thursday, the credit card processing company Vanco Payment Solutions dropped the Christian nonprofit Ruth Institute (RI) over claims that RI “promotes hate, violence, harassment and/or abuse.” The group has been listed on the SPLC’s “hate map” since 2013.

“The Ruth Institute’s primary focus is on family breakdown, and its impact on children. If this makes us a ‘hate group,’ so be it,” the RI’s founder and president, Jennifer Roback Morse, declared in a statement.

YouTube: “Pay no attention to those conservatives behind the curtain. We don’t.”

I’ve been meaning to cover this issue again for a while now. I guess I kept hoping it would go away – but it’s only getting worse. What am I talking about? “Demonitizing.”

No, that term doesn’t have anything to do with demons (- or maybe it does!). It means de-monitizing, as in taking away a YouTube channel’s ability to make any money from their productions.

If you’ve spent much time watching YouTube videos you’ve no doubt noticed the annoying ads the precede each video. In a nutshell, those ads are how all the various individuals and organizations that create and post to YouTube make any money. The move “views” their videos get, the more money they make.

U-tubecensorship1Now YouTube – and when it comes to conservatives this goes back to at least last year – has a couple ways to “disapprove” of content. They can flag a video for content as “offensive.” (“Offensive” being a totally arbitrary assessment.) They can “restrict” it, preventing any or all visitors from viewing it. Or they can “demonitize” it; they remove the ads so that whoever created the video no longer gets paid for any views.

This gets more complicated, but just briefly; more video views not only generate more ad money, they move that particular video up in the rankings. The higher the rankings, the more that YouTube’s internal algorithms point potential viewers to watch it.

So a popular video just makes more and more money for its producer. Which sounds like good old-fashioned free-market capitalism 🙂 – except when YouTube’s increasingly totalitarian impulses get in the way 😡

I first learned about this demonitizing phenomenon from Paul Romano (His YouTube channel “Pockets of the Future” features his take on current events and cultural decline. The guy’s kind of out-there, but he does make some interesting videos.). A self-identified member of the “Truth Community,” Romano may have some tin-foil hat tendencies, but when it comes to YouTube’s censorship he was definitely on to something.

Two months ago, Dr. Michael Brown, Messianic Jew, author and one of my favorite talk-show hosts, realized he’d been censored ~ YouTube Just Demonetized Hundreds of Our Videos ~

It wasn’t just a few videos here and there that were flagged. It was dozens of them. No, wait, it was pages of them. No wait, pages and pages of them.

Literally, in front of my eyes, I watched the pages grow — from 2 pages, to 5, to 7, to 10, to 15, to 20, to, 32 pages, each with 30 videos — so, more than 900 videos.

It wasn’t individual videos being flagged. It was our account that was flagged.

U-tubecensorship2
Suddenly, the vast majority of our videos had been demonetized since the content was ostensibly too controversial […]

Debates I had with rabbis were flagged; powerful stories, like a Muslim woman being healed by Jesus, were flagged. Videos where I answered questions like, “Should Christians Homeschool Their Children?” or “Did Jesus Claim to Be God?” were flagged, along with videos of spiritual encouragement (like the one encouraging believers to look to the Lord in the midst of chaos).

Teaching videos were flagged (like the one explaining that the Preface to the King James Version of the Bible refutes King James Onlyism), along with motivational videos (like the one where I talked about how I lost 95 pounds.). All these were flagged, along with the many videos that focused on LGBT issues or radical Islam or politics. Seriously?

Seriously. Prager U, whose videos I frequently post here, has been a victim of YouTube’s muzzling for a year. As Dr. Brown continued ~

For months, we’ve been hearing about the YouTube crackdown on conservative voices, especially those who have the temerity to confront certain “controversial” issues. And we’ve known that, with the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) joining forces with YouTube, blatant censorship could be next.

We’ve watched as Prager U videos were temporarily removed. We’ve heard others cry foul as their videos were demonetized, most recently major internet players like Paul Joseph Watson and Diamond and Silk. (Whether or not you agree with these voices, they deserve the same rights and privileges others have on YouTube.)

Now, having watched dozens and dozens of videos produced by Dr. Brown and Prager U, I can unequivocally say there is never – anything – the least bit offensive in their productions – UNLESS – you’re an anti-Israel, pro-ISIS, angry, progressive atheist! On the contrary, if YouTube has demonetized it, you can bet it’s probably TRUE!

It’s great to see that Dennis Prager is going on the offense ~ PragerU Sues YouTube, Google For ‘Intentional’ Censorship of Conservative Speakers ~

On Monday, the conservative educational nonprofit Prager University filed a lawsuit against YouTube and its parent company, Google, for “intentional” censorship of conservative speakers. YouTube made more than fifteen percent of the organization’s videos impossible to access in its “restrictive mode” — meant to protect younger and more sensitive viewers — and only slowly provided contradictory answers for why they were restricted.

