Wrath of the Left Descends on Brad Pitt’s Mom

Wow. If you want to avoid death threats, don’t mess with Obama supporters and homosexual activists. Brad Pitt’s mother learned that lesson the hard way.

It all started when Jane Pitt, probably assuming she still had a right to free speech in America, penned a letter to the editor in her local Missouri newspaper. She was responding to another reader who felt Christians shouldn’t vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon.

Pitt, like a large percentage of Christians, believes that – considering the radical alternative – Romney is clearly the best choice for president. Mormonism and all. And her letter politely articulated that position.

Here’s a portion of she wrote, published by the Springfield News-Leader, via WorldNetDaily:

I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon…

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama – a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

Sounds like common sense reasoning based on fact and rooted in faith. But to the radical Left them’s fightin words, and so the hate brigade kicked into high gear.

Every leftist pundit, ad nauseum, immediately painted Pitt as “Anti-Gay.” As usual, unable to justify their extremist positions in a civil debate, they slip into default mode: misrepresent, smear and demonize your opponent(s).

Since the publication of her letter, Jane Pitt has been intimated into silence by these cretins. She’s even been the subject of death threats!

Among other vile comments on various social media sites were these gems:

“Brad Pitt’s mom, die,” wrote Twitter-poster Sandy Kownacka.

A tweet from “I Bleed Gaga” echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Brad Pitt’s mom wrote an anti-gay pro-Romney editorial. Kill the b—-.”

Other comments included, “F— you, brad pitt’s mom, the gay community made your kid a star, you whacko,” and, “Brad Pitt’s mom is a dumb c—.”

Charming, yes?

Beyond the progressive deconstructionist positions, it’s the angry, hateful rhetoric that exposes the Left for the insidious threat they represent to civil discourse in America and to free speech itself.

Jane Pitt’s daughter-in-law’s father comes to her defense: Jon Voight defends Brad Pitt’s mom after she gets death threats for penning anti-Obama letter to the editor

My only question is, how did two decent people like Pitt & Voight wind up with a couple wacko kids like Brangelina?

Whack-a-Drone #12

Here is another cogent, concise and convincing
example of the rightness of Conservatism.
Whack your favorite drone(s) with the TRUTH:

[There’s a high probability it won’t penetrate their thick
armor of denial – but hey, it’s worth a shot.]

Want job growth in your state? Elect a Republican governor.

As Breitbart.com reports ~ In 2010, influenced by the Tea Party and its focus on fiscal issues, 17 states elected Republican governors. And, according to an Examiner.com analysis, every one of those states saw a drop in their unemployment rates since January of 2011.

Alabama – 9.3% to 7.4% = a decline of 1.9 percentage points

Florida – 10.9% to 8.6% = a decline of 2.3 percentage points

Georgia – 10.1% to 8.9% = a decline of 1.2 percentage points

Iowa – 6.1% to 5.1% = a decline of 1.0 percentage points

Kansas – 6.9% to 6.1% = a decline of 0.8 percentage points

Maine – 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of 0.6 percentage points

Michigan – 10.9% to 8.5% = a decline of 2.4 percentage points

Nevada – 13.8% to 11.6% = a decline of 2.2 percentage points

New Mexico – 7.7% to 6.7% = a decline of 1.0 percentage points

Ohio – 9.0% to 7.3% = a decline of 1.7 percentage points

Oklahoma – 6.2% to 4.8% = a decline of 1.4 percentage points

Pennsylvania – 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of .6 percentage points

South Carolina – 10.6% to 9.1% = a decline of 1.5 percentage points

South Dakota – 5.0% to 4.3% = a decline of 0.7 percentage points

Tennessee – 9.5% to 7.9% = a decline of 1.6 percentage points

Wisconsin – 7.7% to 6.8% = a decline of 0.9 percentage points

Wyoming – 6.3% to 5.2% = a decline of 1.1 percentage points

From Examiner.com ~

Every single one of these 17 states has seen its unemployment rate decline since January 2011. Three of them have had unemployment drop by more than 2% (Michigan, Florida, and Nevada). The average drop in the unemployment rate in these states was 1.35%. For a comparison, in January 2011 the U.S. national unemployment rate stood at 9.1%. It is currently 8.2%, meaning that the national unemployment rate has declined by just 0.9% since then. Based on these percentages, it can be said that the job market in states with new Republican governors is improving a full 50% faster than the job market nationally.

America – Founded on Faith

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

~ John Adams ~

This short video from Heritage’s Foundry is an important reminder that faith in a higher authority is the true foundation of our Constitutional Republic ~

“Whether you choose to worship or not, or how you choose to worship, everyone benefits from the interweaving of faith into our societal fabric. To eliminate it from the public discourse would deny our history and remove a crucial component of the American Spirit.”

