We-the-People vs. the Washington Cartel

Ted Cruz has recently taken to referring to our elite ruling class as the Washington Cartel. How perfectly appropriate.

Obviously he’s not the first person to notice that our governing class seems to have evolved into a one-party system, but he’s certainly one of the few with the cojones, within the system, to point out the obvious – the federal government has totally usurped the power that rightly belongs to we-the-people.

From a July 26th statement ~

“Senate leadership consists of the McConnell-Reid leadership team. They operate as a team. They support the same priorities. If you look at what has occurred in the United States Senate since the Republicans took a majority, we immediately returned after winning a historic majority to pass a trillion dollar ‘cromnibus’ bill filled with corporate welfare and pork. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund Obamacare. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to confirm Loretta Lynch as attorney general. Then, just moments ago, the so-called Republican majority voted to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, an egregious example of cronyism and corporate welfare.

“Every one of those is the priority of the Democratic leader Harry Reid. Every one of those is the priority of the Republican leader, Mitch McConnell. They operate as a team, expanding Washington and undermining the liberty of the people.”

Many in the RINO chattering class are accusing Cruz of grandstanding for campaign purposes. They’re obviously part of the problem, invested in the status quo.

Senator Cruz just happens to be one of the very few in D.C. unafraid to speak the truth. And he’s far from the “radical” that the leftist media paints him as. Here he was last Sunday, calmly explaining just how devious the Senate establishment is ~

On the House side, we heard today from another courageous voice speaking out against the congressional corruptacracy. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) filed a motion aimed at dumping John Boehner immediately as Speaker of the House ~ It’s On: Rep. Mark Meadows Makes Move To Unseat John Boehner As Speaker Immediately ~

“Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) has filed a motion to try to force Speaker John Boehner from his leadership post,” Politico wrote in a breaking news alert. “The move, called a motion to vacate the chair, represents a new level of opposition to GOP leadership from the conservative wing of the House Republican Conference. The motion can be postponed for several days before consideration.”

Meadows spoke with Mark Levin earlier tonight (You can listen to their conversation HERE). While he’s clearly aware of the risk he’s taking this action, Rep. Meadows feels he has no choice, that his constituents elected him to stand up to this arrogant oligarchy.

Exactly. That’s how our representative government, out Constitutional Republic, is supposed to work!

Both Meadows and Cruz deserve our gratitude and support for taking on the Washington Cartel. Let’s let them know, via calls, emails, etc., as well as telling our individual representatives to stand with them. Let’s take back the government the founders bequeathed to us!

founders-quote-JAdams“Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.”
