Well it’s taken a couple years longer than originally predicted, but most financial experts don’t see any way out of total economic collapse for the Greeks ~
Greece has a 1.6 billion euro ($1.8 billion) debt due to the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday (June 30th) and its bailout program expires the same day, after which it is unclear how the country might survive financially.

For almost six years Greece has been on the cusp of financial disaster. Its Northern European and international creditors have extended loans, suspended interest payments and forgiven some debt.
But European lenders also have stubbornly kept to the old-fashioned principle that creditors freely borrowed their money from lenders, and therefore most borrowed money must be paid back, regardless of the current financial status of the debtors.
It appears that fellow Eurozone members have finally run out of goodwill and patience; finance ministers rejected the country’s request for a one-month extension to their bailout program.
Reacting to that decision like an indignant adolescent whose parents finally put their foot down and cut off their irresponsible teen’s allowance, Greek prime minister Tsipras threw a tantrum ~
… accusing creditors of trying to strong-arm his country into taking harsh austerity measures he says would hammer an economy already on its knees after five months of creditor-demanded spending cuts and tax hikes.
“They didn’t ask us to agree, they asked us to surrender our political dignity,” Tsipras said during a tumultuous and nearly 13-hour parliamentary session that cumulated in a vote just before 3 a.m. yesterday (6-28-15).
Analyzing the fiscal crisis, Mark Nuckols at Newsmax captioned the prime minister’s obstinacy aptly: Tsipras Screws The Pooch ~
Tsipras, the leader of Syriza (“Coalition of the Radical Left”), went on national TV at one in the morning on Saturday to announce his decision to torpedo Greece’s economy and the future of its people. Tsipras and his fruit-loopy Marxist finance minister have conducted four months of talks with Greece’s creditors trying to unlock more bailout money and bargain for yet another reduction in its outstanding debt. They’ve known all along that this Tuesday, June 30 was the drop-dead date for reaching a deal.
And all along they have been counting on blackmail to squeeze the rest of Europe for concessions. Syriza is garden variety liberalism on steroids, a party whose entire electoral appeal was “vote for us, and we’ll somehow convince the rest of Europe to cancel our national debts, and don’t worry, you can still receive your government pension at age 50.” 😯 And Tsipras’ basic negotiating stance has been, “give us more money, or we’ll declare a default, leave the eurozone, and laugh while your financial system collapses.” […]
Time was rapidly running out, and Tsipras waited in vain for the rest of Europe to blink first. And when Merkel and company failed to flinch, Tsipras decided to try a gambit whose idiocy defies belief. He announced that Greece will hold a national referendum on (July 5th) to approve or not the relief package Europe is offering.
But – the country’s going to default tomorrow. Five days before the Greeks have their say at the ballot box… Hello?!
Unfortunately for Greece, Alexis Tsipras isn’t just some irresponsible teenager who can still be reined in by his parents and taught fiscal responsibility. He’s a prime minister dragging his whole country off an economic cliff ~
At the end of the day it will be the people of Greece who suffer. And then it will be up to the Greeks to finally decide whether they want to live in a failed Balkan state like Serbia, or whether they want to toss out Tsipras and Syriza, pick up the pieces and begin the hard work of transforming Greece into an honestly run, economically stable, fiscally sound country. I believe they will, and when they do, and elect a responsible government, then Europe will be all but too happy to help Greece back on its way to its rightful place in Europe.
Others aren’t quite so optimistic.

