Standing up for the persecuted

The world is a dangerous place to live, not because
of the people who are evil, but because of
the people who don’t do anything about it.

statue-liberty-weepingIn these waning days of our republic, the federal government has clearly abandoned America’s long-held role as a shining city on a hill. We are no longer a defender of freedom, of justice for all; no longer a refuge for the persecuted.

Thankfully, there are still a few organizations willing to step in and help fill the void created by our feckless leaders, among them, the ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice). Their mission is to protect our religious and constitutional freedoms through legal and legislative means, as well as through advocacy and education. Headquartered in D.C., they maintain a global presence as well ~

In addition to its religious liberties work, the ACLJ also focuses on constitutional law involving the issues of national security, human life, marriage, judicial nominations, pornography, and protecting patriotic expression such as our National Motto and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Recently the non-profit group has focused on producing several quality documentaries in support of various causes including this, their latest: “Let My People Go” ~

As the world watches in horror, Islamic extremists are threatening to eradicate every shred of Christianity from the Middle East. This film tells the powerful stories of the persecuted and those fighting for their freedom. (Listening to the Vicor of Baghdad Andrew White talk about Iraq is particularly heart wrenching) ~

This documentary goes behind the scenes to tell the compelling stories of a number of Christians who have been targeted because of their faith.

ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow and others provide a detailed look at what’s behind this persecution – the rise of ISIS – the Islamic State. The goal of these radical jihadists: to wipe out Christianity. In a dangerous world where there’s growing chaos and conflict, there is still hope. We take a look at what can be done. And we shine a spotlight on the defenders of the faith – the men and women who are putting their own lives at risk to stand-up for the persecuted church.

You can watch the entire film HERE.

Sadly, America is no longer the beacon of liberty we once were. But individually we can still help keep the flame flickering by contributing to those who are still valiantly holding the torch aloft.

Please support the ACLJ if you can.
