Completely Unfit for Command

Our Commander-in-Chief is an epic FAIL!

Not only has President Obama done an abysmal job of protecting America from all enemies foreign and domestic, when faced with irrefutable proof of their tragic incompetence the administration refuses to accept responsibility, resorting instead to obfuscation,outright lies and total insincerity.

And speaking of Media Malpractice…

As usual, Victor Davis Hanson brilliantly captures the historical significance behind present-day headlines, in this case the Benghazi fiasco: The Ever-Stranger Case of a Murdered US Ambassador ~

In the past — in Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, etc. — the murder of an American ambassador sparked immediate debates over security lapses, but in the Libyan case the media seems to be doing its best not to investigate the circumstances around the murders. And there seems to have been not so much a breach of security, as no security at all. In the past, hostage-taking, sniper shootings, or plane crashes accounted for the deaths of our ambassadors. The notion of an American ambassador trapped nearly alone for hours before succumbing to smoke inhalation, while helpless under sustained armed assault, cries out for explanation.

Likewise in the past, often the perpetrators deliberately tried to obfuscate culpability, but in this instance — also a first, I believe — the US government tried to deflect attention away from an Islamist plot to a sort of spontaneous general chaos that got out of hand, in which no one quite planned or even deliberately sought to kill Ambassador Stevens — a scenario that only the killers might appreciate in that it might delay or even prevent retribution coming their way.

Until either the media assumes an investigatory responsibility or the administration offers a candid assessment of what happened, we are still left puzzled over the quite amazing statements offered by Jay Carney, James Clapper, and Susan Rice, and those also of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, which all can only invite speculation:

An election-mode administration apparently was deeply invested in the post-convention narrative of Middle East calm — brought about by the end of bin Laden, the new reset diplomacy of a popular and cool-headed Barack Obama, the dismantling of al Qaeda by Predator-drone assassinations, and a US-shepherded Arab Spring. To the extent that official scenario was endangered by the Libyan murders, the causes were a hate-speech video disseminated by a right-wing, unhinged Florida preacher and a hate-mongering immigrant criminal that evoked “natural” anger from aggrieved Muslims.

A final generic observation: When comparing the furor over Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib with the current lack of interest, it almost seems that the media, over the last two administrations, goes ballistic when the US purportedly causes injury to suspected radical Islamists, but becomes comatose when the latter cause injury to us.

And can you even imagine the media outrage if the Libyan Embassy tragedy, and subsequent dissembling by an administration, had occurred on a Republican’s watch?

Media Malpractice: Obamanation

During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been levelled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare. These abuses of an institution so important to freedom and science are deeply to be regretted, inasmuch as they tend to lessen its usefulness and to sap its safety.

~ Thomas Jefferson ~

Ask any conservative who the worst president in American history is and the answer will undoubtedly be the man-child currently residing at 1600
Pennsylvania Avenue. Insidiously compounding the country’s woes though, propping up every gaffe, bad decision and disaster he’s facilitated, have been the sycophants in the mainstream media. But for their dereliction of duty in vetting Obama in the first place, we might not be standing on the edge a financial cliff, radical Islamists at our back and the wrath of God ahead of us.

A couple weeks ago, Accuracy In Media (AIM) held a day-long conference; “Obamanation; a Day of Truth,” which focused on major issues concerning the Obama administration that have largely been misreported, underreported or ignored by the mainstream press. Considering the mountains of B.S. they’ve been shoveling for the last four years – there’s enough material for a month-long event, but there were clearly time constraints involved since the election is right around the corner.

Right Side News has a detailed re-cap of the conference: The Media is the Real Enemy. Speakers included:

Dr. Betsy McCaughey, former Lt. Governor of New York, perhaps the foremost expert on Obamacare, President, Defend Your Healthcare ~

Dr. McCaughey described in detail how Obamacare is going to ruin Medicare. She again raised the specter of death panels and explained that Obamacare requires extreme cuts to Medicare that will necessitate commensurate cuts in healthcare services to seniors. Some of the life-saving procedures that are routine today will become completely unavailable, and the necessary rationing will begin.

Andrew McCarthy, journalist, author of The Grand Jihad & Spring Fever, former federal prosecutor, co-author, Shariah: The Threat to America, and;
Frank Gaffney, president Center for Security Policy, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy under Reagan, co-author of Shariah: The Threat to America.
Both men spoke about the clear and present danger that America faces from radical Islam – at home as well as abroad. They focused especially on the Muslim Brotherhood and its strategic plan of a “civilization-jihadist process…a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” by our hands.

McCarthy also spoke about the administration’s casual disregard for the rule of law ~

“What we’re seeing in this administration, is not only an out-of-whack choice about what their priorities ought to be, but the actual use of political philosophy in deciding who gets prosecuted, and how cases get conducted—and that, for somebody who’s been inside the Justice Department, is an unbelievable thing…If you have a situation where the Justice Department is using politics in the actual enforcement of the law, then you don’t have the rule of law anymore, and you don’t have equal protection under the law anymore.”

During the AIM conference, Andrew McCarthy was interviewed about
his latest book: “Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy.”

