Deceitful MSM defeats another candidate

Dan Bongino, former candidate for U.S. House rep (FL 19th), recently discovered first-hand the ugly truth that we’ve long-suspected about the mainstream media; they inhabit a reality-free bubble, think everyone not in lockstep with their progressive claptrap is crazy, and wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them in the butt.

danbonginoBongino was an excellent candidate. An NYPD officer for four years, he spent 12 years with the Secret Service, was twice a NY Times best-selling author and now hosts a popular political podcast. Just the sort of common sense, conservative, patriotic American the Left wants to keep out of political office at all costs.

Here’s what Dan says learned about the media while running for office ~

The story they aim to tell is one where good-hearted liberals institute a series of public policy proposals designed to create a fairer and equitable society to protect us from rapacious capitalists and conservatives. This is the story told to them in journalism schools and repeated within the corridors of their media work environments. It is widely considered de facto knowledge in their media inner circles, and anyone questioning this narrative is derided as an intellectual lightweight or an ideological heretic worthy of scorn.

I can recall numerous conversations with prominent, established media figures where strict gun control, abortion, and tax-and-spend government policies were assumed to be the default “correct” position. Anyone believing otherwise was simply an intellectual cretin.

Resistance to facts and debate was so vigorous that when I offered evidence otherwise indicating that supporters of the opposite positions have evidence to back their claims, it was either completely ignored or condescendingly laughed at.

[Read the rest at Conservative Review…]

It just so frustrating for those of us who – naively I suppose – still think honesty and integrity are admirable virtues. The country deserves better from the Fourth Estate. They’re supposed to act as watchdogs on the politicians. Instead, they’re lapdogs.

If we ever hope to remotely restore our Constitutional Republic, somehow we have to find a way to neutralize the leftist media and make sure Americans are hearing the truth, the whole truth – and not a bunch of distortions, slanders and flat out lies.

ground-zero-cross-9-11

It’s become a cliché by now, but September 11, 2011 really was a wake-up call. The tragedy should have opened our eyes not just to the fact that a theological movement claiming to be a religion-of-peace wants us all submitted or dead, but to the reality that America – without God – is lost.

Although we were all shocked watching the horrific events of that day unfold, some of us never did wake up. Even worse though, far too many have fallen back asleep.

If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear them from heaven, and will forgive their sin
and heal their land.

Saturday Shorts – 9-10-16

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

The Burkini is a Visible Sign of This Declaration of War ~ (Translated from German and posted at GatesofVienna) In case it’s still not obvious ~

Next to the headscarf, the hijab, the niqab, the burka, next to beard and nightgown and crochet cap, the burkini is one more uniform of these religious warriors. The so-called disguises show a worried and increasingly baffled society the status of their Islamization, and to the Muslims they signal how far they can go without meeting any opposition.

Brexit Boom: Pound Up On Euro And Dollar Two Months After Vote ~ Wait – what? You mean all the doom and gloomers were wrong?

Taiwan’s imminent population decline ~ Another East Asian nation along with South Korea, Singapore and Japan, Taiwan that has had low birth rates for so long that it is facing population decline ~

This ageing, declining population will place large strains on the economy and society. At the moment there are 5.6 working aged people for every elderly person; by 2061 this number will have plummeted to 1.3. How the elderly are to be cared for, let alone paid for by that time is unclear unless things change.

Marriage makes men better: the economic benefits of settling down ~ Oddly enough, somehow God’s model for human relationships always works out better than humans’. W. Bradford Wilcox provides a comprehensive look at the positive effects of marriage on individuals and by extension, society overall ~

The bottom line is that marriage is an institution that encourages men to settle down by engendering a responsibility ethic, by fostering monogamy, and by connecting them to a partner with a stake in their personal well-being and their professional success.

Obama Kept His Promise, 83,000 Coal Jobs Lost and 400 Mines Shuttered ~ “Hope & Change” baby.

