Fifty Shades of Perversion
Yippee. Just in time for Valentines’ Day, Hollywood tosses another million dollar piece of trash out into theaters across the country, one that’s guaranteed to further degrade the institution of holy matrimony in America.
In case your don’t know, Fifty Shades of Grey – the movie and the book it’s based on – is soft pornography aimed primarily at women. It’s the sordid tale of a wealthy playboy would seduces a young woman. Their relationship rapidly devolves into a sadomasochistic one; which like all sick fantasies, really turns them both on.
Owen Strachan (asst prof of Christian theology & church history at Boyce College), writing in the Baptist Press, explains how detrimental this film will be to a culture already awash in moral relativity: How ’50 Shades of Grey’ harms women & Jesus saves them ~
(In the film) A man who sexually uses and abuses women is cool, mysterious and compelling.
Let me speak as strongly as I should here: 50 Shades of Grey is disgusting, despicable and unerringly awful for women. Don’t view this film as just a film. Know that it is much more. It is representative of the new sexual progressivism and its amoral worldview. 50 Shades of Grey speaks to where things are headed in our culture.
We should not expect that postmodernism will protect women. It will do no such thing. We should not expect that it will ennoble men and call them to self-sacrificial responsibility. It will do no such thing. We should not expect that postmodernism will bless children and strengthen the family. It will do no such thing.
Those who work against biblical manhood and womanhood, who fight the Scripture’s teaching as marginalizing are in fact undermining the last cultural defense that still stands against male predation and sexual suffering.
50 Shades of Grey may seem exciting, enticing and alluring. It is in truth nihilistic, degrading and devastating. Any woman who has been sexually abused will be very clear that there is nothing romantic, fun and satisfying in the experience. It’s unthinkable — but true — that this is the vision of the good life being offered to and received by many, many women today.
Abuse of women is evil to the very core of what evil represents. Yet our double-minded culture decries “rape culture” and then — in a spasm of confusion — turns around and extols what it just condemned.
Think about how confusing sexual mores are today for young men and women. There is effectively no standard of sexual conduct on many secular college campuses, for example, outside of mutual consent. But media like 50 Shades of Grey entice young men to sexually abuse women while exhorting young women to engage in harmful sexual practices.
Honestly, what kind of twisted, deviant culture is this?
Traditionally Valentine’s Day has been a celebration of love and romance. Ultimately, a film like Fifty Shades of Grey will help pervert and destroy both.

If only there were a vaccination for deceit
If your head is spinning over the great vaccinate debate, you’re not alone. Not only does each new story seem to contradict the last, the politicos and pundits themselves have been on both sides of the argument over the years. Seems there’s no one source that can be relied on for the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
There are the Alex Jones (Info Wars), conspiracy types, who claim that every government-sponsored immunization program is a deliberate plot by the feds to “dumb down the host population” ~
[Then again, they could be on to something…]
When it comes to the mainstream media, it’s parents who opt out of vaccinating their children that deserve to be demonized ~
But when individuals selfishly refuse to vaccinate their children, seeking a free ride on the rest of the herd, immunity breaks down and innocents are put at risk.
The medical profession isn’t in agreement on the issue either. We hear from one well-known doctor who believes there should be ~

Yet another says:

Is the truth somewhere in the middle? Well, let’s start with a couple key facts.
First of all, vaccinations are not a panacea; none are 100% effective. More than 10% of those contracting measles at Disneyland had been specifically vaccinated against the illness.
Second, measles is not a “killer” disease ~
• As that Info Wars’ video states: between 2005 and 2014, 108 deaths were attributed to the MMR vaccine; 0 deaths were attributed to measles.
• The current global mortality rate for measles is 0.00328%.
So the vaccination pushers seem to have picked an odd disease to crusade against.

Barbara Loe Fisher of NVIC (National Vaccine Information Center) posted the following video about the Disneyland Measles outbreak – and subsequent media hysteria – on January 28th.
It’s well worth listening to a reasonable voice – without an agenda – presenting factual information about vaccinating. It’s mandatory listening if you’re a parent making critical decisions about your child’s health.

Instead of reporting the news on MMR fraud claims made by whistlelowers, what you will find in the mainstream media are TV doctors, reporters, and news anchors vilifying parents who refuse to accept the claims made by medical authorities regarding a vaccine associated with alleged massive fraud and conflict of interest.
Furthermore, as Fisher has explained elsewhere, “vaccines are the only pharmaceutical products that government mandates and completely indemnifies.”
Last week the New American reported on others, including medical doctor Sherri Tenpenny, who are asking questions about this whole issue of vaccine manufacturers’ immunity ~
Tenpenny recalls that she was drawn into the debate years ago when she realized that “tens of thousands have been injured and have died as a result of vaccinations.” Among associated health problems are autism, sudden infant death syndrome, allergies, juvenile diabetes, and childhood arthritis.
Yet Vaccines.gov claims, “Vaccines are some of the safest medical products available.” If this is the case, “why does our federal government protect vaccine manufacturers from product liability lawsuits?” MaryJo Perry, co-director of Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights, asks this question in USA Today. She notes that taxpayers have been funding the U.S. Health and Human Services Administration’s Vaccine Injury Compensation Program since 1989 to the tune of $3 billion paid to victims of these “safest” of medical products.
So not only are the feds being less than honest about immunization risks, they’re using our tax dollars to pay off those who are adversely affected by vaccinations – while holding the manufacturers harmless!
Simply put, the evidence and history show that the vaccine makers have been given total liability protection for injuries and deaths caused by government-mandated vaccines. Vaccine safety is not “settled science,” as we have been hearing repeatedly in the media. To the contrary, for purposes of the law, vaccines are considered sometimes unsafe, even deadly.

