No, we weren’t wrong to bomb Japan

Today is the 72nd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Because the Japanese still refused to surrender, we hit Nagasaki three days later, on August 9th, 1945.

Increasingly, smug progressives (like Jon Stewart) are losing touch with the historical realities of World War II. Conveniently forgotten are the horrors that Imperial Japan inflicted on America and her allies – not to mention on their own people. By 1945 Japan’s leaders were growing increasingly psychotic; they were actually prepared for “extinction, rather than surrender.”
