The House that Obama Built

According to our feckless leader, individual American’s haven’t built anything. He, on the other hand, has been very busy “building” for the last three and a half years. Unfortunately, what Obama has hastily constructed is an ugly, unstable, top-heavy heap of government tyranny. It’s unwieldy, unsightly and hazardous to the nation’s health. It must be condemned and demolished – as soon as possible.

Here, from the always entertaining People’s Cube, is a contemporary version of the old tale; “The House that Jack Built,” reminding us of exactly what sort of disaster the president and his elitist cronies have “built.” ~

This is the House that Obama Built

These are the firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the media that didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

These are the crony big business concerns
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

These are the blessed condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

These are the men all tidy and shorn
That cheered the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the priest who was made to reform
That married the men all tidy and shorn
That cheered the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn

That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

These are the people all tattered and torn
That once trusted the priest who was made to reform
That married the men all tidy and shorn
That cheered the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the gas that was made out of corn
That used to be food for those tattered and torn
That once trusted the priest who was made to reform
That married the men all tidy and shorn
That cheered the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn
That the state must provide from the day we are born
That was paid with the money all wasted and gone
That came from the stimulus ready to burn
That the crony big businesses didn’t return
That gave to the unions what they didn’t earn
That the media saw but didn’t inform
That everyone’s broke except for those firms
That paid for the house that Obama built

This is the clunker tooting its horn
That was fueled by the gas made out of corn
That used to be food for those tattered and torn
That once trusted the priest who was made to reform
That married the men all tidy and shorn
That cheered the maiden in a Georgetown dorm
That milked the taxpayers for the condoms and porn

Progressivism – Back to the Future

“…the future is not so much a place as it is a state of mind. It is a fervent faith in the inevitability of human progress. Men have died for this faith and men are still dying for it.” ~ Daniel Greenfield ~

“Forward.” proclaims Obama’s reelection campaign, urging the country to keep moving… ostensibly, to four more years of “Hope and Change.”

If “Forward” sounds a bit backward, that’s because it’s eerily reminiscent of last century’s totalitarian movements. Forward, Onward, Upward – these are always bywords of the Progressives, relentlessly moving toward the future, ever in their futile pursuit of utopia.

Progressives are never satisfied with the world as they find it. They’re forever concocting schemes to perfect things, particularly human nature, which can be so inconveniently messy. Progressives love dreaming about the future.

As Daniel Greenfield at Sultan Knish points out in an insightful piece, The World of Tomorrow ~

The last century has represented a great love affair with the future. A hundred years of spring cleaning accompanied by the resounding cry, “Out with the old, in with the new.” Everyone was a progressive now. The one thing that all the participants in the Second World War had in common was that they were all dreaming of the future. A Thousand Year Reich, a United Nations or Communism: millions died for the sake of a wonderful future.

And let’s not forget China’s ironically-named “Great Leap Forwardin which some 40 million lives were sacrificed in pursuit of Mao’s vision of a socialist paradise.

Because progressives never learn from history (or more frightening, perhaps because they do), here they are in the 21st century, still marching back-to-the-future wearing rose-colored glasses. Consider the London Olympics opening ceremony ~

Britain’s Olympics opener celebrated the journey from the industrial revolution to the NHS euthanasia bed. While capitalism killed workers randomly and unscientifically, the progressive state kills them scientifically and methodically. Any old factory can kill a worker by dropping a load on his head or allowing him to inhale fumes that in retrospect turn out to be toxic, but it takes a genuinely progressive turn of mind to leave him lying in bed for three days begging for a drink of water while he dies because he has become, in the fine German phrase, “Lebensunwertes Leben” or “Life Unworthy of Life…”

Hey, guess that’s progress!

Today’s western Progressives will never actually come out and admit it, but they really don’t buy the idea of inalienable rights like life and liberty. Those are merely obstacles to the collectivist dream of world peace and harmony. And well, sometimes you gotta break a few eggs…*

When our modern institutions aren’t starving retired workers to death in soiled hospital beds, they are rationing out water and air, earth and sky. They warn us that there are iceberg shortages, shortages of soil and swampland. Our rationing has gone planetary. We imprison men for filling in wetlands and cap and trade the heat of the planet. Our collectivist world state allows no sparrow to fall without charging someone with unlicensed hunting.

