Is a little refugee reciprocity too much to ask for?

crossinhandsWe Americans are told by our progressive friends on the Left we must be inclusive. We’re told to embrace diversity. We’re told to welcome and love the “other.” After all, we’re told, those are our values. Then we’re told Muslim refugees rush to our shores because they share our values…

Funny thing though – as even a cursory observation reveals – the actions of most Middle Eastern and North African Muslims tell us just the opposite.

For years now I’ve been documenting the ongoing Christian genocide in that part of the world. Islamists have murdered or expelled “kafirs” from vast areas of Sudan, Somalia, Egypt (Coptic Christians), Syria and Iraq. And once Christians have been forced out of their homelands, any remaining religious structures are frequently leveled, erasing all traces of millennia of their presence.

Even now for example, with some form of stability finally returning to Iraq, Christians are being completely left out of their country’s plans for reconstruction (as World Watch Monitor reports) ~

Christians are being excluded from the reconstruction plans for northern Iraq, further eroding the likelihood of their return once Islamic State has been militarily defeated there, an alliance of UK-based charities has warned.

Anyone see any evidence of inclusivity? Diversity? Or even that perennial favorite coexistence? No ~

Iraqi Christians firmly believe that Iraq is their spiritual homeland; their presence dates back at least to the 3rd Century. Before 2003, there were approximately 1.5 million Christians in Iraq, but estimates now range from 200,000 to 500,000. Approximately 70% of Iraq’s Christians are from the Chaldean Catholic tradition, while the remainder are Syriac Orthodox, Syriac Catholic, Armenian and Protestant.

After the Allied invasion of Iraq, many Christians fled the Baghdad area for the north, where some towns (such as Qaraqosh) had been almost 95% Christian before 2003. It’s estimated that at the time Mosul was invaded by Islamic State in June 2014, only about 3,000 Christians were left from the 35,000 there in 2003.

But now we’re being lectured to by leftists who say we must accept into this country more of the same people that refuse to allow true refugees back into their own homelands?

President Trump’s executive order on temporary visa suspensions applies to seven Muslim countries. Every one of them rates near the top of Open Doors’ World Watch List which tracks world-wide persecution and oppression of Christians. The number shown after each country indicates its ranking (For comparison purposes, the evil empire of North Korea is numero uno) ~

• Somalia #2
• Sudan #5
• Syria #6
• Iraq #7
• Iran #8
• Yemen #9
• Libya #11

Frankly, all this inclusion, diversity, peace and love talk has grown tedious. Until we see some serious advancement of human rights in these Muslim nations, until we get some assurance that Christians will be treated with mutual respect – and not forced into permanent refugee status in their own lands(!) – we shouldn’t be importing people who truly don’t believe in liberty and justice for all.

The left has formed an alliance with Islamic terrorists. Some of the lawyers who rush to airports to aid Muslims detained on immigration charges also rush to prisons to help Muslim terrorists detained in plots to massacre Americans. They don’t love refugees. They hate America. They hate us.