He’s decimated the military as well ~
Iran vessel ‘harasses,’ sails close to U.S. Navy ship in Gulf: U.S. officials ~ Any wonder so many retired military (and purged pro-America officers) support Trump?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A U.S. Navy coastal patrol ship changed course after a fast-attack craft from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps came within 100 yards (91 meters) of it in the central Gulf on Sunday, U.S. Defense Department officials said on Tuesday.

It was at least the fourth such incident in less than a month.

And then there’s the Obama-Effect in Cuba~
Cuban Government Censors Text Messages Containing ‘Democracy,’ ‘Human Rights’ ~ Obama’s normalization of relations has done wonders for freedom and democracy in Castroland.

Sociologist: Gardening Spreads Racism, Fascism ~ What is it with leftie malcontents? Endlessly searching for villains ~

A sociology lecturer at the University of Westminster is claiming that panelists on a BBC radio show are covertly spreading racist and fascist messages when they talk about gardening.

Jeh Johnson’s victim story distorts facts of history ~ Progressives don’t just rewrite our collective history, their personal pasts must be altered to fit the narrative as well ~

Johnson claimed his grandfather was grilled by the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1949 about whether he was a member of the Communist Party. But that is in stark contrast with reality.

Because Famous Liberal Women Are Special, You Peasants ~ Different strokes for elite folks. Kurt Schlichter explains that Hillary Clinton and Lena Dunham simply aren’t subject to mere mortal conventions.

Ted Cruz’s statement on North Korea is everything Obama’s isn’t ~ While the feckless Obama condemned the nuclear test “in the strongest possible terms,” Cruz was a bit more direct ~

North Korea should be on notice that the United States will not tolerate their destabilizing aggression–and other rogue regimes pursuing nuclear capability like Iran should be on notice that we will not allow this history to repeat itself.

Does “Love is love” include incest yet?

Advancing their radical agenda, for years now LGBTQ activists have been bombarding us with their nonsensical mantras ~

• Who are we to judge?
• Born that way
• Love is love

Silly phrases, deliberately calculated to distance us from traditional morality, to reduce our capacity for rational thought and ultimately cast us adrift in a sea of moral relativity.

The strategy is working so well that one day soon everyone will come to believe an abomination like this is perfectly fine ~

Mother and daughter arrested on complaints of incest after getting married ~

DUNCAN, Okla. (KOKH) — An Oklahoma woman and her daughter have been arrested after police say they married each other.
Comanche County records show 41-year-old Patricia Spann and 25-year-old Misty Spann filed for a marriage license in March 2016.

incest-happycouple
 The investigator tells KSWO that Misty and her brothers were raised by a grandparent after Patricia lost custody of them. Patricia allegedly told the investigator that she didn’t believe she was breaking the law because she wasn’t listed on Misty’s birth certificate.
Patricia also told DHS that the two hit it off after reuniting two years ago.
KSWO reports that Patricia also married one of her sons in 2008, that marriage ended in annulment in 2010.

Yes incest… the next brave new frontier in sexual perversity (It even has an official category: “GSA” – see below). Hey –who are we to judge? Love is love.

Updated: 9-20-16 ~ I was shuffling through the archives and ran across this earlier story, reported last month in the UK Daily Mail ~ EXCLUSIVE: ‘We ended up kissing and kissing led to other things’: Mother, 36, and son, 19, who fell in love when they met last year after she gave him up for adoption as a baby, say they’ll go to JAIL to defend their relationship ~

In an exclusive individual interviews with Daily Mail Online, they told how they are willing to risk everything to be together – and have decided to go public with their affair in a bid to raise awareness of Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) relationships.

