Have you seen those irritating commercials for the HPV vaccine featuring a couple annoying teenagers confronting their parents with “Mom, Dad, did you know?” As in, did you know you were supposed to get me vaccinated against sexually-transmitted diseases when I was like twelve years-old? I always have to snap back at the TV “Son, daughter, did you know that that screwing around before you’re married is detrimental to your physical and emotional health?”

 
No they don’t. Because someone forgot to tell these youngsters that avoiding premarital sex entirely is the only effective way to prevent STDs. (Not to mention pregnancy.) And that participating in today’s hook-up culture sets up a young person for a lifetime of troubled relationships.
 
Of course that old-fashioned sexual morality was tossed out way back in the 60’s. But maybe it’s time we started to look around at all the negative social and medical consequences of the infamous sexual revolution.
 
 
For starters – just the fact that we need a vaccination, to prevent cancer that may develop from the human papillomavirus, which is spread via sexual intercourse – should tell us that we might want to rethink our lax behaviors. If you never smoke, your chances of getting lung cancer are greatly reduced. Similarly, if you don’t sleep around, you’ll significantly reduce your chance of developing cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, vulvar anal, penile, and mouth/throat cancers.
 
Not only that, you’ll avoid potential life-threatening side-effects from the HPV vaccine itself ~ HPV Vaccine Gardasil Kills: Confirmed By Court Ruling ~

The risks associated with Gardasil have been virtually ignored by the mainstream media – even though three years ago a Toronto Star investigation found that Gardasil was linked to deaths and disabilities after young girls were vaccinated ~

A second problem: “It gives people a false sense of security,” encouraging teenage girls to take sexual risks, when “it only works against four out of 100 different forms of HPV.”

 
Even if Gardasil were 100% safe and effective, there are many other forms of HPV and STDs out there. Furthermore, the viruses mutate endlessly. For example ~ Gonorrhea No Longer Treatable

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that infects an estimated 820,000 people in the U.S. annually, mostly those between the ages of 15 and 24.1 Worldwide, 78 million people are infected with gonorrhea every year.2 Caused by the Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacterium, gonorrhea is spread by through sexual contact, as well as from mother to baby during childbirth. This bacterial infection has long been easily treated with antibiotics, but gonorrhea is increasingly becoming resistant to available drug treatments.

Did you know… according to the CDC – in 2016 Americans were infected with more than 2 million new cases of gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia, the highest number of these sexually transmitted diseases ever reported ~

Only those three STDs and HIV are required by law to be reported to the CDC by physicians.
 
When you include herpes and more of the dozens of diseases which can be transmitted sexually but which are not tracked, the CDC estimates there are more than 20 million new cases of STDs in the United States each year. At least half occur in young people ages 15 to 24.
 
“STDs are out of control with enormous health implications for Americans,” said David Harvey, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors.
