I was impressed with the way Matt Walsh pretty much demolished the worldview of zealous atheists in just four tweets today ~
I dont understand evangelical atheism. If life is objectively meaningless, and we are but physical matter headed into an eternal oblivion, why do you care what other people believe? Why are you trying to convert us into unbelief? What does it matter? What does anything matter?
From the atheistic view, religion is an "opium of the people" — something we invented in order to cope with the unbearable agony of living short and ultimately pointless lives. Why try to deprive people of this placebo? I can only see two possible explanations:
1) You are miserable and in despair, and you want others to feel the same as you.
2) You don't really completely believe what you say you believe. You believe that life has some transcendent purpose and meaning, and you believe religion interferes with it.
If the first is the case, you are just a cruel and horrible person. If the second is the case, you are not really an atheist. I'm not sure I can see any third explanation aside from these.

Tommy Robinson, arrested and imprisoned more than two months ago for simply reporting on the trial of a Muslim rape gang, finally got his day in court, won his appeal and got to go home.
He has a new hearing date, so he’ll still be facing charges. But at least this time he can expect to be treated in a reasonable, unbiased manner.

Looking over a few mainstream – clearly left-leaning – reviews of the film, it’s pretty clear that the critics either didn’t actually watch it – or are so indoctrinated in faux-history they’re delusional. They claim there’s no basis for D’Souza’s assertion that progressivism and fascism are just different manifestations of the same basic philosophy. But any honest evaluation of the historical facts, i.e., how those worldviews have ravaged humanity over the last two centuries, would have to acknowledge, not just the obvious similarities between those two ideologies, but their stark contrast with conservatism ~

Jorisch speaks about a sort of directive (from God) he believes is ingrained in the Jewish people, one that pushes them to be “a force for good around the world.” That mission has manifested in a myriad of ways; discoveries, inventions, innovations – improving the lives of millions around the world ~
Think of this. The global Jewish population is estimated to be just under 16 million. That’s one out of every 514 people, less than 0.2 percent of mankind. Yet, amazingly, this tiny ethnic group accounts for 22% of Nobel laureates. Coincidence? Or the hand of God?
I believe the later. God Himself decreed that His chosen people would bless all the families of the earth – and they clearly have. And this despite the fact that they have been the most persecuted ethnic group ever. The very fact that the Jews have survived, thrived and contribute so much to the betterment of humanity – vastly disproportionate to every other nationality – is truly compelling evidence for God’s existence.
It stared back in March with the forced closing of 700 churches. That number has now reached 8,000 as Rwanda’s secular government seems to be growing increasing hostile to Christians.
Rwanda is a fairly small African nation, roughly the size of Massachusetts in area, with a population of about 11 million. Since the civil war in the nineties – and the infamous 1994 genocide – the country has been relatively peaceful. That’s probably due in no small part to the authoritarian tendencies of the secular government. Imagine for instance a mandatory, countywide clean-up on the last Saturday of every month; in Rwanda it’s a practice known as “Umuganda” ~
Rwanda institutionalized Umuganda in its current form in 2009. It’s compulsory for all able-bodied people ages 18 to 65, and the president and Cabinet members pitch in, too, for this monthly community service […]
Police monitor the streets and can stop Rwandans who aren’t participating and make them clean up on the spot. Rwandans who don’t participate in the cleanup can be fined 5,000 francs, nearly $6, not a small sum when average income is about $150 a month.
Alleging violations of building regulations, safety and hygiene standards, pollution laws, and in some cases accusing pastors of “illegal meetings with bad intentions,” the closures began back in March, affecting 700 churches in Kigali Province ~
There is a high level of fear among church leaders. Shortly after the new requirements began to be implemented, officials arrested six pastors accused of plotting to defy the government orders. Although the pastors have since been released, a senior church leader explained that the arrest served as a stern warning to others to not resist the move.