“Arab Spring” is a narrative that’s counter-reality. It wasn’t a spontaneous
outbreak of democracy, it was an ascendancy of Islamic supremacy.

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr. founder of Exodus Faith Ministries, Chesapeake, Va., candidate, U.S. Senate from Virginia, 2012, President of S.T.A.N.D. ~

Jackson spoke on religious liberty and the Constitution, noting how the Obama administration demonstrates contempt for the Constitution every day. “I think we are being led by people who don’t respect our Constitution. They just fundamentally don’t think it’s important.”

Pat Caddell, former Democratic pollster turned mainstream political critic, who actually declared the main stream media “the Enemy,” citing by name the Washington Post, the New York Times, ABC, NBC and CBS ~

“I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy… the overwhelming bias has become very real and very dangerous.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the illustrious members of the fourth estate hadn’t totally abdicated their responsibilities over the last decade or more Obama would be impeached by now. Better yet, he never would have made it into the Oval Office.
At his website, Elmer “E.T. ” Willliams is righteously requesting an answer to the question Whatever Happened To COMMON SENSE? He’s not just criticizing Barack Obama, but the entire wrong-headed, ungodly worldview that he embraces.
I wish a whole lot of voters would check this guy out before November 6th – especially Obamaphone Lady!
The Happy Warrior… and the Angry Leftists
Whoa! If this picture, taken right after the debate last week, doesn’t speak several thousand words…
When they’re not “on” for the cameras you sure get a much better picture of the character of these two men (and the First Lady!).
I heard somewhere that right after the debate, before he left the stage, Romney quietly walked over and collected his own papers, etc. (not sure if this is that particular moment or not). Obama just naturally left that menial task to his underlings.
This photo also captures a sentiment that’s consistent with what Glenn Thrush said in his e-book, Obama’s Last Stand, about Obama’s real feelings for Mitt Romney via Mike Allen:
“One factor made the 2012 grind bearable and at times even fun for Obama: he began campaign preparations feeling neutral about Romney, but like the former governor’s GOP opponents in 2008 and 2012, he quickly developed a genuine disdain for the main. That scorn stoked Obama’s competitive fire, got his head in the game, which came as a relief to some Obama aides who had seen his interest flag when he didn’t feel motivated to crush the opposition. Obama, a person close to him told me, didn’t even feel this strongly about conservative, combative House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the Hill Republican he disliked the most. At least Cantor stood for something, he’d say.”
“When he talked about Romney, aides picked up a level of anger he never had for Clinton or McCain, even after Sarah Palin was picked as his running mate. ‘There was a baseline of respect for John McCain. The president always thought he was an honorable man and a war hero,’ said a longtime Obama adviser. ‘That doesn’t hold true for Romney. He was no goddamned war hero.’”
Gee Barack, you’re a real class act.
Saturday Shorts – 10-6-12
Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:
Girl, 16, says teacher at Port Richmond school ridiculed her Romney T-shirt ~ A geometry teacher at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond,PA on Friday told the student to leave class, “Your wearing a Romney shirt is like me wearing a KKK shirt.” 😯
This woman obviously has her political parties mixed up. The Left has been so successful at mis-educating people that teacher needs a history lesson: The Democratic Party’s long history of racism. And she apparently missed the Republican convention.
Save our ships – Prez vs. key US industry ~ Hmmm… who’s really sending jobs overseas? Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY; Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn) explains how the Obama administration is hurting the US maritime industry by repeatedly waiving the Jones Act.
Gov’t Urges Parents to Use School Lunches As a Model for Family Dinner ~ “You will eat what we tell you to eat – or else…” ➡ School May Install Trash Cams to Spy on Kids Tossing Veggies.
NY Times deplores loss of leftist dominance of Israeli media ~ While the less confused and more rational among us applaud it.
“Independence Day:” Obama Boogaloo ~ Misfit Politics imagines the film’s different trajectory with Obama as president;
“We stand with our undocumented extraterrestrial brethren in their heroic and completely spontaneous efforts to see for themselves how awesome I truly am.”
California Governor extends $100 million Hollywood tax credit ~ now it’ll be cheaper for them to make movies about the evils of corporate welfare. Governor Moonbeam plays the LaLa Land version of Chicago-style politics:
It’s disturbingly funny when a politician makes a proposal and then signs off on a second proposal designed to ward off an unintended consequence that proves why the first proposal is a really bad idea. To top it off, an industry that benefits from large tax credits then takes some of their tax credit windfall and donates it back to the cause of forcing the rich to pay higher taxes. Circle of life, Hollywood style.
Mitt Maximus
Inspired by Wednesday’s presidential debate, Anthony G. Dispenza at American Thinker likens the dynamic between Romney and Obama to that of Maximus and Emperor Commodus in the movie Gladiator: The Obama Myth Will Not Survive the Debates.
Perhaps a bit overstated, the comparison is still an appropriate one ~
The fraudulence of Obama’s presidency is so great that only an analogy can bring us close to sufficiently expressing that fraud. In the movie The Gladiator, Roman Emperor Commodus abuses his power to rule over the people with an iron fist and to ensure that he is viewed favorably, while the truly great man in Maximus is initially thought to be a mere slave and far inferior to Commodus.
When confronted with the man himself, however, the Coliseum crowds come to adore the brave gladiator, and Commodus’ advantage of holding favor by hiding behind the power of the state is diminished. Eventually Commodus has no choice but to engage the truly superior Maximus face-to-face, and despite cheating, Commodus loses. The last four years and their culmination in last night’s debate have been quite similar.
Propped up by an adoring mainstream media, Emperor Obama has become almost superhuman. Recall when, Newsweek’s Evan Thomas declared on MSNBC, “I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God.”
The University of Denver served as the Coliseum, the people’s Maximus was found in Mitt Romney, and our Commodus-like-president had nowhere to hide. And while we slave-like peasants — as we conservatives are viewed by Obama — knew the strength of our fellow gladiator, the blinded masses had their eyes opened for the first time. Just as Commodus, the privileged son of the Emperor, never had to actually fight, Obama has never before had to reconcile his view of the world with reality.
From community organizer to “constitutional scholar,” to absentee Senator to the presidency, Obama has lived his entire life in a world of mere ideas without ever having to depend on the truth of those ideas. Obama never needed a speech or a dissertation or a memoir to have any basis in reality in order to house himself or feed his children; he needed only to perpetuate the lies that his liberal followers were so eager to believe.
As Dispenza says, the present-day struggle of Maximus and Commodus was completely one-sided;
… so much so that even the liberal media seemed to concede the debate to Romney in their post-debate analysis. In terms of style, Romney clearly articulated conservative principles, cited specific policies, and buttressed both with plenty of facts and figures. Romney looked Obama in the eye when addressing him, and looked at the camera when addressing America, and spoke clearly without hesitation.
When speaking, Obama looked down at the podium or searched the ceiling for answers, but rarely at Romney or the camera. His usual agitation at those who disagree with him was apparent, and he even snipped at moderator Jim Lehrer. Obama’s overall strategy was to accuse Romney of being vague no matter how specific Romney was, and to make false claims about Romney’s intentions as president.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