GSA is defined as sexual attraction between close relatives, such as siblings or half-siblings, a parent and offspring, or first and second cousins, who first meet as adults. […]

Meanwhile, in another part of the world…

 Here’s a story I can practically guarantee you haven’t heard before (I only found it mentioned on one site – one of my favorites – MercatorNet) ~ Why has Japan’s massacre of disabled gone unnoticed? This was a tragedy made even more so by the fact that certain lives really don’t seem to matter as much as others ~

On July 26, 2016 a man wielding a knife broke into Tsukui Yamayuriena, a home for the disabled outside of Tokyo and brutally murdered 19 people as they slept, while injuring another 26. Afterwards, he turned himself in to a local police station, with the explanation:
“It is better that the disabled disappear.”

Disability advocates have expressed dismay that the massacre – Japan’s deadliest mass killing since World War II – has received so little attention relative to mass killings in Paris, Nice, Orlando, Kabul and Baghdad.

japan-knifeattack
 Apparently Satoshi Uematsu was a self-appointed grim reaper for these unfortunate souls ~

Broadcaster NTV (via Reuters) reported that the arrested man presented a letter to the speaker of the lower house of Japan’s parliament in February calling for euthanasia of disabled people.

It quoted the letter as saying: “My goal is a world in which, in cases where it is difficult for the severely disabled to live at home and be socially active, they can be euthanised with the consent of their guardians.”

The scant coverage of this brutal attack may be partially due to cultural beliefs ~

In Japan there is a deep stigma against those who are unable to work. Indeed, it is still common to institutionalize people with disabilities, intellectual or otherwise, that impede their productivity.

By warehousing people with disabilities, institutions send the message that they need to be segregated and managed. It becomes easy for their differences to be seen as a shameful and frightening secret that happens to other, less worthy people.

The article’s author, Rachael Adams, focuses on the history of institutionalizing those with mental disabilities and its continued practice ~

We forget they are individuals whose lives have meaning and value. Their senseless deaths are just as tragically newsworthy and deserving of memorialization as those of all other victims of mass violence.

The world still has a long way to go in acknowledging that we are all created in God’s image, and therefore each individual human life is worthy of being treated with respect and dignity. But in recognizing their humanity, we may truly find our own.

Erasing the truth

We all know that the mainstream media slants seriously left, peppering most stories with opinions that they present as facts. It’s also pretty obvious that most of the “news” they manage to feed us has been run through numerous progressive filters before it finally makes it onto our screens. We usually get only half the story from the network news, some events (thousands of peaceful tea party rallies for example) are ignored altogether.

Still, they’re not often caught red-handed in a deliberate deception. So last week’s case of the blurred t-shirt, permanently captured on screen for all to see, was particularly entertaining.

As Michael Brown recounts on The Stream ~

On August 31, CNN’s Headline News (HLN) broadcast a report about Steven Eckel, a 53-year-old man who came to the rescue of a four-month-old girl whom he spotted left in a hot car in New Jersey. He smashed the window with a sledgehammer, probably saving the little girl’s life.

You can imagine the producers’ thought process; What a great human interest story. The guy’s obviously a hero. Let’s interview him, find out exactly what happened. Just one small catch – the guy’s a Trump supporter – gasp!

Now somehow that minor detail was missed the first time the story ran (some poor intern probably got axed over that one). Never fear, later that same day they “fixed” Mr. Eckel’s shirt – by blurring Trump’s name ~

blurredtrumpshirt

Really people?! Such an amateur job too – they barely tried to hide the cover-up! And does anyone think if it was “Hillary 2016” shirt they’d have barely noticed? Or maybe #BlackLivesMatter?

This is what happens when you’re a leftist in the mainstream media (oops that’s redundant!) and live in a progressive echo chamber. When facts interfere with your distorted worldview, those facts must be distorted accordingly.

Somehow CNN must believe that the average Trump supporter is an uncaring thug who wouldn’t have the decency, or the quick-thinking selflessness, required to save the life of a small child. And that’s the narrative they’re going with, facts be damned.

