“Socialism is a foreign threat to our democracy”

In April, Father Andrew Kemberling (St. Thomas More Church, Centennial, CO) was invited to lead the opening prayer at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention at the University of Denver.

As he explains, the moral challenges facing our country are not caused by political affiliation, but rather by attacks on religious freedom. Christians must stand together in support of our God-given rights.

(the) biblical understanding of marriage… is an issue between democracy and socialism.

As a Catholic, I earned a free pass to talk about socialism – because others who have stood with us have died at the hands of socialists for the past two centuries.

Whenever we have our religious liberties stopped, it is a hallmark of socialism – which is never compatible with Christianity.

Christianity recognizes personal choice and private property as inalienable rights given to us by God. Socialism, totalitarianism, communism, statism – whatever we want to call this latest incarnation of governmental assault on liberty – do not. These morally bankrupt philosophies are all, at their core, antithetical to Christianity. Their adherents simply don’t accept biblical truth.

Father Andrew concluded with these words ~

Join this fight against the threat of religious liberty. If we do not stand up and be counted at this time we know the price that has to be paid.

Let freedom ring!

AMEN!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We live in a Democracy, or republic, in this country
which was born out of the Judeo-Christian base.
The freedom that gives is increasingly rare in the world today.
We must certainly use this freedom while we still have it.
~ Francis Schaeffer ~
