Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Summer Causes Climate Change Hysteria ~ If you’ve watched the Weather Channel recently you’d think we’d never had summer in the U.S. before ~

(J)udging from the memo released on June 22 by Public Citizen (a $17 million per year liberal/progressive consumer rights advocacy group originally formed by Ralph Nader in 1971 and heavily funded by Leftwing billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations), every heat wave must now be viewed as a reminder of human-caused climate change.

Of course the actual statistics don’t match the hyperbole – but let’s not let facts get in the way of creating a new world order.

U.K. Pub to Become the ‘Trump Arms’ in Honor of President’s Visit ~ No the entire UK is not protesting Trump’s visit next week (just childish Londoners and their feckless Muslim mayor) ~

Jameson pub in the Hammersmith area of London will be hosting a welcome party in honor of the president and will temporarily rename itself “The Trump Arms.” They’ve got a temporary sign for the renaming that “will be hoisted onto the roof in time for Trump’s arrival and will remain there until he leaves.”

Rap Sheet: ***133*** Acts of Media-Approved Violence and Harassment Against Trump Supporters ~ Remember when leftists used to whine about the lack of civility in politics? Seems these days they’re aggressively promoting it ~

It is open season on Trump supporters, and the media is only fomenting, encouraging, excusing, and hoping for more… The media are now openly calling Trump supporters “Nazis” and are blaming Trump for a mass murder he had nothing to do with. This, of course, is a form of harassment because it incites and justifies mob violence.

Tom Steyer: Maybe We Can Have a ‘Nuclear War’ to Provide a ‘Real Course Correction’ to Trump ~ Knowing what a radical environmentalist this billionaire is, he’s probably not kidding ~

“I remember 2006,” Steyer said. “What happened is that George W. Bush, he put us in two disastrous wars and we were headed toward the biggest financial disaster since the Great Depression. So if the answer is that we need those three things to happen for a course correction, I’d prefer to move a little quicker. How about that? But I take your point. Maybe we can have, like, a nuclear war and then we get a real course correction.”

If Straws Are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Have Straws ~

Seattle on Sunday became the first major U.S. city to ban drinking straws, an environmentally friendly move that leaders hope will spark a nationwide conversation about small, everyday changes that people can make to protect the planet…[…]

If you’re caught using one of the newly verboten drinking implements by Seattle’s Straw Gestapo, and you don’t have a note from your doctor, you will be fined $250. Hey, it’s a small price to pay for protecting the planet, right?

Meanwhile, the poor Venezuelans are worried about more important things – like not dying! Venezuela: Further Protests as Country Begins Running Out of Water ~ Not sure how much worse things can get for these poor people ~

The lack of clean water is the latest in a string mass shortages experienced in Venezuela under the rule of socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro. Access to basic resources from food to medicine is now extremely limited, mainly as a result of hyperinflation that has rendered its Bolivar country as practically worthless. Based on real worth exchange rates, the country’s minimum wage is roughly equivalent to one dollar ($1) a month.

The myth of Obama’s ‘disappearance’ ~ BHO hasn’t left the building by a long shot ~

From his sprawling DC office not far from the White House, where he oversees a full-time staff of 20, Obama has held regular meetings with Democratic lawmakers, as well as DNC chief Tom Perez, whom he personally helped install to run the Democratic Party. Obama has also met with his attorney general, Eric Holder, to craft a strategy to redraw congressional district maps in Democrats’ favor, according to Politico.

Then there’s the leftist, non-profit foundation he founded, Organizing for Action, which is essentially the organizing and training hub of the anti-Trump resistance. He’s gone from the commander-in-chief of the armed forces to the agitator-in-chief for the the Resistance.

‘The New Politics Of Sex’ Explains How Sexual Libertinism Grows Government ~ Paul Rowan Brian reviews a new book from Stephen Baskerville which correctly claims the sexual revolution has had a massively corrosive effect on western society ~

The book posits a number of links between the growth of Orwellian state power and redefinitions of the family, marriage, and sex.

Baskerville pins the blame for society’s woes on sexual radicals who are agitating directly and indirectly for the destruction of the family, and men in particular […]

“The welfare state, which already funds family breakup and then justifies itself as providing for those same broken families, drives the process of family dissolution in yet another way, by demanding that mothers leave the home for the workplace in order to pay the taxes that finance the machinery.”

And in related news ~ Smartphones have given your teen daughter a secret life – and it’s destroying her ~ Tragic ~

Parents often do not understand the massive pressures teenagers are under to engage in this sort of behavior (sexting), using a device that gives them access to a world that simply did not exist when their parents were young—and a world where horrible things can happen […]

I’ve heard parents say that it is simply too hard to tell their child no when they ask for the smartphone that all of their friends have, even though they do not have their driver’s license and have no genuine need for any kind of phone at all. But stop to consider the cost. Think of what exposure to hardcore pornography does to a child’s developing brain, to a child’s view of sexuality, of men and women, of love itself. Think of how thoroughly this poison can seep into their lives. I can’t count the number of young couples who have contacted me to talk about how porn has ravaged their relationships—and in many cases, it was a smartphone that first let porn in. Saying no might be a hard thing to do. But for children, it is the right thing to do.

America ups the ante over Pastor Brunson’s detention ~ Keeping the pressure on Turkey ~

Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen met President Erdoğan in Ankara last Friday (29 June) after visiting Pastor Brunson in prison in the Aliağa district of the western city of Izmir earlier that day […]

American Charge d’Affaires in Ankara (Philip Kosnett) has said that Turkey’s continued detention of pastor Andrew Brunson on spying and terrorism-related charges is impeding US-Turkish relations.

Indoctrination in American Colleges into Atheism ~ Universities are a far cry from settings that encourage a free exchange of ideas as they once may have been. This article at Creation-Evolution-Headlines provides examples of Darwin’s thought police on many of today’s college campuses. (Here’s another that focuses on a rabid evolutionist at Ohio State.)

Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam: ‘I’m a Black Lesbian’ ~ Political correctness has reached such absurd levels, mockery is the only rational response ~

Gilliam was responding to remarks by the BBC’s Head of Comedy that Monty Python were insufficiently “diverse” to “reflect the modern world” […]

“It made me cry: the idea that … no longer six white Oxbridge men can make a comedy show. Now we need one of this, one of that, everybody represented… this is bulls**t. I no longer want to be a white male, I don’t want to be blamed for everything wrong in the world: I tell the world now I’m a black lesbian… My name is Loretta and I’m a BLT, a black lesbian in transition.”
