Islamic “Newspeak”

“Newspeak” was the language of the authoritarian state in George Orwell’s futuristic novel “1984.” As a means of thought-control, the Party dictated the meaning and usage of individual words.

It appears that a Muslim version of “Newspeak” has now been formally instituted in the Southeast Asian country of Malaysia. From the Gateway Pundit ~

In Malaysia, a predominantly Muslim country, Christians are forbidden from using the word “Allah”. A Malaysian Catholic newspaper challenged the government ban, but was rejected unanimously by the Court of Appeal. In the Malay language “Allah” means God. So, after centuries of its use, Christians in Malaysia are, in effect, now forbidden from saying God. Only Muslims have that exclusive right.

What makes this ruling particularly surreal is that, according to the Malay Mail ~

(T)he word ‘Allah’ pre-dates Islam. It is not a creation of the Muslims and its existence does not begin in the Al-Quran.

So Muslims basically hijacked “Allah” – and now they “own’ it?!
Yes. But don’t say anything. You risk being accused of a thoughtcrime.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact there
will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not
thinking—not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness.”
~ George Orwell describing the ultimate goal of “Newspeak.”