D. Brown suggests a new name for the Cable News Network ~

For years now, CNN has been dubbed the Clinton News Network (a moniker disturbingly close to the truth) and even the Communist News Network (hyperbole, yes). But last week, CNN emerged as the Censoring News Network.

I’m no attorney, but if attempting to alter reality by deliberately misrepresenting an individual’s worldview isn’t a crime, it certainly should be.

Don’t fall for the “income inequality” ruse

It’s true, free market capitalism does create “income inequality,” but that result only seems “unfair” on the surface. Take a few minutes to understand why it’s in the best interest of everyone to have unequal incomes ~

Video via Prager University

Only if you don’t want the freedom to guide your own destiny does income equality sound like a good idea. How unfortunate that the Democrats continue to push it on the low-information crowd; it’s as if they want them to remain forever the low-achievement crowd. Dems are like really bad parents who don’t even want their children to leave home, let alone succeed at life. Sad 🙁

The Israelis gave it their best shot, and had the good sense to reject it.

Not to spoil your barbecue but…

redflagoverDCDon’t mean to rain on your Labor Day parade – we all do love a good party/picnic/barbecue – but Matt Barber has a timely reminder about the origins of the holiday we’re celebrating today; color it RED ~

The history stretches back at least to 1882 when a couple of socialists named Matthew Maguire and Peter McGuire, both members of the Socialist Labor Party, proposed an official workers’ holiday in New York to be called Labor Day. While historians differ over which man was principally responsible, the socialist pair had success, and on Sept. 5 of that year the United States saw its first official socialist Labor Day celebrated in New York City.

LaborDayReds

The malcontents never quit do they? Endlessly demanding.

Whereas the rest of the socialist world celebrates Labor Day on May 1 (May Day), America has always marched to the beat of a different drummer. And so we — a nation made both the greatest and wealthiest in all of history through free-market principles, heretofore reasonably regulated, but, alas, regulated almost to death under our current administration — give our little nod to socialism on the last day of summer (appropriate, I think, as wherever there is socialism, the fall is not far behind).

But don’t let the fact that socialists founded the holiday spoil your summer’s end get-together. Take the opportunity to educate your friends and family about the joys of living in a socialist paradise. Here are some helpful links [Tip: don’t google “socialism” – try as it might the leftist search engine can’t seem to find any negative information about the equal-misery-for-all government model] ~

Capitalism vs. Socialism in One Chart: South Korea vs. Venezuela Edition
Alexander Solzhenitsyn on socialism
Bernie Sanders Has No Idea, But Socialism Is Way Worse Than A Soda Tax
Socialism Attacks the Family, Just as Its Inventors Intended

You might also want to point out which worldview it is that truly dignifies and elevates human labor ~

It was the influence of Christianity, remember, that led the Christian West to gradually raise its view of common labor. As tough as the serfs of the middle ages had it, they were vastly better off, and with far more rights, than the slaves under pagan Rome.

Christianity elevated the status of common laborers partly by recognizing them as a fellow creatures made in the image of God, and by insisting that the Christian peasant was a brother in Christ.

Now that’s something to celebrate! Enjoy your day!

Homeland eyes special declaration to take charge of elections ~ Whether they did or didn’t steal the 2012 election, our leftist friends aren’t taking any chances this time around. Sure would be nice if Congress would actually perform the primary function for which they were established and reign in this runaway executive branch!
In our dreams.

Don’t judge Colin Kaepernick until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes ~ Steve Deace recaps Kaepernick’s tragic life of oppression (Sarcasm alert 😀 ) ~

Then finally, one August day, you are sitting there during a meaningless pre-season pro football game. When all of a sudden, the years and years of oppressive love, assistance, success, and riches catches up with you, and you are finally triggered into taking a leak on your country’s flag.

SeaSick-Saurus ~ Who you gonna believe, the evolutionists – or the fossil record?

