The Religion-of-Peace seems intent on driving out the few remaining Christians from Sudan. Late last month, after only a couple days notice, the town of Omdurman demolished one church to allegedly make way for “development.” And arsonists torched another in Gadaref, East Sudan. World Watch Monitor has the story ~

Two Sudan churches destroyed, one for a ‘marketplace’ ~
In April 2013, the Sudanese minister of religious affairs announced that no licenses would be granted to allow for building new churches. This means the congregants, now displaced by the state’s demolition or by arson, cannot hope to have a replacement.

Bishop Yagoub Boutros, a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sudan claimed the plan to target churches in Sudan has become a general issue […]

He accused the authorities of showing no respect for religious rites. “The authorities’ claim that there is co-existence between religions is just for political consumption, but in fact there is no religious coexistence,” he said.

Sudan lost the majority of its Christian population when the South became independent in July 2011, following an overwhelming vote in favour of secession from the predominantly Arab and Muslim North.

Not surprisingly, the Christians left in the North have been finding life in the Islamic nation less than easy.

Sudan is number 6 on Open Doors list of countries that persecute Christians ~

The overwhelming majority of the population in Sudan is Sunni Muslim, and Sharia law is the foundation of Sudan’s legal system. The incumbent regime is authoritarian and strives to control all aspects of life of its citizens. Blasphemy laws are used country-wide to persecute and prosecute Christians. Apostasy is criminalized, punishable by the death penalty, and it is very harsh especially on non-Arabs.

[Incidentally, it was Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, who recently met with the famous Muslim “clock boy” ~ Ahmed Mohamed Hugs Sudan’s Genocidal Theocrat Omer Hassan al-Bashir]

In today’s upside down world, Muslims are “peaceful” and westerners “Islamophobic.” And we’re not supposed to ask why it is that in Muslim nations, Christians are never allowed to “coexist.”
