Saturday Shorts – 11-17-12

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

Sheriff Joe to Obama: Let’s Meet ‘Man to Man’ to Discuss Immigration ~ Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio (just reelected to his 6th term) would like to have a serious chat with President Obama about amnesty and border security. Good luck with that Joe!

Unfortunately, Obama would be more likely to show up for this subversive event than a meeting with Sheriff Joe: Teachers Flock to Northwestern University for ‘Marxist Conference’ ~

The all-day event, which collected money to support Chicago Socialists and featured a communist bookstore, provided students on-campus along with the radical left community to plan the next phase in their activism.

US atheists target kids and teens ~ Because it’s important that children believe in nothing – but the government.
The ironically-named Humanist Association is running ads on 140 Metro buses in Washington DC aimed at youth. Hoping to create good little Marxists who will one day grow up and join the campus revolutionaries.

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” ~ Matthew 18:6

Are We an Entitlement Society? ~ An excellent article written by Steve Sanchez several months ago.

You see the only thing that we are entitled to is God’s sovereign power and grace to our lives when we surrender fully to him and accept Jesus as our savior. When we do this than we are entitled to what the Kingdom has to offer. Believe me, the Kingdom’s benefits far out weight those promised to you by man.

Unfortunately, I think we got America’s answer to Steve’s question last week.
Maybe this explains it ~ Dumb and Dumber: Study Says Humans Are Slowly Losing Their Smarts. DEvolution.

Union Boss Trumka: Fiscal Cliff a ‘Manufactured Crisis’ that doesn’t really exist ~ Proving once again that organized labor occupies an alternative universe.

New York Times new President/CEO says Christianity is based on objective truth ~ Whoa! Dare we hope that his worldview might have an impact on the Old Gray Lady?
