Supreme swerve to the right?

Ramirez-SCOTUSrightturn

With President Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as a replacement for retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, many conservatives are optimistic that the Court will take a more traditional, constitutional approach to the law – as opposed to the activism we’ve been subjected to in the last several years (Think, the unconstitutional ObamaCare – and same-sex “marriage”). The radical Left, of course, is apoplectic.

Some on the Right are saying he’s not conservative enough (personally, every time I hear Jesuit-educated I get nervous). And we’ll have to wait and see what a Justice Kavanaugh will look like once he starts writing opinions. But he’ll no doubt be far more Right than anyone Hillary would have nominated. And that’s a huge relief!

The unhinged reaction and immediate, vociferous opposition to Kavanaugh demonstrate that even the mildest of Trump’s Supreme Court nominees, anyone with even a modicum of a claim to being a constitutionalist, would have been treated this way.

Liberals Are Furious Over the Nomination of [Insert Name Here] to Supreme Court

A crowd of protesters waited at the Supreme Court building Monday night, Resistance Markers in hand, ready to scrawl on their posters the name of Donald Trump’s nominee who would bring about the End Times.

“They had all these Mad Lib signs,” Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse said afterward on Fox News, smiling.

He was right to be amused. It’s difficult to take someone’s outrage seriously when a judge with 12 years on the Circuit Court is tried and convicted of destroying women’s rights and health care in the time it takes to write BRETT KAVANAUGH in Magic Marker.