I don’t know about you comrade, but “Forward.” sounds awfully backward to me.

Church of England Stands up for Traditional Marriage

Prime Minister David Cameron, obviously as philosophically adrift as his counterpart across the pond, is on a mission to deconstruct marriage in Britain. It’s evident, as we witness our own culture erode, that progressives’ “morality,” such as it is, is entirely relative. “Right” and “wrong” are based on their present feelings, personal desires and frequently, political expediency. The very concept of transcendent truth is foreign to these folks.

So I imagine that Britain’s same-sex marriage proponents are more than a little upset to find that the Church of England is actually claiming that all truth is not subjective; particularly when it comes to marriage.

I was pleasantly surprised by this article by Mark Tooley at the American Spectator reporting that the Church, not exactly a bastion of conservatism, is opposing any attempts to “alter the intrinsic nature of marriage as the union of a man and a woman, as enshrined in human institutions throughout history.”

The Church issued an official response stating its opposition to the government’s push for same-sex marriage with vigorous, point-by-point rebuttals:

“Marriage is not the property of the Church any more than it is the property of the Government. It is about a mutually faithful physical relationship between a man and a woman…”

“If you do what the Government say they are going to do, you can no longer define marriage in that way. It becomes hollowed out, and about a relationship between two people, to be defined on a case-by-case basis.”

Imposed same sex marriage would precipitate the “gradual unravelling of the Church of England which is a very high cost for the stability of society.”

Marriage benefits society by “promoting mutuality and fidelity, but also by acknowledging an underlying biological complementarity which, for many, includes the possibility of procreation.”

Although progressives and other assorted secularists and non-believers seem to relish “shaking their fist at God,” it’s encouraging to see that the Church of England most emphatically does not.

Things could get very interesting now that they’ve expressed official opposition, because the Church of England, as the nation’s established church, still wields political and constitutional powers. As Tooley concludes his article:

The church’s defense of traditional marriage may have lasting constitutional implications for Britain. It may also turn out to be its finest hour.

Amen.

“Dinesh, you are like a brother to me”

Dinesh D’Souza, president of The Kings’ College and author of numerous books including “The Roots of Obama’s Rage,” and “Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream,” met Barack Obama’s half brother George in February, interviewing him for the just-released documentary “2016: Obama’s America.” George lives in Nairobi, Kenya and is the youngest of eight children that Barack Obama, Sr. had with his four different wives.

Dinesh D’Souza interviews George Obama, the President’s half-brother, in Kenya.

In an article published today at Fox News, Dinesh tells about a recent phone call he received from George. Seems his son was hospitalized with a chest condition and George needed $1000 for the medical bills ~

Since George was at the hospital I asked him to let me speak to a nurse, and she confirmed that George’s son was indeed ill. So I agreed to send George the money through Western Union. He was profusely grateful. But before I hung up I asked George, “Why are you coming to me?” He said, “I have no one else to ask.” Then he said something that astounded me, “Dinesh, you are like a brother to me.”

Let that sink in for a minute.
George Obama turns to a man he only recently met for help – instead of his own half brother – the president of the United States of America??!!

Obama’s refusal to help George is especially surprising because George doesn’t just live in American-style poverty but rather in Third World poverty. He lives in a shanty in the Huruma slum in Nairobi. He gets by on a few dollars a month. Obama also has an aunt named Hawa Auma, his father’s sister, who ekes out a living selling coal on the streets of a small village in Kenya. She says she would like to have her teeth fixed, but she cannot afford it. Obama hasn’t offered to help her either.

Dinesh admits that George may not be a choir-boy…

But so what? George may be a drinker and a skirt-chaser but, as becomes clear from his book, he is also a survivor. He has overcome his past as a gang-member and petty thief and now works as the organizer of a slum soccer league. He is trying to uplift himself, and he is trying to help slum kids aspire to a better life.

Barack Obama has the audacity to admonish the rest of us to be “our brother’s keeper???” ~

Here is a man who demands that others pay higher taxes to help the poor—even poor people who are not related to them—while Obama himself refuses to help a close relative like George.