“On checking which churches were included, we learned that all churches are suffering the same fate, and that even churches considered luxurious for local standards have had to close,” a local analyst, who wished to remain anonymous, told World Watch Monitor.
World Watch Monitor learned that in one village the church was closed while a wedding was ongoing. The couple and all the guests were simply told to leave the church during the service, and the church was closed.
Another church was stopped from having services and other meetings (such as home groups) in a school hall as an alternative after all the churches in that parish had been closed. The church had timber instead of a metal door and window frames, and was told the roof also needed to be elevated “just a little”.
Of course to secular progressives, this hyper level of government control must sound like utopia – just ignore the slight stench of fascism. A recent article at NPR mentioned nothing at all about the church closures, instead praising the neat and tidy atmosphere orchestrated by the authoritarian regime ~
President Paul Kagame’s repressive administration is controversial. Yet it has maintained stability in this poor country and spurred development in a region dogged by turmoil and corruption. The streets are quite safe — no small thing given that violent crime is common in nearby countries like Kenya and Tanzania. In Rwanda, rules and laws are largely enforced. And one striking consequence is its remarkable cleanliness, well-paved main streets and sheen of order.
Those most affected by the shuttering were small Pentecostal churches. Jean Bosco Nsabimana, founder of Patmos Church, a Pentecostal congregation, questioned why government officials had not targeted bars and nightclubs.

Swedish authorities report growing problems with migrants sending young daughters to marry older men abroad, both as a strategy to avoid assimilation and to gain European citizenship. While underage marriage is essentially banned in Sweden, the country recognizes underage marriages conducted abroad.
“People see young girls as their sons’ tickets to Europe,” social worker Zubeyde Demirörs told Politico for a recent article. Demirörs, now 45, was herself forcibly married to a Turkish man 22 years her senior when she was 15.

Another guideline says to avoid representing protesters who carry weapons. Antifa carries knives, brass knuckles, axes, crowbars and more deadly objects. An ACLU field director recently defended Antifa’s methods. He glossed over the violence. “It really is going to take a diversity of skills and tactics.”

Dozens of convicted sexual predators deemed too dangerous to be returned to the community after their release from prison are among the thousands who received conditional pardons from Gov. Cuomo, giving them the right to vote, the Daily News has learned.
When you’re soliciting voters, you can’t be picky.
At least 77 sexual predators sent to civil confinement in state psychiatric hospitals after their prison time was up are affected by the widespread pardons, various records show.
“Unfortunately over the last month, we have been threatened and verbally attacked for not backing the immigration agenda at the DHS location and wanting to stay neutral and serve all who are hungry.” […]

People were understandably dismayed by the government’s apparent failure to act quickly to switch back the water once concerns were raised in Flint. But based on this more comprehensive view of the data, we are forced to admit that the furor over this issue seems way out of proportion to the actual dangers to the children from lead exposure.

Right now in Michigan, 8.8 percent of children in Detroit, 8.1 percent of children in Grand Rapids and an astounding 14 percent of children in Highland Park surpass the C.D.C. reference level. Flint is at 2.4 percent. A comprehensive analysis of blood lead levels across the United States reveals at least eight states with blood lead levels higher than Flint’s were during the water switch.
The liberal media has been too busy breathlessly reporting on the Trump administration’s “Zero Tolerance” policy to give attention to the heinous crimes committed by people who shouldn’t be in this country in the first place.