On NBC’s “Today” show last week, Barack Obama announced that the science about vaccines is indisputable, urging parents to get their children vaccinated ~
“We’ve looked at this again and again. There is every reason to get vaccinated, but there aren’t reasons to not,” he said.
😯 This from the guy who said ‘If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It.’
Um, yeah.
You know which vaccination I could get behind 100%? The one that automatically prevents all progressives from lying. In fact I’d volunteer to administer that one!

I am not advocating that vaccines be discontinued. I am advocating that doctors and patients become aware of the ingredients of these vaccines, what they can potentially do to affect an adverse outcome in an immunologically compromised child. Adverse reactions to MMR and other vaccines have been reported in numerous clinical trials and studies. I am advocating that medical practitioners and researchers, not journalists, address the real medical epidemics of autism, asthma, GI disease and autoimmune diseases facing our society and people around the world.
Stop hyping the safety of MMR vaccines which may actually be more dangerous than live measles and may be ineffective in preventing the illness which they are so anxious to report as a dangerous epidemic itself. Let’s stop believing that the mainstream media is telling us the truth when all they are doing is shutting down any intelligent and open discussion about vaccine safety and how to improve it.

The Saudis and the Muslim Brotherhood successfully sold the Western security establishment on the idea that the only way to defeat Islamic terrorism was by denying any Islamic links to its actions.

Victory through denial demands that we pretend that Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. It’s a wholly irrational position, but the alternative of a tiny minority of extremists is nearly as irrational.
If ISIS is extreme and Islam is moderate, what did ISIS do that Mohammed did not? […]
Our problem is not the Islamic radical, but the inherent radicalism of Islam. Islam is a radical religion. It radicalizes those who follow it. Every atrocity we associate with Islamic radicals is already in Islam. The Koran is not the solution to Islamic radicalism, it is the cause.

Johnny could read if we still taught phonics
A thought-provoking article by Bruce Deitrick Price at the American Thinker wonders Whatever Happened to Phonics? ~
For those who weren’t fortunate enough to learn to read with this method, a little introduction is appropriate. Introduced by Rudolf Flesch in the mid-50’s, phonics wasn’t so much a new way to teach reading as a revival of the original, natural, most effective way to do so. Instead of memorizing “whole words,” beginning readers learn to decode new written words by sounding each one of them out.
In his 1955 book “Why Johnny Can’t Read,” Flesch explained that ~
… if you make children memorize English words as graphic designs, you have changed English into a hieroglyphic language. You have thrown away 40 centuries of human history, making English much like Egyptian circa 2000 BC. You have turned a phonetic language, which most children can learn to read in first grade, into a symbol-language that most children can never learn to read. Nobody could possibly be that stupid, right? Wrong.
Here is how Flesch explained our predicament in the famous 1955 book:
We have decided to…learn to read English as if it were Chinese. One word after another after another after another. If we want to read materials with a vocabulary of 10,000 words, then we have to memorize 10,000 words; if we want to go to the 20,000 word range, we have to learn, one by one, 20,000 words; and so on. We have thrown 3500 years of civilization out the window and have gone back to the age of Hammurabi.”
Flesch believed that if he carefully made his case for phonics, the teaching establishment would understand the obvious and permanently adopt this effective method. He failed to account for the intractable, 20th century progressive ~
These professors of education, essentially a far-left cult, had forced sight-words into the schools circa 1935 and they were not going to let go. They would pretend, they would lie, they would wiggle like a snake to victory any way possible.
So what did they do? They ridiculed Rudolf Flesch (“Devil in the Flesch”) and went right on doing all the bad things they had previously been doing. They formed the International Reading Association (IRA) to consolidate their gains, and to quarantine Flesch. Further, they fashioned endless sophistries to justify their incorrect methods. They kept the field of reading mired in jargon and techno-talk.
And, Price is convinced, today’s educators are still sadly failing Johnny when it comes to reading ~
… teachers who haven’t read “Why Johnny Can’t Read” (or “Why Johnny STILL Can’t Read,” 1981) should acknowledge that they are clueless amateurs. Such a person should not be allowed in an elementary school. Why? Because you will not be able to recognize inferior methods and the damage they’re doing to children. All phonics experts confidently assert that 99% of children can learn to read in the first grade. If you are accepting a lower level of achievement, then you are part of the problem.
I can personally testify to the effectiveness of the phonics method. After three years in public school my son could barely muddle through a sentence. One year of homeschooling with phonics and he was reading at grade level. It works!
Which really makes you wonder about our public school system and what they’re really trying to accomplish when they ignore time-tested methods – like phonics. And embrace nonsense like Common Core.

“The lie about abortion” – Star Parker

Can you say, “Satan”?
Wow, headlines like that only come along once a year.
In this case there was another headline almost as good: “Planned Parenthood now has fewer abortion clinics than the year Roe was decided.”
So even though the cowardly RINOs in Congress caved on the late-term abortion ban, the pro-life movement is still making encouraging progress.
