Erasing the truth

We all know that the mainstream media slants seriously left, peppering most stories with opinions that they present as facts. It’s also pretty obvious that most of the “news” they manage to feed us has been run through numerous progressive filters before it finally makes it onto our screens. We usually get only half the story from the network news, some events (thousands of peaceful tea party rallies for example) are ignored altogether.

Still, they’re not often caught red-handed in a deliberate deception. So last week’s case of the blurred t-shirt, permanently captured on screen for all to see, was particularly entertaining.

As Michael Brown recounts on The Stream ~

On August 31, CNN’s Headline News (HLN) broadcast a report about Steven Eckel, a 53-year-old man who came to the rescue of a four-month-old girl whom he spotted left in a hot car in New Jersey. He smashed the window with a sledgehammer, probably saving the little girl’s life.

You can imagine the producers’ thought process; What a great human interest story. The guy’s obviously a hero. Let’s interview him, find out exactly what happened. Just one small catch – the guy’s a Trump supporter – gasp!

Now somehow that minor detail was missed the first time the story ran (some poor intern probably got axed over that one). Never fear, later that same day they “fixed” Mr. Eckel’s shirt – by blurring Trump’s name ~

Really people?! Such an amateur job too – they barely tried to hide the cover-up! And does anyone think if it was “Hillary 2016” shirt they’d have barely noticed? Or maybe #BlackLivesMatter?

This is what happens when you’re a leftist in the mainstream media (oops that’s redundant!) and live in a progressive echo chamber. When facts interfere with your distorted worldview, those facts must be distorted accordingly.

Somehow CNN must believe that the average Trump supporter is an uncaring thug who wouldn’t have the decency, or the quick-thinking selflessness, required to save the life of a small child. And that’s the narrative they’re going with, facts be damned.

D. Brown suggests a new name for the Cable News Network ~

For years now, CNN has been dubbed the Clinton News Network (a moniker disturbingly close to the truth) and even the Communist News Network (hyperbole, yes). But last week, CNN emerged as the Censoring News Network.

I’m no attorney, but if attempting to alter reality by deliberately misrepresenting an individual’s worldview isn’t a crime, it certainly should be.
