Common Core-rosion

“Give me four years to teach the children
and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”

Whether you currently have children (or grandchildren) in public school or not, if you’re concerned about America’s future, “Common Core” is something you need to learn more about ~

UPDATE: Feb. 12, 2016 ~
Just realized that the video I’d originally included in this post was pulled by YouTube sometime in the last 2+ years ~

So here’s another more recent video. Like the original, this one is also from David Barton. You can skip to the 12:00 minute mark if you’d like, where he gets into the specific objections to Common Core. (And it’s only about 23 min. total – the rest is an advert for The Conservative Forum, Silicon Valley) ~

Interesting aside: Google (and no doubt the less-frequently used search engines) love Common Core because of the data-mining feature – they buy the information. This no doubt accounts for “common core” searches delivering nothing but favorable links for the first several pages of results.

This current federally-directed “education” plan really isn’t so much about “educating” – at least in the way that word used to be understood – as is about “programming.” Instead of teaching children how to think, and (hopefully) instilling a love of learning, they’re telling them what to think, conditioning them to submissively accept future propaganda.

In the video David Barton discusses several of Common Core’s “corrosive” effects:

• Purports to be academically rigorous; results-to-date suggest an unhealthy academic flabbiness.

• Facts are much less important – even in math, right answers aren’t necessarily optimal – than processes.

• Even scarier is the “data mining;” the collecting of personal, private information, for the purposes of future manipulation. Data, as Barton says, that can be used in sophisticated ways to advance progressive causes.

Note how enthusiastically David Coleman describes the aggressive application of data-driven propaganda ~

“…to galvanize a generation of low income people to vote like they never have before”

In other words, brainwashing, programming low-information voters, taking “community-organizing” to a whole new devious level.

True to form, now that parents and others have been objecting to Common Core methods, the progress-for-the-sake-of-progress folks are changing the name of the program to “Next Generation Science Standards.” As we-the-still-vigilant-people wise up to their nefarious methods, the Left doesn’t change tactics, they just change names.

But it doesn’t matter what term they choose. The ultimate aim is to dumb kids down to the lowest “Common” denominator. Common Core wants to breed a nation of sheep.