David Hogg, still capitalizing on his 15 minutes of fame following the tragic Parkland high school shooting – and still living comfortably in his reality-free zone – recently tweeted this silly assertion ~
Clearly world history is not a subject on which our public schools spend much time these days. Or maybe they just skip right over the entire 20th century – the most violent one ever, considering the millions murdered by the evil ideology of totalitarianism. We humans are getting more violent not less. So, sorry Mr. Hogg, violence began when Cain murdered Abel and it’s not going away any time soon.
Of course young David must be forgiven for his idealism, as he’s product of his progressive environment. Under an Obama-era directive, his school district simply overlooked the violence in some of his fellow students, apparently wishing it away.
Unfortunately, as I wrote back in March, it’s now painfully obvious that the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting could have been prevented if the school authorities had effectively dealt with Nicholas Cruz when it first became obvious that he was a potential threat to the safety of the other students.
Kelsey Harness, in an article at The Stream last month, described the extremely misguided 2014 federal directive that effectively tied the school’s hands. Giving the O’Ministration far more credit than I ever would, she said ~
The U.S. Department of Education had good intentions in establishing the policy, noting that black students in the 2011-12 school year were three times as likely to be suspended and expelled as white students. Many argued that high suspension rates for minority students contributed to a “school-to-prison pipeline,” where already disadvantaged children ended up incarcerated.
To address this disparity, the Obama administration established new school discipline guidelines in 2014. Using the threat of civil rights lawsuits, the policy urged the nation’s schools to use positive reinforcement instead of punishing students’ bad behavior by suspending or expelling them.
In 2014, the Obama administration issued a “Dear Colleague” guidance that threatened school districts – whose disciplinary measures showed a disproportionately greater number of minority students affected – could be subject to investigation by the Departments of Justice and Education, regardless of whether the behaviors leading to the discipline were unacceptable.
In other words, don’t discipline your (minority) students – or we’ll discipline you.
“The Florida Legislature … has instructed school districts ‘that zero-tolerance policies are not intended to be rigorously applied to petty acts of misconduct and misdemeanors, including, but not limited to, minor fights or disturbances,’” says the PROMISE agreement, signed onto by the school district and law enforcement.
Under such an irrational policy, a delinquent like Cruz was a ticking time bomb. It’s actually amazing we haven’t seen more like him.
In a Baltimore, Maryland school district, there haven’t been any shootings, but one family says it’s due to that same dysfunctional federal disciple policy that their young son is suicidal ~
Nicole Landers found a note written by her 9-year-old son, Jared. “Kill me. I mean nothing. I have issues,” it read.
Her son’s April 16 note, Landers said, was the culmination of months of bullying Jared endured in the classroom. That bullying included being struck in the face and thrown in the mud by another student. Even threats of electrocution.
Nicole and Josh Landers say their 12-year-old daughter, Tamar, has faced multiple instances of sexual harassment in the same school district. They say Justin, their 18-year-old son, was threatened after reporting a student with a knife in class at his school, Loch Raven High School.
This is outrageous. Students must live in fear because bad behavior is now consequence-free?! As the children’s father says ~
“We went from a policy of zero tolerance to extreme tolerance,” Josh Landers says. “All that it has done is caused chaos within classrooms. It has disarmed teachers from having the ability to control their classes and stay safe and protected. Students are bullied relentlessly.”
It’s not just the kids who are endangered by this irrational lack of discipline. Educators are no longer safe in their own classrooms ~
Peter Kirsanow – an African American conservative on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights – cited federal data that showed that, in just the first year of the new Obama-era policy, there were more than 160,000 “physical attacks” on teachers throughout the country, though fewer than 130,000 assailants were expelled.
“Many teachers have been sent to the hospital by students emboldened by the lax discipline rules — which remain in full force, despite the change in administration, and have now been adopted by 53 of the nation’s largest school districts, including NYC,” (journalist Paul Sperry) wrote.
Unlike young Hogg, who naively believes banning guns will magically eliminate violence, Andrew Pollack, a father of one of the Parkland victims, understands that the explanation for this tragedy is far more complicated. Not only has he has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against former Broward Sheriff Deputy Scot Peterson, gunman Nikolas Cruz and several others, he wants to make sure that the Broward County School District School Board has members who will revoke the reckless PROMISE (Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Supports & Education) Program – as Broward’s incarnation of the O’Ministration guideline is called ~
Many believe the program allowed Meadow’s killer to not only avoid punishment for his aggressive behavior but set the scene for him to purchase the weapons he used in the attack.
“I want her death not be in vain and to make sure that other parents in this country realize how important it is to look into local level government,” Pollack said. “That’s where it starts.”
Rather than the ignorant, immature, reactionary antics of David Hogg and his fellow gun-banners, Mr. Pollack is holding accountable the people directly responsible for the death of his daughter – and 16 other students and teachers. And he’s rightly seeking to eliminate the lax discipline climate that allowed a troubled Cruz to slip through the cracks without a criminal record, despite committing multiple crimes.
We can only reduce the violence if we fix what’s broken – and stop ignoring anti-social behavior.

