Michelle’s misguided crusade

ObamaTangosWho knows? Maybe she was in a tizz over Barack’s tango with a Playboy model

(Actually, I don’t know if her speech was before or after the dance exhibition, but oh, the irony -) In Argentina this week, Michelle Obama was whining about being whistled at in her younger days. Seriously ~

(Lamenting) the oppressive sexism she’s faced in the United States (and so her limp-wristed husband could dance the Tango), because men found her attractive […]

Mrs. Obama went full-on down-with-The-Patriarchy as she complained that men would comment, or even “whistle” at her due to her appealing looks. The First Lady dramatically spiraled: “[A]s if my body were their property, as if I were an object to be commented on instead of a full human being with thoughts and feelings of my own.”

Yes folks, it was a tough existence for young Michelle ~

“As a girl my voice was somehow less important, that how my body looked was more important than how my mind worked; that being strong and powerful, and outspoken just wasn’t appropriate or attractive for a girl. And soon enough, I started to question myself: Was I too loud? Too much? Was I too bossy? Was I dreaming too big? And for years I would lie awake at night and those doubts would eat away at my heart…

(Ha! She clearly didn’t listen to those questions for long did she? Loud? Bossy?)

Wah-wah-wah.

In the meantime, in a much-less coddled corner of the world, where real sexism is a harsh, daily reality for most women… Horrific pictures show young Indonesian woman sobbing as she is caned in public for having adultery ~

Young woman faced a public caning punishment for breaking strict Sharia law in Banda Aceh province in Indonesia […]

A public caning is just one of the punishments handed out to people breaking Sharia law in Banda Aceh, the only province in Indonesia, where it is still followed closely.

[Note – Relieved that the pictures were less lurid than I expected. Probably the Daily Mail felt they should be published because they want their readers to see the true face of Sharia law. Mission accomplished.)

I don’t believe Mrs. Obama was available for comment on this barbaric example of Islam’s contemptuous treatment of women. Instead, sniveling about “sexism,” Michelle is still living in the 60’s. Tragically, that poor Indonesian woman is stuck in the 7th century.