Be sure to read the whole article HERE. If this episode doesn’t demonstrate what a world-class hypocrite President Barack Obama is, nothing will!

A Call for Christian Courage – “Silence is not an option”

Below is a V.I.P. (Very Important Post) from Matt Barber, policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America, and an attorney specializing in constitutional law. Matt, like so many of us, sees the moral, spiritual and political decay infecting our society, the growing threats to our religious freedoms, and recognizes America’s need for a strong, effective Christian presence like never before.

He has asked that this message be distributed to every church and Christian leader across the country ~

With the exception of one column previously penned, I pray this becomes my most widely read to date.

The secular left has mastered use of the Internet to further its extremist goals. To that end, I have a strange request. I’m asking each God-fearing, freedom-loving American who reads this column to forward it, post it, tweet it, print it out and give it to every pastor, priest or cleric you know. If you don’t know any, give it to someone who does.

One need only look to the HHS mandate forcing Christian groups – both Catholic and Protestant – to violate, under penalty of law, biblical prohibitions against abortion homicide.

Or consider recent attempts by multiple elected officials to shutdown Chick-fil-A – a private, Christian-owned business – simply because its leadership holds the biblical view of marriage.

Is this George Washington’s America, or Joseph Stalin’s Russia?

It’s definitely not your father’s USA.

Instead, wouldn’t we prefer the America envisioned by our Founding Fathers? A constitutional republic wherein individual liberty – whether economic, First Amendment or Second Amendment-related – is sacrosanct and off limits?

Pastors, you’re it. You’re our front line of defense. It’s up to you to rally the troops. Now begins the second American Revolution and, as with the first, it’s on you – men of the cloth – to take the lead.

That is, if you hope to remain free to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of chicken: In recent years there’s been an epidemic of cultural inaction exhibited by far too many ministers of the gospel. It’s fear-based. “Oh, I don’t talk about political issues,” they say. “You know, ‘separation of Church and State’ and all that.”

Baloney.

If this is you – and only you and our Lord know for sure – you’ve been deceived by the enemies of God. You’ve chosen the easy way out – the path of least resistance. This is something Christ, whom all Christians are called to emulate, never did – not once.

So, respectfully, man-up, Padre! Be the “salt and light of the world,” as Christ so admonished.

But you don’t have to go it alone. There are detailed, easily digestible tools available. Civil-rights firm Liberty Counsel, for instance, is distributing more than 100,000 copies of “Silence is Not an Option,” a concise, though comprehensive, DVD and printed material collection informing pastors and churches about what is permissible regarding political activity. Please, get it for your church.

“The church must be empowered to confront the assaults on our culture, our faith, and our freedom,” said Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. ”I don’t want any pastor, church leader or lay person to say, ‘What more could I have done to protect life and liberty?’”

“Silencing people of faith in the public square has always been the goal of those who realize the influence that pastors, churches and people of faith have on elections. I want pastors to remove the muzzle and replace it with a megaphone,” he said. “Pastors and churches have a lot of freedom to address biblical and moral issues, to educate people about the candidates, and to encourage people to vote. Not one church has ever lost its tax-exemption for endorsing or opposing candidates or for supporting or opposing local, state or federal laws.”

Did you get that? Despite hundreds of thousands of threatening letters sent by hard-left groups like the ACLU and Barry Lynn’s Americans United, not a single church has lost tax-exemption for socio-political activity – zip, zero, nada. Not even for endorsing candidates from the pulpit.

Indeed, if these anti-Christian bullies had been around two-and-a-half centuries ago, and our forefathers had paid them any mind, we may never have had the first American Revolution.

Don’t let them halt the second.

We’re on the precipice of the abyss, and, pastors, I think you know it. But know this too: There’s a whole lot relating to both culture and politics you can both say and do, and very little – if anything – you can’t.

Churches can educate about political, moral and biblical issues. These kinds of issues – whether abortion, marriage, feeding the poor or any community issue – are never off limits from the pastor’s pulpit, even if politicians are also talking about them. “Silence is Not an Option” systematically addresses the misrepresentations used to muzzle America’s pastors and Christian leaders.