… is an affront to the separation of powers, federalism, and the rule of law. Nothing in the Constitution, legislation, or even regulation authorizes the secretary of education to dictate local school-discipline policy. Rather, the Obama administration did an end run around the Administrative Procedure Act by issuing a sweeping new policy by fiat.
The Civil Rights Act unambiguously, and entirely properly, says that schools may not treat students differently based on their race. But the Obama administration declared that the Civil Rights Act forbids not only disparate treatment in school discipline, but also disparate impact. According to the 2014 letter, schools could face a federal investigation and potential loss of funding even if their rules are fair and applied evenhandedly.
Despite the positive development in Pastor Brunson’s situation, Turkey – under Erdogan – is still a very long way from being a trustworthy member of the international community. Last month the Turks re-elected the power-hungry president and his AKP Justice and Development Party. As Caroline Glick pointed out at the time ~
Sunday’s election served as an endorsement of the constitutional changes that Erdogan forced through the Turkish parliament last year. Those reforms, which transform Turkey into a presidential system and cancel the office of the prime minister, provide Erdogan with unfettered power to govern by fiat. He can pass law by decree, call for elections at any time, appoint anyone he likes to any position he wishes, and declare a state of emergency whenever he wants for however long he likes.
Under the circumstances, whether or not the AKP controls parliament or not has become far less important than it was before the constitutional amendments were passed. Under the reformed constitutional system, the parliament is powerless to check Erdogan’s power.
So essentially, Turkey is now an Islamic dictatorship ~
Erdogan’s emasculation of the parliament is the final stage of his seizure of absolute power. Over his 15 years in office, Erdogan has assumed control of the Turkish media; banking system; judiciary; civil service education system; major industries;, and, most recentlt, the military. There is literally no independent power source capable of challenging his will.
Even the Left knows that the Turkish president is a tyrant, as some of the more delusional among them have, in recent days, recklessly compared Trump to Erdogan. Of course it’s an absurd implication, even for mind-numbed progressives. Donald Trump is hardly driven by a radical ideology, pursuing expansionist aims ~

Glick’s main goal her June 28th piece was to convince the U.S. not to go ahead with a planned sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey. The country may still be a member of NATO, but Erdogan is not our friend. Under his leadership…
• Turkey served as a major purchaser of Iranian oil and gas in defiance of UN Security Council sanctions barring purchase of Iranian oil and gas exports.
• Turkey has cultivated jihadists as allies, Erdogan has spurned Turkey’s traditional allies — Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
• Turkey’s relations with the U.S. have become frosty. As he cultivates mass hatred of Jews in Turkey, so he has cultivated anti-Americanism. Television shows, bestselling books, and other cultural outlets are geared towards instilling deep-seated hatred for America among the Turks. And it is working.
• Turkey is demanding that the U.S. abandon its Kurdish allies in Syria and transfer control over the Kurdish enclaves in eastern Syria — including the town of Manbij, where U.S. Special Forces operate jointly with the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces — to Turkish control.
Furthermore ~
Erdogan has gone to great lengths to cultivate closer ties to Russia. Russia has supported Turkey’s assaults on the Kurds in northern Syria. And Turkey has signed a deal to purchase Russia’s S-400 surface to air missile system. The latter deal lit every possible red light in Washington. As a NATO ally, Turkey is required to purchase systems that are interoperable with NATO platforms. The S-400 is not interoperable.
Moreover, if Erdogan chooses to, once he receives his order of 100 F-35 combat fighters, he will be able to share the stealth technology with Russia and China and thus endanger the viability of the U.S.’s fourth-generation jetfighter.
(B)oth the House and Senate opposed the deal in their versions of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act.
The Defense Department has 90 days from the bill’s final passage to submit a report to lawmakers explaining the strategic value of selling the jet to Turkey, a member of NATO. Until that time, deliveries of the fifth-generation fighter to Turkey will be on hold.
Even if Erdogan does relent and release Brunson, transferring F-35s to his increasingly belligerent regime would be a serious mistake. As Glick concludes ~

