Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Congress Demands Explanation for Clarence Thomas’ Exclusion From Black History Smithsonian ~ Seventeen members of Congress (none of them Democrats by the way) sent a letter to the Smithsonian Thursday, insisting that the museum explain their exclusion of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from the National Museum of African American History and Culture ~

“Justice Thomas’ contributions to the judicial system through his appointment to the highest court in the country cannot be discounted. It is a disservice to his legacy and to the history of this nation to mention his name in a single caption, but provide no other exhibit showcasing his story.”

History Rhymes: ObamaCare Website and the Ukrainian Wheat Farmers ~ A brief history lesson re-posted from Ann Barnhardt for those who have forgotten Stalin’s state-engineered famine on the 1930’s. Totalitarians excel at sabotaging the middle class and destroying the civil society.

State Department orders families of consulate workers in Istanbul to leave amid violence ~ Turkey meltdown?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department is ordering family members of employees posted to the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul to leave because of security concerns.

In a statement issued Saturday, the State Department says the decision is based on security information indicating extremist groups are continuing aggressive efforts to attack U.S. citizens in areas of Istanbul where they reside or frequent.

“Extremist groups?” Or the Turkish government itself?

Historic Church Becomes Hall of Blasphemy ~ Sad. Catholic church surrenders to paganism ~

The archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey has scrapped a historic church, which is now being used for New Age meditation, disordered parties and gay weddings.

Saint Bridget’s Church in downtown Newark was designed by Patrick Keely, one of the most prolific architects in U.S history. Church Militant spoke with Edward Furey, president of the Patrick Keely Society, who described the sale of St. Bridget’s — which has an ornate high altar and one-of-a-kind stained glass windows — as “an egregious offense against the Catholic Church.”

Jen Hatmaker’s Millstone: Evangelical Reality Star Favors Gay ‘Marriage,’ But Former Lesbian Objects ~ Whatever happy, accepting face you want to put on homosexual sex, if you want to save souls, pretending sin isn’t, is not the answer ~

“A hateful world applies the category mistake of sexual orientation identity like a noose,” telling LGBT people that how they feel tells them who they are. Christians had failed by not telling them “that sin and Christ cannot abide together, for the cross never makes itself an ally with the sin.” […]

“We also have failed to discern the true nature of the Christian doctrine of sin. For when we advocate for laws and policies that bless the relationships that God calls sin, we are acting as though we think ourselves more merciful than God is.”
~ Rosaria Butterfield

Canadian Court Sides With Religious Liberty Against LGBT Agenda ~ This is encouraging. Until now Canada’s government has been even more pro-LGBT-agenda than ours ~

A five-judge panel in Langley, British Columbia ruled unanimously Tuesday that denying a Christian law school accreditation because of its official stance against homosexuality is a violation of religious freedom.

Information Warfare: Communist Takeover of U.S. Entertainment Industry ~

Chinese money has been shaping the movie industry for years, mainstream news reports have revealed, and one major newspaper reported earlier this year that China is expected to become the world’s biggest box office by the end of 2017.

Not to mention director Oliver Stone’s totalitarian leanings and his admiration for traitor Edward Snowden.

Is the Obama regime setting the stage for invalidating a Trump election victory? ~ Nothing would really surprise us at this point. Flopping Aces first recaps the audaciously corrupt activities of the Obama INjustice Department, then considers some recent ominous developments.

Cities Are Making Their Walls Spray Back at Public Urinators ~ Ha! “Pee-back Time” Check out the video. Love this creative way to encourage civil behavior.

Cajun Navy ~ A personal calling to do the right thing ~ In the wake of South Louisiana’s Great Flood of 2016…

… this sea of Good Samaritans will forever be remembered for their courage in the face of devastation, and kindness in the face of incredible pain and loss. They have earned a place in Louisiana history and Louisiana’s heart.