OK let’s just re-cap Hell Week shall we?
First, we had not one but three calamitous Supreme Court decisons:
1) The Supreme Court’s Disparate-Impact Decision Is a Disaster ~
Essentially, as John Fund writes at National Review, in the case of Texas Department of Housing v. The Inclusive Communities Project ~
The question before the court was: Can you be found guilty of racial discrimination if you never engaged in policies that had any intent to discriminate?
The irrational answer from 5 of 4 justices was “yes.”
The 1968 Fair Housing Act made it clear that claims can be made only if intentionally discriminatory conduct – or disparate treatment – is involved. Since then, progressives have invented the dubious concept of “disparate impact.” With this latest decision SCOTUS is saying intent is not required so long as there seems to have been discrimination.
So in the name of eliminating perceived discrimination, the court has now mandated unfair discrimination.
2) Next, in King v. Burwell, SCOTUS usurped congressional power and re-wrote the Affordable Care Act. This should have been a no-brainer – and it was! Because clearly Justice Roberts left his at home. Led by the Chief Justice,
The Supreme Court of the United States effectively rewrote the text of Obamacare to save the legislation.
Dissenting Judge Scalia was so exasperated at the decision that he coined a new term for Obamacare: SCOTUScare ~
If a law was badly formulated, that was not the Court’s problem, (Scalia) argued. It was up to Congress to rescue the subsidies for Obamacare, not the Justices. And if people did not like it, tough: that was why the Justices were meant to serve life terms. They were meant to be above politics.
3) Worse of all of course was the ludicrous ruling on Obergefell v. Hodges in which the Supreme Court usurped God’s authority. Ben Shapiro at Breitbart said it best; SCOTUS Declares Itself God, Redefines Marriage and Rights ~
The day after declaring Obamacare magically rewritten and that the lawsuits against discrimination in housing require no proof of actual discrimination, the Supreme Court found a unicorn in the 14th Amendment.
By a vote of 5-4, the Supreme Court ruled that the right to privacy under that aforementioned 14th Amendment (adopted in 1868, when every state in America criminalized sodomy) requires that every state in America grant marriage licenses to men who want to marry men and women who want to marry women, and that every state recognize such licenses from every other state.
So what have we learned from this week’s trifecta of tyranny?
• Our government has decided it’s God, “a dignity-conferring institution capable of making moral that which religion teaches is sinful, logic teaches is worthless, and societal experience teaches is societally counterproductive.” ~ Ben Shapiro
• “Words have no meaning” and “the Supreme Court is now a threat to American democracy.” ~ Justice Antonin Scalia
• We are officially a post-constitutional nation. We’ve lost the right to govern ourselves without even putting up much of a fight.

Democracy in America did not die with jackboots; it died with the boredom and stupidity of an American people complicit in its demise, celebrating the circuses and the games provided by its new rulers, fat and happy in their submission. Let the parades be held; let the call go forth. By the power vested in them by, well, them, the Supreme Court and the left declare Americans husbands and husbands, wives and wives — and all of them slaves.

If you have built your house on the Rock instead of shifting sand, and if you are safe in the Barque of Peter, and not flailing in the stormy waters, then relax and rejoice. Life is good. And Christ’s promises stand. (And if you are still in the stormy waters, get in the boat!! There is room for all!)

Since the Supreme Court has declared itself God, essentially destroying traditional marriage in America, thought I’d post this piece by Fr. Dwight Longenecker (StandingOnMyHead blog), which offers an unsettling reminder from scripture.
[Note: The SCOTUS ruling on same-sex marriage was originally expected to be handed down on June 30th. Fr. Longenecker points out that the mass readings for that day are Genesis 19:15-29 ~ the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.]
Why Did God Destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?

…The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was not simply because the city was full of homosexuality. The violent homosexual rapists were a symptom of a deeper ugliness in Sodom and Gomorrah.
We know from earlier in Genesis that the cities of the plain were lush, rich and luxuriant. The kings of Sodom and Gomorrah were also warlike and violent.
The violent homosexual rapists of Sodom and Gomorrah were an example of the decadence, lust, luxury, greed and violence of the whole civilization.
The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was, therefore far deeper than a sexual problem. The sexual problem was the symptom of a deep, fetid and stubborn rebellion against God and everything that was natural and simple, innocent, free and good.
St Paul outlines this sick depravity in the first chapter of his epistle to the Romans:

Romans 1:18-32 ~
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Why did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?
Because there was nothing else he could do. His “doing a deal” with Abraham indicates that he had extended his mercy time and again. He waited for them to turn from their destructive ways. He waited for their stubbornness to subside and for them to turn from their culture of death.
They would not.
Did he punish them out of some sort of petty and arbitrary desire for vengeance or the need to punish evil?
I don’t think so. I think God’s judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah were linked in with the path they were already on. They were so wallowing in the culture of death, so immersed in hell that they got what they asked for. They went on the path to hell and destruction and would not turn from that path so they were given hell and destruction.
I think there comes a time when God simply can’t do anything more with humanity because we continue to go our own way and continue to reject every offer of goodness, forgiveness, life and all that is natural and beautiful and innocent and free.
We choose hell and destruction.
God will eventually give us what we have asked for.
The only thing that remains for me to wonder is how far along the road to Sodom is our present society and world?
And how much more patience will God have?
Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

Some truths are so compelling that, once discovered, can dramatically shift one’s entire world view. Such was the case when Rev. Wayne Perryman, a black American and life-long Democrat, learned which political party really deserved the epithet “racist.”
Shortly after Bill Clinton was reelected in 1996, Perryman, a former newspaper publisher, radio talk-show host, and corporate employment relations consultant, accepted a challenge from some younger members of his church to explore the historical relationship between blacks and the Democrat Party.
What he discovered undermined everything he’d previously believed about race and politics. For example:
• In 1844 the Democrat Party platform defended slavery. Founded in 1854, the Republican Party was formed primarily to oppose slavery;
• It was Republicans who sponsored and ratified the 15th Amendment (1870) which gave blacks the right to vote; further legislation was required – and passed by Republicans – to guarantee that that right would be protected (Enforcement Act of 1870 and Force Act of 1871) from Democratic voter intimidation;
• After the Civil War, as a reparation for slavery, Sherman’s Bill, giving “40 acres and a mule” to every black family, was introduced and passed by a Republican Congress. It was vetoed by President Andrew Johnson – a Democrat;
• The Ku Klux Klan was formed in 1866 by… Democrats, who were threatened by the freedoms that blacks were finally being given; the KKK terrorized, beat and murdered blacks to intimidate them into not voting, or voting only for Democrats;
• The Democrat Party was the one that wanted the Arkansas National Guard to enforce segregation; President Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican, sent the 101st Airborne to integrate the schools;
• Democrats enthusiastically support Abortion and Planned Parenthood – A black child has a 50-percent chance of being aborted and, if born, a 70-percent chance of living in a single parent home ~
Planned Parenthood, who provides a third of our nation’s abortions, gets $300 million annually from the federal government that they use to set up in black neighborhoods to perpetuate this dismal reality.
After realizing the truth about the Democrat Party past and present, Perryman had this to say about them in his book “Unfounded Loyalty:”
From 1878 to 1930, the party used fraud, whippings, lynching, murder, intimidation, and mutilation to get their vote. In the 1930s and 1960s they switched from violence and intimidation to manipulation and voter’s registration.
During the 20th century Democrats shifted from overt racism to a more subtle version.
Today they’re the party of malcontents and empty promises; passing out ever more free stuff (healthcare, foodstamps, condoms, cell phones…) but never offering any hope of individual prosperity. Promoting dependence – not independence.
Once openly pro-slavery, Democrats continue to assure blacks and other minorities that they really aren’t capable of supporting themselves without government assistance…
They’re like bad parents who actually discourage their children from growing up and becoming responsible, productive citizens. In reality, their version of “HOPE” is pretty darn hopeLESS.