By the time the Gladiator’s final scenes unfold, even the Emperor’s young nephew is able to recognize Commodus for the selfish tyrant he is, and wholeheartedly transfers his allegiance to Maximus, a man of honest integrity and courage.

In the Gladiator – as well as in the real world, substance, facts and character eventually triumph over mirage, propaganda and vacuity.

What’s so bad about BIG Government?

Here’s another succinctly instructive video from Dennis Prager/Prager University ~

When the government gets BIGGER – everything else get SMALLER:
• liberty
• individuality
• goodness
• human character

The truth is, when we abdicate personal responsibility to the state, we diminish our own lives.

Mile High Debate: Obama falls flat

Whoa! What happened to that engaging, charismatic, dynamic persona that the Left was so enamored with four years ago?
I mean OK, POTUS wasn’t allowed to bring TOTUS to the debate, but what a sharp contrast. Candidate Obama in ’08 was aggressive, self-assured, forceful. The Barack that showed up in Denver last night was defensive, insecure, feckless… petulant.

Essentially, a presidential debate is an interview for the most important job in the world. Based on his lackluster performance last night, would you hire Obama for the proverbial dog-catcher, let alone the leader of the free world?

The candidates were in the “Mile High” city last night – Barack Obama seemed to be foundering at sea level.

Obamus Lex

As I wrote about on Monday, in his never-ending quest to overturn almost four centuries of western civilization’s legal tradition(Lex Rex), Obama once again took extra-Constitutional action – with regard to Lockheed Martin’s pending layoffs (advising them to disregard the WARN Act because their compliance would negatively impact his reelection chances and further, promising taxpayer dollars to assist with any subsequent court costs). Yesterday Blaze TV’s “Real News” held a panel discussion about the President’s stunning contempt for the rule of law:

As the commentators explain, this action is especially outrageous and hypocritical when you consider Obama’s past legislative actions.
While acting as state senator, Obama supported Illinois’ version of the federal WARN Act, and as a U.S. senator he co-sponsored a toughened-up version of the law; the Forewarn Act (which luckily died in committee).

Had the (Forewarn) legislation passed, it would have applied WARN to employers of 50 or more employees rather than 100 employees. It also would have required employers to provide employees and certain governmental officials with 90 days written notice of plant closings or mass layoffs rather than 60 days notice. The legislation also defined a “plant closing” to include a shut down affecting 25 workers. The legislation increased the penalties under the WARN Act to require an employer to pay two days’ pay for each calendar day the employer was short of the required notice rather than one day’s pay.

Although the legislation did not pass out of the 110th Congress, it should be noted that one of its co-sponsors was then Senator, now President Barack Obama.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This story should be at the top of every national newscast, along with being a topic at tonight’s presidential debate. Don’t voters deserve to know the truth about Obama’s blatant disregard for the Constitution?
Or do American’s really want to go back to the 17th century when Rex Lex (The King Is the Law) prevailed?