The ACLJ launched a global campaign to generate awareness of Pastor Andrew’s plight and called on the U.S. State Department, as well as international organizations – including the United Nations as well as NATO member countries – to demand Turkey – a NATO member – release Pastor Andrew.
Although it doesn’t receive much reportage these days, Syria’s civil war still goes on – with the Assad regime clearly having the upper hand in the conflict. According to this account at The Stream, nearly 300,000 civilians have been displaced in the government’s most recent offensive which began in June. Opposition forces (primarily the Al-Qaeda terrorist network) have been steadily losing ground in southwest Syria, and apparently were pushed up against the border near the Golan Heights. The White Helmets, typically embedded with these groups, were trapped along with the rebels.

The Israeli military, which facilitated the group’s passage from the border area outside the Golan Heights into Israel, called the transfer of the group “an exceptional humanitarian effort.”
The evacuees are being assisted by the UN and Jordan has agreed to hold them for several weeks until they’re relocated in — (of course western countries! Why is that??) Britain, Germany and Canada.
Discussing the proposed rescue plan last week, The Times of Israel was curious about the unusual request for extraction in this particular case ~
In other parts of Syria, where government control has been restored, civil defense volunteers have almost always evacuated to other opposition-controlled areas. It is not clear why this time they will be evacuated out of the country.
Hmmm… But it is awfully suspicious. If this group was truly as non-partisan as they want us to believe – say the Syrian version of the International Red Cross – would they be in such desperate need of rescuing?
Although the Syrian Civil Defense has managed to convince many in the west that they’re some wonderful humanitarian organization, that benevolent image is seriously tarnished by the fact that they operate exclusively in terrorist-held areas of Syria. And suddenly, now that those areas are shrinking, they’re running for cover in the the infidel countries. Curious, no?
The fact is, as I’ve pointed out before, HERE, HERE and HERE, rescue is just a sideline for the White Helmets. They no doubt have saved lives, but their primary function has been agit-prop; stirring up sentiments against the evil Assad.
To get anywhere near the truth about these dudes – or at least beyond the established narrative – you have to drill down 20 pages or so in any search engine, but the facts are out there. There are more than enough conflicting stories available on the group to raise numerous red flags.
The White Helmets, a 3,000 member NGO, was established in “late 2012 – early 2013” after a group of 20 Syrians were trained and organized by former British army officer James Le Mesurier. The problem is, these humanitarians seem to have divided loyalties. I don’t know how credible Clarity of Signal may be on other issues, but they have tons of photos/links adding credence to the theory that Syrian Civil Defense are really just terrorists in disguise. Vanessa Beeley, an independent researcher, writer and photographer, has been reporting on these fraudsters for years. She seems to blame the west for the Islamic chaos in the Middle East (religion-of-peace and all that), so I find many of her opinions controversial, but this rings true, and is quite troubling ~

(T)he White Helmets’ true role as an auxiliary to terrorism was captured on film on several occasions when they participated in Al-Qaeda summary executions and by Facebook postings by numerous White Helmets on their personal accounts showing themselves moonlighting as armed Al-Qaeda fighters and heaping praise on Al-Qaeda leaders. Contrarily, civilians inside the enclaves in Syrian cities liberated from Al-Qaeda and ISIS told many western reporters that the White Helmets provided no medical help or assistance to them, but rather only to the armed terrorists. Moreover, real Syrian Civil Defence workers testified that many of their comrades were killed by Al-Qaeda fighters and their equipment and vehicles given to the White Helmets.

