To any honest observer, it’s pretty obvious that the mainstream media’s main mission these days is to discredit Donald Trump at every opportunity – with the ultimate goal of getting him tossed out of office. They’ll devote days to any story they believe will reflect badly on the president (“Russia!” “Stormy Daniels!”), yet rarely mention any good news (improving economy, lowest unemployment in years, ISIS on the run, the thaw in North Korean relations, etc.), unless they can spin it in such a way (incredulously!) as to give Obama the credit. Every lede or headline is deliberately worded to make Trump look bad.
 
 
In the network news’ exuberance to smear the Trump administration, they rush to report the slightest negative rumor as a breaking revelation, rarely bothering to verify sources or confirm the facts. Last Friday, the Daily Caller published the Definitive List Of Media Screw-Ups On The Trump-Russia Story. With evidence like this is it any wonder the president frequently accuses them of peddling fake news ~

Unfortunately for the press, the obsession to prove collusion has dampened their journalistic abilities, leading to a seemingly endless list of corrections, retraction, and apologies.
 
We’ve compiled a list of some of the worst media screwups when it comes to Russia:
 

1. CNN Accuses Don Jr. Of Wikileaks Collusion –
Got their dates mixed up – oops.
 
2. ABC Tanks Stock Market With Fake Flynn News –
ABC’s Brian Ross was actually suspended over this debacle
 
3. The Mooch Is NOT Under Investigation –
Three CNN employees resigned over their unverified report about Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci
 
4. Bloomberg’s Dirty Deutsche Bank Scoop –
Forced to admit the Mueller wasn’t going after Trump’s Deutsche Bank records, as they had erroneously reported
 
5. Sessions Exonerated –
CNN tried to accuse Jeff Sessions of collusion by mixing up dates
 
6. Russians Aren’t Just Hacking The Election — They’re Hacking Our Power Grid –
Never mind, only one laptop – that was never even connected to the power grid – was infiltrated
 
7. Republicans Funded The Dossier! –
Nice try, except Steele wasn’t even contracted by Fusion GPS until after the GOP donors pulled funding
 
8. CNN’s Gets Comey Prediction Wildly Wrong –
Turns out Comey actually did tell Trump that he wasn’t under investigation
 
9. The ’17 Intel Agencies’ Lie –
Oh, make that four intelligence agencies
 
10. Manafort Notes Are A Nothing Burger
NBC’s big “scoop” turned out to be unfounded

That’s ten big phony news stories the mainstreams have basically fabricated in the past several months. And even though they’ve been forced to back-pedal, the damage is already done. The average CNN viewer believes the original version, never hears the retraction, and incorporates the fake news into their already skewed worldview. Objective achieved.
 
So even though they have to correct, retract and sometimes even apologize, the prevarication will go on. For far too many in the progressive mainstream media, the value of advancing their agenda (to take Trump down) with falsehoods – whether deliberate or inadvertent – simply outweighs the TRUTH.