Is Cultural Enrichment Coming to Japan? ~ “Cultural enrichment” is Gates of Vienna’s fitting sobriquet for Muslim colonization. For decades now, Japan has been successfully resisting the worldwide hijrah, but that may be changing ~

One of the proposed solutions for global fiscal anemia is that Japan should change its immigration policies and allow in significantly more migrants. It worked so well for Germany and Britain — why shouldn’t the Japanese jump on the bandwagon? The head of Japan’s central bank is apparently trying to persuade Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of the wisdom of importing youngsters en-masse from the Third World. Cultural enrichment plus financial enrichment — what could possibly go wrong? […]

And the banksters are generally able to make offers that political leaders can’t refuse. So keep an eye on Japan — if the Third World starts flowing into the Home Islands, you’ll know who really rules in Japan, just as they rule everywhere else.

Obama Administration Still Hasn’t Implemented Alert System to Protect Police, 15 Months After It Passed Congress ~ Named for the NYPD officers ambushed in Dec. 2014, Congress enacted – and Obama signed…

(The_ Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu National Blue Alert Act of 2015, a nationwide infrastructure of alert systems similar to the type employed in a variety of states throughout the country […]
(It) was meant to alert members of the law enforcement community to threats seen as particularly important for the safety of police officers nationwide […]
Now, more than a year after the Blue Alert Act was signed into law, it continues to languish in a sea of bureaucratic inaction, without implementation.

Any question that #BlueLives really don’t matter to the president?

(T)he Remain camp, in all its myriad guises, is not going away – they still believe they can prevent Britain’s departure from the European Union.

Brendan Eich, Fired From Mozilla for Defending Marriage, Has a Brave New Web Browser ~ Remember Eich, branded as an intolerant bigot and forced out as CEO of Mozilla for being pro-traditional marriage…

Thankfully for Brendan Eich, despite this serious professional and personal setback, he continued to ply his trade, now as the founder, president and CEO of Brave Software, and developer of the new Brave web browser, which blocks those ever-present internet ads and trackers and greatly enhances web browsing speed. And how appropriate that it is named Brave!

And it’s FREE.

The Olympic Sport-which-must-not-be-named

Quick – in which sport did the U.S. win its first gold medal in the 2016 summer games? If you don’t have a clue, don’t blame yourself. It’s the fault of mainstream media types, the vast majority of whom, gave the achievement little-to-no fanfare. The medal, you see, was awarded in a very non-PC sport: shooting ~ US shooting star wins first gold medal of Rio Olympics.

Were it any other event, Virginia Thrasher’s story would have been tailor-made for one of those segments offering a quick glimpse into the life of an individual athlete, which the producers like to toss in to pique your interest. Fox News at least gave her a mention ~

VirginiaThrasher

Virginia Thrasher went through a three-week spring whirlwind, winning three NCAA titles and a spot on the U.S. Olympic Shooting team.

The precocious 19-year-old closed out the summer with her biggest surprise yet.

Keeping her nerve on sport’s biggest stage, Thrasher on Saturday earned the first gold medal of the Rio Olympics, outlasting two-time gold medalist Du Li to capture the women’s 10-meter air rifle title.

“This is beyond my wildest dreams,” Thrasher said. “I knew it was a realistic expectation for me to get into the finals and once you get into the finals, anything can happen. For me, this year has been incredible.”

The United States had quite an impressive shooting team in Rio this year. None were arrested – or made worldwide headlines for bad behavior(!) – and overall they brought home three medals; 1 gold and 2 bronze.

But there’s just something about “guns” that the msm can’t quite bring themselves to cover in a positive light. Sponsors are afflicted with gun-phobia as well, as this article at PJMedia points out ~ ‘Little Known’ Olympic Shooters Snubbed by Sponsors While Media Play Dumb ~

It’s not that the competitive shooters have been demonized, it’s the media and their institutional left puppet masters that have demonized the gun as an object. The mere presence or possession of a gun in and of itself is unsavory and suspect. It’s as if the firearm causes its owner to become a bloodthirsty, murderous maniac instead of blaming a criminally minded, mentally deficient terrorist who is using an object for evil purposes […]

How can the media continue to turn the public against firearms if they feature admirable, dedicated individuals behaving perfectly normal in the possession of a gun?