Perhaps fueled by troubling reports that the White Helmets have been accused of staging incidents, the Trump administration has now frozen funding to the group, and has placed support under “active review.”
President Donald Trump has authorized the release of approximately $6.6 million for the White Helmets, a Syrian civil defense organization, and the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism, a U.N. agency that is investigating war crimes committed during the Syrian conflict, according to a statement. That accounts for a fraction of some $200 million in frozen funds for Syria stabilization programs — a move that leaves nearly $195 million in limbo.
I guess at least we can be grateful that the U.S. hasn’t agreed to accept any of these terrorist sympathizers…
The sooner we get completely out of the Syrian mess the better.
(T)he White Helmets only operate in rebel held territory, which enables them to shape the narrative both regarding who they are and what is occurring on the ground. Because of increasing awareness of the back story, there is now a growing movement to petition the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to revoke the Oscar based on the complete and deliberate misrepresentation of what the White Helmets are all about.
Exploiting their access to the western media, the White Helmets have de facto become a major source of “eyewitness” news regarding what has been going on in those many parts of Syria where European and American journalists are quite rightly afraid to go. It is all part of a broader largely successful “rebel” effort to manufacture fake news that depicts the Damascus government as engaging in war crimes directed against civilians.
Always in areas controlled by “moderate opposition” or, quite frankly outright terrorists like ISIS and the group formerly named Jabat al Nusra, this organization has been lauded as the savior of the Syrian people from the beastly depredations of the “regime” and its “brutal dictator,” Assad.
The truth is something a bit different, a truth it would have taken Clooney only a few moments on the internet to discover, that or the most minimal research, which he either did or didn’t do. If he didn’t do the research, he is a dupe, meaning he has been fooled into supporting a terrorist group against a legitimate democratically elected government for purposes of protecting and supporting paid mercenary murders.

Anybody familiar with Brennan’s past, which includes not only supporting the evil empire of the Soviets but also the evil empire of radical Islam (his time as Obama’s CIA director was marked by apologetics for the thugs of the Muslim Brotherhood, ludicrous attempts to sanitize the concept of jihad, and nonstop whitewashing of the problem of Islamic terrorism), can only laugh at his anti-Trump antics. That the media gives this fulminating fool and fraud a platform is a measure of its own lack of seriousness and absurdly sudden hawkishness.

He once said that he feared his support for Soviet stooge Gus Hall threatened his entrance into the CIA in 1980. This sounds like a wild satirical parody, but it isn’t: a dupe for the Soviet Union rises to the top of the CIA, uses his position to shill for Islamic radicals, eggs the FBI into spying on the Trump campaign, then leaves the CIA only to resume the radicalism of his youth, calling for civil disobedience and the overthrow of a duly elected president. Brennan’s only expertise on treachery comes from his own.
And yet this charlatan – who refused to take his oath of office on the Bible – served as CIA director from March 2013 to January 2017. Brennan was chief counterterrorism advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama. His responsibilities included overseeing plans to protect the country from terrorism and respond to natural disasters, and he met with the President daily.
Instead, he was surreptitiously subverting U.S. security. And now, working as a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, he’s actively subverting Trump’s administration, outrageously characterizing the president’s performance at a press conference with Vladimir Putin as “treasonous.”

Progressives are squawking that this is political – but they’re the one’s who have leveled the ongoing partisan attacks on the current administration. The Russian Collusion farce has been a hoax since day one, engineered to cover-up the Left’s attempt to undermine Trump’s election.
And politics aside, Why should this even be a problem? Lower level employees immediately lose their security clearance when they’re no longer working in a particular administration. National security should be such a huge priority that access should strictly limited – not passed out like parking passes. Pull their clearance – yesterday!