Fathers Day is apparently not a particularly important holiday in the Barack Obama household. The president spent last Sunday golfing in California while Michelle and the first daughters were half a world away, jaunting about Europe.
Maybe it’s because the occasion doesn’t hold any special significance from Obama’s childhood – or worse – triggers negative memories.
Honestly, despite the damage he’s inflicting on our country, in my more charitable moments, I truly find myself feeling sorry for the guy.
After all, not that long ago he was just a cute little boy dressed up like a pirate… ➡
A cute little boy who never really had a daddy.
Oh, he had a sperm donor – that guy from Kenya with at least four different wives (sometimes two at once). (It’s also been rumored that Frank Marshall Davis may have impregnated Stanley Ann Dunham. But let’s not go there right now.)
Then there was the stepfather, Lolo Soetoro; married to Obama’s mother for little more than a decade. There really wasn’t much time for paternal bonding with him because Barack only spent about four years in Indonesia (from ages 6 to 10). Then mom shipped him back to Hawaii to live with her folks.
Frankly, I think it’s Obama’s dad deficit that accounts for the president’s worst traits. Having been denied the love, support, security and stability that a responsible, caring father would have provided, young Barry grew up to become an unhappy, vindictive, envious and resentful adult.
Unfortunately, we’re all suffering for the sins of his fathers.
Little Barack isn’t alone in getting shafted in the dad department these days. Tragically, fatherless families are becoming the national norm. And that has somber repercussions ~
The greatest threat to American-style socialism is a Godful father in the home. The last two Democratic Presidents had no such fathers. There is strong evidence that both Presidents Clinton and Obama suffered childhood abuse resulting from unstable, toxic parenting. These kinds of childhoods are being inflicted on more and more American children as socialist progressivism moves authority and responsibility from parents, especially fathers, to government.

What have dinosaur bones been trying to tell evolution scientists lately?
“It’s time to dump Darwinism!”
It’s true. Recent research has uncovered some amazing new facts about dinosaurs that seriously erode both the theory of evolution and the 4 billion year old-earth assumption.
First, paleontologists have discovered soft tissue in dinosaur bones ~
The cupboards of the Natural History Museum in London hold spectacular dinosaur fossils, from 15-centimeter, serrated Tyrannosaurus rex teeth to a 4-meter-long hadrosaur tail. Now, researchers are reporting another spectacular find, buried in eight nondescript fossils from the same collection: what appear to be ancient red blood cells and fibers of ancient protein. This finding is by no means an isolated incident. Although it’s been vastly under-reported, according to Creation-Evolution Headlines (CEH), soft tissue was originally found a decade ago. Now however, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the evolutionists to excuse away (with new far-fetched theories) its existence.
In this latest study, investigators used ordinary, common bones from museum specimens. In other words, random bones that had just been hanging around collecting dust ~
“Incredibly, none of the samples showed external indicators of exceptional preservation and this strongly suggests that the preservation of soft tissues and even proteins is a more common phenomenon than previously accepted.”
How can soft tissue (they found collagen and red blood cells) last for millions of years? Short answer: It can’t.
Most paleontologists believe that dinosaurs lived around 75 million years ago. But that estimate…
… is about 18 times longer than the previous “expert” opinion about the longevity of collagen, especially in its quaternary structure. Can this giant leap be simply assumed? Four million years was already a stretch for many who said soft tissue degrades quickly after death. Moreover, they thought it could only be preserved for 4my under exceptional conditions of preservation—not on common bones in museum collections.
But the news just got even worse for evolution proponents: Carbon-14 Found in Dinosaur Bone ~
Because of the isotope’s short half-life (5,730 years), no C14 should be detectable after about 100,000 years. Finding measurable C14 in the bones would therefore invalidate the consensus belief that dinosaurs lived and died over 65 million years ago.
This video from New Geology is a bit technical but pretty amazing. It lists numerous examples of carbon dating on various bone samples. None are dated older than 38,000! ~
Now even the secular media is acknowledging the possibility that ~ Newly Tested Bones Suggest We Once Coexisted With Dinosaurs. And if dinosaurs really were walking around only 30,000 years ago, there goes the whole theory of evolution which requires vast amounts of time to prop up. As CEH puts it ~
These findings basically collapse the entire geologic column, and destroy the evolutionary narrative of millions of years.
So now the question is – just how long will the Darwin crowd try to discredit and/or ignore these new facts?