From “The American Spirit,” a new book coauthored by Dr. Ed Feulner, president of The Heritage Foundation, and Brian Tracy

Saturday Shorts – 7-7-12

Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

A Sign of the Times? Lifeguard Rescues Man, Gets Fired ~ Hey – that guy’s going down for the third time… but don’t you dare leave your designated area to save him!

After Posting $70 Million Loss, French Company Lands $25 Million from DOE ~ “The Department of Energy recently awarded $25 million to a French company (Soitec Solar) that posted net losses of about $70 million last year, and whose solar division is particularly troubled financially.” That’s right – just keep shredding more hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

Optimistically, as one of the commenters on this article at the Foundry so eloquently put it:
“Hope all this comes back to bite Obama in the ass bigtime in November!”

Black mobs now beating Jews in New York ~ Shhhhh…. Don’t mention this story to anyone. It’s racist.

Despite horrors like this ~ ‘Honour killing’ of mother, 30, beheaded by her ex-husband… who then decapitated their two young children because they’d watched ~ which seem to be endemic to Islam, Indiana Democratic Rep. Andre Carson claimed in late May that America’s schools should be modeled after Islamic madrassas.
Yes Andre, we’ll just overlook the troubling reality that the religion of peace is anything but.

Moving Beyond Two Parents?

Apparently social breakdown isn’t occurring fast enough for the progressive crowd. No matter the overwhelming evidence that the traditional family; one mother and one father, is the best environment for children, they keep coming up with new ways to destroy it.

For instance, in California – always on the cutting edge of cultural insanity – state Senator Mark Leno has introduced legislation that would allow a child to have multiple parents. From The Miami Herald:

“The bill brings California into the 21st century, recognizing that there are more than Ozzie and Harriet families today,” the San Francisco Democrat said.

Surrogate births, same-sex parenthood and assisted reproduction are changing society by creating new possibilities for nontraditional households and relationships.

Benjamin Lopez, legislative analyst for the Traditional Values Coalition, blasted Leno’s bill as a new attempt to “revamp, redefine and muddy the waters” of family structure by a leader in the drive to legalize gay marriage.

“It comes as no surprise that he would try to say that a child has more than two parents – that’s absurd,” said Lopez, whose group calls itself a leading voice for Bible-based values.

Under Leno’s bill, if three or more people who acted as parents could not agree on custody, visitation and child support, a judge could split those things up among them.

SB 1476 is not meant to expand the definition of who can qualify as a parent, only to eliminate the limit of two per child.

Even more outrageous, we have this brave new development: British Bioethics Council Gives OK to Three-Parent Embryo, reported by Life News.
Ostensibly to prevent genetic diseases from being inherited, this development will effectively allow scientists to create new forms of parentage in the laboratory.

Three-parent” fertility treatments designed to prevent some incurable inherited diseases would be ethical and should go ahead as long as research shows they are likely to be safe and effective, a British medical ethics panel said on Tuesday.

The Nuffield Council on Bioethics said the treatments – which have become known as three-parent in vitro fertilization (IVF) because the offspring have genes from a mother, father and from a female donor – should be offered to affected families together with full information and expert support.

“If these treatments are successful, these children would be among the first in the world to have a genetic connection to not two people, but three people,” said Geoff Watts, who chaired a Nuffield inquiry into the issue. “There are a number of ethical questions that arise and needed to be considered.”