Can’t have reality interfering with their nefarious plan to eventually repeal the Second Amendment can we?

So they won’t cover Thrasher, or bronze medalist Kim Rhode (skeet event), who made Olympic history last month tying a record for the most consecutive medals (6) ever won in back-to-back Olympic Games. Now 37, Rhode began her Olympic career at the 1996 Atlanta games when she was just 17.

Newsworthy? The Daily Signal thought so, and recently spoke with Kim: Olympic Champion Kim Rhode Talks Gun Control and Feminism, and Explains Why the Media Ignore Her. Rhode gets it 🙂

No Lurch – we’re not going to pretend it’s not happening!

lurch2So our Secretary of State figures it would be best if we just ignore the horrors of Islamic terrorism ~ Kerry Asks Media To See No Jihadi Evil ~

Referring to terrorism in remarks he made at the Edward M. Kennedy Center in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a country that has recently experienced its own encounter with Islamist terrorists, Kerry said, “Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on.”

Right Lurch. Wouldn’t want the peasants to get worked up over barbaric behavior like this would we? ➡ Parents Shown Video of Daughters Raped, Tortured – Given Body Parts in Bags ~

crossinhands

As the Islamic State continues its genocide against Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities in Syria and Iraq, human rights activist and lawyer Jacqueline Isaac testified at the United Nations about some of the atrocities […]

Although Isaac, vice president of the humanitarian group Roads of Success, testified on April 28, her remarks – at the United Nations in New York City — about the atrocities against women captured by ISIS were not covered by the national news networks in the United States, according to a search of the Nexis news database.

Completely ignored! Which is exactly what Obama and the rest of his jihadi apologists want – as John Kerry just admitted.
(Somewhere in hell Joseph Stalin is smiling. Welcome to AmeriKa!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last spring, the Obama administration veryreluctantly – after a great deal of pressure – formally recognized the undeniable fact that ISIS is actually committing genocide against Christians in the Middle East. How magnanimous of them. But it hasn’t made a damn bit of difference in the lives of those affected by the ongoing persecution.
Now, thankfully, one organization is taking legal action to force the administration to actually do something about the ongoing tragedy: ACLJ Takes the Obama State Department to Court to Find Out What They Are Doing to Stop the ISIS Genocide Against Christians ~
Media and on the ground reports provide heartbreaking and stomach-churning stories of ISIS’s depravity, and international leaders and organizations have begged the international community for meaningful, concrete action.
Even Secretary of State John Kerry, after recognizing the genocide, called for action. But we don’t see action. Instead, as we continually engage our government leaders, we are faced with this inescapable question:
Is the Obama Administration doing anything about ISIS’s genocide of Christians?
Short answer: No.
Jay Sekulow of ACLJ goes on ~
The status quo is unacceptable and it became clear that we must do more to hold our government accountable. So, as we reported in July, we carefully drafted a series of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests all aimed at uncovering government records that would show any action by President Obama’s State Department to respond to or stop the genocide […]
The statutory deadline for the Obama Administration’s response to our FOIA requests has passed. It has failed to comply with statutory obligations under federal law, sending us only a vague, nonresponsive letter filled with bureaucratic doublespeak.
The Obama Administration’s “response” to our requests simply confirms that stopping the ISIS genocide is low on its list of priorities – if it’s even on the list at all.
So we are taking the Administration to federal court.
Today (August 30th) we filed our lawsuit to force the Obama State Department to show what it has done to confront the ISIS genocide and protect the Christian victims, or confirm that it hasn’t really done anything at all.
The American people deserve answers. We must hold our leaders accountable. This is precisely what the FOIA process is for. Things will not change until enough Americans demand a change. We must take action.
Amen!