“Watch any one of our videos and you’ll immediately realize that Google/YouTube censorship is entirely ideologically driven,” PragerU founder Dennis Prager declared in a statement on the lawsuit. He accused Google and YouTube of “engaging in an arbitrary and capricious use of their ‘restricted mode’ and ‘demonetization’ to restrict non-left political thought.”

“This is speech discrimination plain and simple, censorship based entirely on unspecified ideological objection to the message or on the perceived identity and political viewpoint of the speaker,” former California Governor Pete Wilson, partner at the law firm Browne Georg Ross, said in the statement.

Hooray for Prager! I intend to post as many more of his videos and Brown’s as possible – simply to help counter YouTube’s restrictions. Please view and share them. Let’s stand up for free speech – before it’s gone!

Bringing Help and Hope to Puerto Rico

Today Congress approved a $36.5 billion emergency spending plan to pay for ongoing relief from recent natural disasters ~

Aid for Puerto Rico dominated the latest round of emergency funding. More than 80 percent of the island still is without power more than a month after the storm, and concerns are growing that a failure to restore electricity and provide basic services to residents could cause a mass exodus to the mainland United States.

The Senate voted 82 to 17 on Tuesday to approve the spending plan, which now requires President Donald Trump’s signature. The House overwhelmingly approved the emergency spending bill Oct. 12.

In the meantime, here’s how Samaritan’s Purse has been helping the victims of Hurricane Maria ~

Direct aid… in Jesus’ name… avoiding the high risk of corruption that comes with “free” government stuff… May God continue to bless their efforts ~

Our Puerto Rico response continues to expand. With our helicopter, we’re now reaching clusters of poorer villages up in the mountains isolated by mudslides and debris strewn about on the cracked roads. When our teams fly in with emergency food kits—filled with rice, beans, oil, sugar, and salt—people rush to us to tell us we are the first to come to their aid.

In order to better reach these pockets of people, we’ve established a second base of operations in Ponce, Puerto Rico’s second largest city, located on the island’s southeastern coast. Prayer meetings are springing up at partner churches, asking for God’s blessing as we not only bring food and other relief supplies but also the hope of the Gospel.

At the same time, we’re distributing food kits, tarps, hygiene kits, solar lamps, and generators to affected neighborhoods in Ponce itself.

We’re also working with the Department of Health to see how we can help meet pressing physical needs. We recently delivered generators to two urgent care clinics that are without reliable sources of power.

And we’re now deploying a five-person medical team—two doctors and three nurses—to provide medical care in difficult-to-reach areas of central Puerto Rico. The team will travel by helicopter and 4x4s to reach these remote areas. They will be on the ground by this weekend (Oct. 14-15) and set up mobile clinics at strategic locations.

Please pray for God’s guidance and protection as we continue to minister to the people of Puerto Rico.

These poor kids are going to have nightmares for months!

OK, this is California – but seriously, are there any sane adults in the Michelle Obama Public Library out there in Long Beach? Who thought this would be a great idea?!

demonicDragQueen

Demonic Clown Drag Queen Does Story Time (From Megan Fox at PJMedia)

In what can only be described as an ironic venue, a demonic killer clown in drag was hired to read stories to preschoolers at the Michelle Obama Public Library in Long Beach, California. As if California couldn’t be more of a cliche they go and prove us wrong again. On October 14, the library hosted this sick event featuring a demonic killer clown drag queen…for children. Was Baphomet busy?

This particular drag queen, named Xochi Mochi, calls himself a “killer clown from outerspace,” “dragula,” and “Super Monster.” Consider for a moment that many children get scared when they go to see Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny and yet a public library children’s librarian thought a visit with a killer clown would be fun!

If progressives actually believe stunts like this are acceptable, they really shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near young children.

Encountering the Ark

I’d been anxious to visit the Ark Encounter in Kentucky since it opened in July of last year, and last week we finally made it. It didn’t disappoint!

ark2

Ark-interiorWhat impressed me the most was the degree of careful planning and deliberation evidenced in every aspect of the construction. These present day descendents of Noah have complete faith in the Biblical narrative of the flood. And it was clear that they approached the project with that conviction, knowing that if Noah could find a way to build a massive ark, fill it with hundreds of animals, feed and water all those creatures, and keep everyone alive until more than a year later when the waters receded – then they could closely replicate such a vessel in the 21st century.

This is the center of the Ark ➡ An ancient atrium 🙂

Running along the middle of the roof are panels that can be adjusted to keep the rain out and/or let light in.

NoahinArk2

There are several vignettes throughout, featuring Noah and members of his family engaged in various activities

We were impressed by the sheer scale of the construction as well how the interior was configured to make the most efficient use of the space, and the way every exigency seemed to have been anticipated and planned for.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you already believe that the biblical account of creation and the flood are true, a visit to the Ark will only strengthen your faith. If you’re a skeptic, may I suggest that you suspend you disbelief and go with an open mind. The Holy Spirit might just open your heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

NoahinArk1

“God brought Noah through the catastrophic storm, showing him mercy and grace during the judgment. Noah was faithful in his generation to honor the Creator and do as He commanded. We are all descendents of Noah and should follow his example. Our storm of judgment is coming, and the Lord has offered mercy and grace through His Son, Jesus Christ. Honor the God of heaven and earth. Follow Him and live forever.”