Ya think?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Divorce, re-marriage, shack-ups, unmarried mothers – all that’s not enough for the social deconstructionists. Let’s devolve further by destroying the foundational building block of every human society since the dawn of man.
Personal experience teaches us that there is no perfect couple, no perfect marriage, no perfect family. It cannot be otherwise because none of us as an individual is fault-free. And yet, in pursuit of that impossible dream of perfection we continue to break what we do have.
The future of human civilization is starting to look awfully precarious.
Two American Characters
Martin Luther King, Jr., in his 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech, famously proclaimed; “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Dr. King being a minister, we can safely assume that his measurement of “character” would have included those qualities which were good, decent, honorable – constructive, not destructive. Using that criteria it’s not difficult to evaluate the following two men and their individual reflections on Independence Day.
The first, comedian Chris Rock, proffered this witty comment on Twitter:
Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed the fireworks. Haha
Yeah Chris, LOL.
Focus on what was wrong with the country more than 230 years ago. Ignore the Christian Abolitionist movement. Mock the blood of over 500,000 Americans spilled to bring an end to slavery. Continue to pick a scab that long since should have been allowed to heal – but for angry (millionaire) leftists like you. All for a few yucks.
As the kids used to say Rock, “that was so funny I forgot to laugh.”
Then there’s Rep. Allen King who had a much different message yesterday:
Happy Birthday to Our Constitutional Republic.
Today we come together as Americans to celebrate the day on which we declared our independence from Great Britain. Fifty-six rebels came together 236 years ago in the heat of a Philadelphia summer to write a declaration the likes of which had never occurred in recorded history.
As lawyers, merchants, farmers and land owners, they had plenty to lose. But as revolutionaries, fighting against an imperial, despotic ruler, they had everything to gain. Their goal was to establish a new form of government which derived its power from the individual and not from the monarch. Our Founders shared a unified vision for our nation. They understood this unity of the many was necessary to uphold the sovereignty of the individual, and the fundamental rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Then, they took to the battlefield to secure this liberty. And since the founding of our nation, we have taken to the battlefield on numerous occasions to defend our freedoms and our way of life. Today we remember the men who laid down their lives at Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Valley Forge and Yorktown to secure our freedom, and all service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice in all battles throughout our nation’s history to preserve our cherished freedoms.
Founding Father John Adams wrote his wife, Abigail, regarding the signing of the Declaration of Independence “I believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival… It ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other…”
Today from sea to shining sea we will light up the skies with fireworks in a celebration of the longest enduring Constitutional Republic, and in remembrance of the men who mutually pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to create the United States of America.
If America has really reached the point where a man can be judged by the content of his character, it’s pretty obvious which of these two is by far the better man.
ADF Wins Victory for NYC Churches
For 17 years now New York City churches have been fighting to retain their right to rent space from public schools to hold their weekly services. The congregations are mostly from the poorer segment of society, which is why they can’t afford their own church buildings. Oddly enough, these are the people that Leftists usually claim to care about – unless of course – religion is involved.
Back in January, a federal court had upheld the city’s decision to not allow services in public schools. Some 60 churches were forced to make alternative arrangements. Heavenly Vision Christian Center even met in the street: Church Banned From School Building, Worships on NYC Street.
Finally though, there’s some good news in this case: Churches No Longer Evicted: Weekend Worship Services Will Continue at NYC Schools. Last Friday a federal court granted a permanent injunction that will allow churches and other faith-based groups to continue to meet in public school buildings after hours.
ADF (Alliance Defense Fund) Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence had this to say about the court’s decision:
ADF will continue to defend this constitutionally protected right if the city chooses to continue using taxpayer money to evict the very groups that are selflessly helping the city’s communities, including the public schools themselves.”
Churches meeting in New York City public schools for worship services have fed the poor, have assisted in rehabilitating drug addicts and gang members, have helped rebuild marriages and families, and have provided for the disabled. The churches have also helped the public schools themselves by volunteering to paint the interiors of inner-city schools; donating computers, musical instruments, and air conditioners; and providing effective after-school programs to help all students with their studies.
“There is no reason to exclude worship services from these empty school buildings, especially when the school allows all other community groups to meet,” Lorence explained. “Why exclude churches that are helping their neighbors in so many significant ways?”
Why indeed? Could it possibly be that the nanny state proponents want to push God out of the picture entirely, and force the poor to rely solely on the government for their very existence?
The evidence that that’s the case is sure mounting. In March petty tyrant NYC Mayor Bloomberg actually banned food donations to the homeless! Apparently the food might not meet his high standards of healthiness. So better to let people starve?! Or come crawling to the government for their free cheese?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The real tragedy is that the progressive left has been allowed to force religion out of the public square so effectively because they’ve rewritten history.

The whole “separation of church and state” issue has been predicated on a deliberate misreading of the founders intentions for decades now. If Thomas Jefferson’s famous letter to the Danbury Baptists had been meant to prevent churches from holding worship services in public buildings why would Jefferson himself have attended church in the U.S. Capitol Building just two days after he wrote the letter?

The present-day church service the video is referencing was held in 2010

How can anyone honestly make the case that Jefferson would have opposed churches using public schools to hold services? He was actually the man who gave the Senate approval for the use of the Capitol Building!

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.

~ Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781 ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m so grateful that organizations like ADF and Speak Up continue to battle for religious freedom. Because the secular atheists are relentless in their mission to destroy it.
Don’t know about you, but in these dark days, I’m certainly trembling for my country. And praying.
Repeal! Repeal! Repeal!
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) can almost always be counted on to come down on the RIGHT side of any political debate. Here he was on Thursday just a couple hours after the Supreme’s incomprehensible decision on Obamacare:
[Video source: Heritage Foundation]
“The Supreme Court may have said we can keep it,” DeMint added. “But the American people must stand up and say it is bad policy, it’s bad law, it’s bad for our economy and it’s bad for the American people. And most of all, it’s bad for health care.”
Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:
32 Grieving Parents with Absolute Moral Authority over Obama ~ Their sons paid the ultimate price – they deserve some resolution. And no – none of them are Cindy Sheehan.
The article also mentions a new documentary: Losing Our Sons, which exposes the federal government’s disgraceful miscarriage of justice and their continued denial of the threat of radical Islam (think Ft. Hood).
66-Year-Old Gay Rights Icon Arrested Over Horrific Child Porn Allegations ~ Born that way?! Absolutely disgusting.
And then there’s this: Pentagon honors what used to be a military crime. Also absolutely disgusting.
(T)he Chaplain Alliance finds it ironic that while the Pentagon is willing to celebrate deviant behavior, it has never promoted a “heterosexual pride month” to honor the contributions of those who make up at least 97 percent of the military.
A Stealth Coup d’État in the United States ~ by retired Army Colonel Lawrence Sellin. Written before the outrageous Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare:
Thomas Jefferson wrote:
“And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?”
The battle line of the Second American Revolution has been drawn: expose Obama and the entire corrupt system protecting him will also be exposed.
Abound Solar latest clean energy loan guarantee recipient to announce bankruptcy ~ Let’s see, that’s makes how many now? Oh heck, I’ve lost count.
Here’s the Prez on video last summer, just abounding with pride over Abound’s promising future.
Time for “WE THE PEOPLE” to take back our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!
In the wake of yesterday’s startling news from the Supreme Court, Ben Shapiro at Breitbart is pulling no punches with his assessment of what this ruling means for America’s future… it ain’t pretty.
The myth is finished. The Constitutional order was shredded long ago by a Congress that does not care about upholding it; an executive branch interested only in growing federal power; and a Supreme Court that sees itself as a super-Congress, unanswerable to the Constitution.
But today, in one of the most egregious acts of judicial revisionism in American history, Chief Justice John Roberts and the Supreme Court pulled back the curtain for the American people. Nobody will protect the Constitution but the citizens of the United States.
It’s a sobering realization. For too long, Americans have trusted their politicians implicitly to do the “legal” thing – after all, a huge percentage of Congresspeople are lawyers. Americans figured that their representatives would find a way to balance the Constitution and their own desire for re-election. And Congresspeople found a way to abdicate responsibility: they passed whatever bills they felt like passing, whatever bills forwarded their political ambition, and then tossed them to the Executive Branch. If there was a violation of the Constitution, they implicitly said, that’s not our problem – blame the president and the Supreme Court.
…These people simply do not give a damn about the Constitution. They care only about their political power.
…the American people have been lied to. Our politicians have promised to uphold the Constitutional structure that guarantees our freedoms, and they’ve ignored that promise. Our presidents have done the same. And the Supreme Court has, over the past eighty-odd years, thrown the Constitution out the window in favor of barely-mitigated liberalism. If we didn’t learn that from Roe v. Wade, in which the Court magically produced a right to abortion via emanations and penumbras, we should certainly have learned it today…
…The time for playing the innocents is over. The blinders are off. We cannot rely on our elected and appointed officials to protect us from our own irresponsibility. We have been abandoned by our elected officials, by our Supreme Court, by our presidents. And we were complicit in that abandonment, since, after all, we voted for them.
…The Constitution lives and dies with us. It always has. And we have an obligation to defend and protect it.
Read Shapiro’s whole piece – time to engage!
Now It’s Up To You! LET’S ROLL!
June 28, 2012: A Date Which Will Live In Infamy
June 28th, 2012 will now be remembered as – to paraphrase Mark Levin – the date that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt by the House of Representatives and… the date that the Supreme Court held the American people in contempt.
For a little perspective, let’s recall a few other events that occurred on this same date in in America’s past shall we?
1776 Charleston, SC – Patriot troops manning a fort of sand and palmetto logs repulsed a British sea attack
1778 Battle of Monmouth, NJ – George Washington’s Continental Army battled the British to a draw
1787 Delegates to the Constitutional Convention were meeting at Independence Hall in Philadelphia to establish a new government for their fledgling country. Debate at times became extremely contentious. Before it had barely begun, the United States had reached a critical juncture.
Amid flaring tempers, Benjamin Franklin, the oldest delegate, rose and offered a simple but profound suggestion: prayer.
2012 U.S. Supreme Court rules that the Affordable Healthcare Act otherwise known as Obamacare (in the form of a $1.76 trillion tax increase) – is constitutional.
Welcome to Post-Constitutional America!
Benjamin Franklin’s words on June 28th may be more relevant today than they were in 1787. Reminding the other delegates that they had asked for divine aid at the start of the Revolutionary War, Franklin said this:
Our prayers sir were heard, and they were graciously answered. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance? I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Some 230 years since our founders were fighting British tyranny, we are called upon to oppose a new tyranny: an out-of-control federal autocracy that ignores the Constitution, and seeks to prevent We the People from having any voice at all in our own government.

If we hope to re-gain the freedoms purchased as such great cost by the original patriots, and defended by so many more since then, we must begin the fight on our knees. In a sincere appeal to the Divine Source of our inalienable rights ~