Leading up to Ronald Reagan’s landslide presidential victory in 1980, Rev. Jerry Falwell captured the crux of the church’s apathy problem: “What is wrong in America today?” he asked. “We preachers – and there are 340,000 of us who pastor churches – we hold the nation in our hand. And I say this to every preacher: We are going to stand accountable before God if we do not stand up and be counted.”

Dr. Falwell’s words ring no less true today.

Imagine the benefit to our culture if thousands of churches across America registered millions of Christians to vote. How about pledge-drives wherein pastors ask tens-of-millions of Christians to simply commit to voting biblical values?

The possibilities are limitless.

Proverbs 4:18 reminds us: “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

Shine bright, salt and light. Don’t be choked into dark silence.

Because silence is not an option.

It can’t be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matt Barber – August 13, 2012
If America is not going to become just another failed civilization, it will be Jesus Christ, through His Church – a Church fully committed to being the “salt and light” of our culture – that will save her.
Viva Cristo Rey!
Tax Freedom… and “Fair Share” for All
“The first requisite of a good citizen in this Republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his own weight.” ~ Teddy Roosevelt ~
The United States will never again be the world’s engine of prosperity until every American is really contributing their fair share. Until everyone who’s able to is helping to pull the wagon, instead of riding in it. Here’s one straightforward and effective way to make that happen:
This Week’s “New Low;” ICE’d
Following on the heels of last week’s discrimination lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, ICE chief of staff Suzanne Barr has “voluntarily placed herself on leave.”
The New York Post reports that, among various allegations, the lawsuit charges that Barr, in April and May 2009;
… “removed the entire contents of the offices of three male employees, including nameplates, computers and telephones, to the men’s bathroom at ICE headquarters.”
“Barr also created a frat-house type atmosphere that is targeted to humiliate and intimidate male employees,” court papers say.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Throughout centuries of human history women have traditionally had a civilizing effect on the males of the species; curbing men’s enthusiasm for the brash and bawdy. Today’s modern woman on the other hand has thoroughly rejected her feminine nature and embraced the lewd, coarse and vulgar. Some are so offensive the average male is disgusted by them.

New allegations this week include this comment from an ICE employee:

“During this party, Suzanne Barr approached me and offered to” perform oral sex.

Charming. This is the type of behavior we used to associate with a $5 hooker. Coming from a federal employee – particularly in a position of leadership – it’s disgraceful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Actually, in view of Obama’s recent unconstitutional “Dreamer” directive and the fed’s overall dereliction of duty when it comes to border enforcement, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) itself has become an oxymoron.
And Barr’s shameful conduct is just another product of the progressives’ culture of corruption.
2012 Olympic High-LIGHTS
So what were your favorite 2012 Olympic moments? The British-themed-rock ‘n roll-extravaganzas of the opening and closing events (the Queen skydiving?)? The individual athletic performances? The medal ceremonies?
Actually the real highlights for me didn’t receive much attention from NBC – or any other mainstream media outlets. What I found most impressive was the grateful acknowledgement from so very many athletes of the role that faith plays in their lives and accomplishments ~ His-Lights. 🙂
After winning gold in the women’s 500 meter race last Friday, Meseret Defar of
Ethiopia pulled a picture of the Virgin Mary & Baby Jesus out from under her jersey, showed it to the cameras and held it up to her face in deep prayer.
[Credit: Alexander Hassens/Getty Images Sport/Getty Images]
From Gabby Douglas (gymnastics) to Vincent Hancock (shooting), Missy Franklin (swimming) and David Boudia (diving), it’s been awesome to see so many young Christian athletes gratefully giving God the glory.
Christians were also well-represented in Track & Field events:
Meseret Dafar (above)
Leonel “Leo” Manzano ~ silver medal, 1500-meter
Kellie Wells ~ bronze medal, 100 meter hurdles
Usain Bolt ~ gold medal, 200 meter sprint
Allyson Felix ~ gold medal, 200 meter sprint;
In what Sports Illustrated described as “the best night for Team USA on the track since Aug. 6, 1992,” our athletes won seven medals: three gold (Felix, Brittney Reese in the long jump and Aries Merritt in the 110-meter hurdles), two silver (Lashinda Demus in the 400-meter hurdles and Jason Richardson in the 110-meter hurdles) and two bronze (Jeter and Janay DeLoach in the long jump). Every one of them gave thanks and/or glory to God for their wins.
Tweets were flying on Twitter during the Games, the social media network was even down for an hour or two in the first week. And Christian athletes weren’t at all shy about letting their followers know Who inspired them; #Godbetheglory.
“We weren’t given these talents to be mediocre. Our God is great – He deserves greatness.”
~ Lauren Cheney U.S. women’s soccer team ~
“First day of competition at #2012Olympics. I’m nervous but excited. Phillipians 4:13” [I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.]
~ Jonathon Horton U.S. gymnastics team
Although Ryan Hall (coached by God) wasn’t able to complete the men’s marathon yesterday, simply qualifying for the Olympics was a huge accomplishment ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Credit the “new media;” alternative news sites, blogs, and twitter, for getting out the stories about these confident Christians. And above all, thank God ~
for these incredible athletes and their personal witness. And for what I believe was His response to petitions like this Torch Relay Prayer offered by the Church of England:

As this light travels our nation,
may your light, O God, shine in the hearts of all
who gather to celebrate the energy, skill and dedication of others.
Send your Holy Spirit
to light up our lives
and set our hearts on fire with love for you;
through Christ our Lord. Amen

“In God We (still?) Trust”

“We’ve taken God out of everything, and now look at the problems we’re having as a nation.”

Cary Nix, Smith County, TX commissioner

Even though our illustrious leader would like to prevaricate as usual ~

Recall this from an Obama speech in November 2010 at the University of Indonesia:

“In the United States, our motto is ‘E pluribus unum’ — out of many, one,” he said, then compared it to the Indonesian motto, “Bhennika Tunggal Ika — unity in diversity.”

~ our national motto is, and has been, “In God We Trust” since 1956, when Congress voted to adopt it as such. It’s been inscribed on our currency for decades; on coins as far back as 1864 and on paper money since 1954.

Yet it’s clear that if the President and his progressive pals had their way they’d replace “God” with “Government” wherever the motto is found (Remember when it was moved to the edges of particular coins?). Every action this administration has taken – ramming through Obamacare, doubling food stamp spending, bailing out businesses, eliminating welfare reform — is either directly or indirectly aimed at forcing us into total dependence on the federal government.

Those of us who prefer to rely on the Lord, instead of Obama and his cronies, can take heart from a recent To the Source article by Troy Anderson. Seems a growing number of local governments are starting to push back against the secularists’ attempts to purge God from the public square ~

In recent decades, the national motto, the Ten Commandments, crosses on government seals and at veteran’s memorials, the National Day of Prayer, the words “so help me God” used to conclude the presidential oath of office and prayer in school have faced legal challenges across the nation.

Since 1996, the national motto has been the target of seven court challenges, including lawsuits by Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow who alleged it violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

But legal experts say the tide in this cultural and legal battle turned last year when the U.S. Supreme Court quietly turned down Newdow’s appeal to the high court.

Then, in November 2011, Congress approved a resolution by U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes, R-Va., reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the official national motto. The resolution went further, encouraging cities and counties to display the motto on public buildings nationwide.

In fact, in the last couple of years, nearly 300 city councils, county commissioners and county supervisors across the country have voted to display “In God We Trust” prominently in government buildings and schools. Even in more than 90 cities and counties in… California!

Bakersfield City Councilwoman Jacquie Sullivan felt so strongly about public display of the motto that she founded In God We Trust – America, Inc. in 2004. The organization’s mission:

To Promote Patriotism
By Encouraging Elected Officials
To Legally Display Our National Motto,
“In God We Trust”
In Every City, County and State Chamber in America

As Anderson reminds us:

From the very beginning, a central theme has run through the thread of American history: the Puritan idea – borrowed from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount – that America is a “city upon a hill” that would be blessed if it remained obedient to God.

As long as our trust is firmly placed in the hands of Almighty God – and not with the utopian socialists in Washington D.C. – America will remain that shining city on a hill.
