Greece – broke, barren and besieged

Western civilization was birthed in Greece. Our laws, literature, religion, philosophy, arts and architecture are all rooted in Greek culture. In the ancient world, where tyrants ruled with iron fists, Greece stood out as a shining beacon – the first-ever democracy. When establishing our republic, America’s founders were greatly influenced by the Greeks’ model.

Today the country is a shambles. It’s out of money, out of offspring, and out of room (and patience!) for foreign refugees.

The most pressing current problem is the ongoing Muslim invasion. Because they’re a member of the authoritarian European Union, Greece is obliged to take in more Middle East refugees than they’re realistically able to accommodate. They’re being overrun by a people who are not interested in assimilating ore even coexisting.

A recent story is just the latest episode ~ Muslim refugees on island of Lesbos terrifying and driving out Christians.

Greece-LesvosLesbos (or Lesvos), picturesque, tranquil and a favored tourist destination, is one of several Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. Unfortunately for its native inhabitants, it’s a little too close to Turkey. Not only has Lesbos been invaded by Syrian refugees, now many have fled to the island from Turkey as well. On a 630 square mile piece of land, a population of around 86,000 has been flooded with more than 6,000 migrants. Things are not going well; Muslims just can’t seem to play well with others ~

Several clashes have broken out in recent days at Lesbos Island’s Moria Camp for refugees, with Greek authorities arresting 35 Muslim rioters who threw large rocks at police officers and set fire to tents both inside and outside the bounds of the camp. A disabled Christian was nearly burnt alive while sleeping in one of the shelters, reports Pakistan Christian Post […]

“Christians are being prevented from holding church services, worshiping and praying by their Muslim neighbors. Moreover, reports of tents being burned down, violence, bullying, harassment and severe threats paint a very bleak picture of the quality of life for Christians caught up within the camp,” reads a plea from the British Pakistani Christian Association to the Greek ambassador to the United Kingdom […]

Some Greek hierarchs have spoken out against the influx of refugees and the damage it is causing to Greece and Greek culture. In March 2016, Metropolitan Ambrose of Kalavryta stated “No! We cannot shelter so many Islamists who are forcibly being sent to our country in order to seize it and change its identity! We sympathize with the refugees and accommodate them, feed and clothe them, protect them and so on. But we cannot allow them to stay in Greece forever!”

But the elites in the EU don’t care, nor do most Greek politicians. As Maria Polizoidou reported in this Gatestone Institute article last March ~

The Greeks, for the last seven years, have been requesting: strict measures against illegal immigration; mass deportations of illegal immigrants; parliamentary independence from supranational organizations; accountability from their leaders; transparency in political life; security and economic liberalization from their lenders; combating corruption and protecting the country’s national identity.

Greece’s financial situation is precarious and their aging population is shrinking. According to Polizoidou, the situation is nearing meltdown ~

The Greek people have just about reached the limits of their strength. The economic situation is tragic. Illegal immigration is out of control, criminality increases day by day. The political system is steeped in corruption and the media have stopped being the communication channel between citizens and the political system. The Greek media are functioning as the praetorian guard of the euro; they favor the massive admission of Muslim populations into Greece and they fiercely attack every voice that opposes their own.

The country is rotting inside the EU and the eurozone. The Greek people have crashed economically. Greek cities, because of massive illegal immigration, look less like cities in Europe and more like cities in Afghanistan. Banks have begun the mass-confiscation of residences. The people are on the verge of revolt.

Considering the trajectory Greece is on at present, Polizoidou sees a few possible outcomes – none of them pleasant. All involve civil unrest and internal revolt of some type ~

Poverty, criminality, corruption, illegal immigration and the delegitimization of the political system are the dots which, if one connects them, point to Article 48 of the Greek constitution. This article, which determines when the government can suspend the constitutional rights of citizens, can be activated when the state is under siege from internal or domestic enemies.

With more taxes in the offing, with more pension and salary cuts, and with Turkey sending more immigrants to Greece, there is no way for Greece to be governed without the government declaring martial law to enforce its policies on the population.

What’s happening to the Greeks is a harbinger of what’s coming to all Western countries. The rest of Europe is nearly is the same predicament already. And we’re not far behind (Birthrates are down, we’re almost 20 trillion in debt, we’re being overrun by immigrants as well, and our ruling class is ignoring it all).

Greece’s pending implosion is a loud and clear warning that Western civilization is approaching collapse. Is anyone listening?

A century in the making, Athens set for first mosque since Ottoman times ~

In May, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras declared building a mosque long overdue. The government, he said, would push ahead “out of respect for the Muslim residents in our capital, but also because we are obliged to actively defend our values.”
