Sometime around the turn of the century most regular Americans had caught on to the corrosive effects of Leftism. Society, culture and the economy have all been adversely impacted by their secular, collective, statist policies. People were wising up, and Lefties, refusing to abandon their failed philosophy of equal misery for all, sought to refurbish their tarnished image. Re-branding, they became “Progressives.”
 
Yes. “Progressive” sounds so much more upbeat, positive. Trouble is, the Left is still pretty much the antithesis of that word. You might say they’re regressive.

 
Real “progress” is actually what western culture has been engaging in for the last few centuries. Real progress is innovation, imagination and invention, empowered by free market capitalism, improving the living standards of an entire society.

So call them “liberals,” “leftists,” “progressives” – whatever you will – their worldview is entirely REgressive.