Saturday Shorts – 10-21-17

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

What Two Former Trans Men Want You To Know About All The Lies ~ So very sad. These poor people don’t need affirmation and encouragement – they need psychiatric help ~

“I wanted to be a woman. Badly. My mental health was very poor at the time and I was very much socially isolated. I felt I could either try living as a woman or else I wanted to kill myself.”

Boy Scouts, or One of the Girls? ~ No, the two sexes are not interchangable. Rebecca Hagelin with a eulogy for the this late great American institution ~

When the BSA decided to become “politically correct” by pandering to the homosexual activists and abandoning their principles and the families that believe in them, it was only a matter of time that they would decide to further destroy the mission of the organization by allowing girls in too […]

The Scout program was successful because it helped boys truly believe that manliness was something to be achieved and treasured.

Sorry folks, but you just can’t do that when you throw a bunch of girls into the mix.

“Trump’s Benghazi?” Americans Were Deployed to Niger Under Obama ~ They never did care to discover the truth about Benghazi, but now Democrats and the mainstreams are trying to create another false narrative where Trump’s the bad guy. Daniel Greenfield sets the record straight.

NHS (UK health care) provokes fury with indefinite surgery ban for smokers and obese ~ Yes folks, misery is inevitable with “free” government health care ~

In recent years, a number of areas have introduced delays for such patients – with some told operations will be put back for months, during which time they are expected to try to lose weight or stop smoking.

But the new rules, drawn up by clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Hertfordshire, say that obese patients “will not get non-urgent surgery until they reduce their weight” at all, unless the circumstances are exceptional.

The criteria also mean smokers will only be referred for operations if they have stopped smoking for at least eight weeks, with such patients breathalysed before referral.

I’m a Conservative Who Was Roofied by a Stranger. Here’s What I Think of the ‘Me Too’ Hashtag ~ Heritage Foundation fellow Amy Swearer was moved to tell her personal story in a heartfelt effort to explain the #MeToo sexual assault meme triggered by that sicko Harvey Weinstein ~

I’m not asking anyone to refrain from having honest conversations on the subjects of victimization and assault. I’m simply asking you to refrain from categorically judging the stories behind the hashtag as nothing more than slacktivism or attention-seeking hogwash.

Cruz Stomps Sanders: ‘What’s The Difference Between A Socialist And A Democrat?’ ~ From Wednesday’s CNN debate on the GOP tax plan between the two senators ~

America’s “free enterprise system,” said Cruz, has been history’s greatest generator of prosperity, adding, “Bernie likes to glorify socialism, but if you look at the greatest engine of prosperity the world has ever seen, it’s the American free enterprise system. There’s a reason millions of people risk their lives to come here.”

Spoiler alert: Cruz won. Because even most lefties get it if someone explains it to them ~ Students love Trump’s tax plan…when told it’s Bernie’s

Apple removes popular pro-life prayer app after liberals complain ~ Apps are totally optional digital tools. How is anyone justified in demanding that something they don’t even see, much less use, be eliminated? It’s like saying I hate spinach so I demand that my grocery store not carry it! ~

The app, launched in 2014 for both Apple and Android phones, sends anonymous, real-time information about women who call crisis pregnancy centers considering abortion so that pro-lifers can pray for them.

One of the top five “Must-Have Pro-Life Apps” according to the American Life League, the HC app alerts prayer warriors with messages such as “pray for someone in Texas who just placed a call to inquire about abortion,” or “who scheduled an appointment with a Colorado pregnancy resource center.” The app suggests that Christians pray for women to keep pro-life appointments and to choose life for their baby.

On the plus side, I hadn’t heard about Human Coalition until Apple made news by banning their app. But now, since I have an android phone, I just downloaded it 🙂

I Don’t Care If It’s Halloween. Your Gruesome And Tacky Yard Decorations Are Sick And Rude ~ I couldn’t agree more 🙂

For some reason, people think it is acceptable to array their homes with all manner of symbols and graphic depictions of evil, even on streets populated by young families. Decency, it seems, is deader than the decaying corpse you propped up on your porch swing.

This problem of indecency isn’t unique to decor. People get weird when they don costumes—even the ones that don’t make you look like a prostitute. Halloween is an excuse for young adults to indulge in defacement of property, cruel pranks, drunkenness, and debauchery—or at least to amusedly watch other people do such things, in real life or in fiction. Halloween is an opportunity to give in to the dark side, and no one feels bad about it. But why exactly? Because the license to be an idiot expires at dawn on November 1? This trend doesn’t just indicate that decency is dead, of course. It suggests that the ordinary kind of evil is very much alive, and is given special opportunity to manifest itself on Halloween.
