Uh-oh. Sounds like healthcare insurers are none-too-thrilled with President Obama’s latest executive “adjustments” to his trademark legislation. Here’s a story from the Daily Caller ~ Insurance companies protest Obama’s Obamacare fix.
 

Initially the Blues and other large companies happily supported the government takeover of healthcare. That always seemed counter-productive to me, but this explanation makes sense:

The major insurance companies have accepted the Obamacare system because it minimizes free-market competition, and provides them with steady and predictable profits in perpetuity. The only price they pay is that their executives are permanently subordinated to progressives and regulators.

 
Guess they were counting on the behemoth never evolving into a one-payor system per the progressive grand plan. (And didn’t care that they were making a deal with the devil 😈 )
In any event, they’re rather miffed over the new directive ~
 

“Changing the rules after health plans have already met the requirements of the law could destabilize the market and result in higher premiums for consumers,” said a skeptical statement from America’s Health Insurance Plans, the trade association for health-insurance companies.
 
“This decision continues different rules for different policies and threatens to undermine the new market, and may lead to higher premiums and market disruptions in 2014 and beyond,” said a statement from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
 
“This puts the insurance companies, who have successfully complied with the law, in a hell of a mess,” said Robert Laszewksi, a health-insurance consultant who echoes the views of insurance executives.

Just because you’re king, you can’t always expect your subjects to quietly acquiesce to your every demand.

His Highness is meeting with insurance company executives this afternoon – apparently they need to be reminded of just who’s in charge of this realm.
 

Don’t you get the feeling that the Left has been plowing their way through some master wish-list of all the things they’ve always hoped to destroy once they’d accumulated enough power? You know, all the “obstacles” standing in the way of their Progressive Utopia? More and more, that seems to be the impetus for all the damage they’re inflicting.
  

Now that the long awaited moment of fundamental transformation has arrived, the aggression factor has been ramped up and they’re attacking every one of their targets with a vengeance.
 
Long-standing American values and institutions are all under siege:
 

• marriage
• the traditional family
• Christianity
• the boy scouts

 
Anything we’ve been justifiably proud of has to go:
 
• the armed services
• entrepreneurship (you didn’t build that!)
• NASA and the space program
• our Constitution!

… an alarming 15 percent of ­­the current FDNY academy class — touted as “the most diverse in history” — has dropped out since it began July 29. By the end of the training period, even that rate could more than double.
 
That’s against a historic average of just 10 percent of probies quitting before the end of their course.

The main reason for the high drop-out rate is the older-than-average age of the trainees. As we know, “reality” is just something to be avoided at all costs by most leftists so ~

… after Judge Nicholas Garaufis declared the FDNY guilty of racism — without any real evidence — a monitor he appointed ordered the department to give priority to the black and Latino applicants screened out by the supposedly “biased” 1999 and 2002 entrance ­exams.

Yes, skin color should always trump job qualifications – especially when the lives of New York City residents are on the line. Good Lord. As Daniel Greenfield at Front Page Magazine comments ~

Shockingly enough, the kind of men who could climb to the top of the World Trade Center while it was burning, in full gear, are an elite. You can’t make them happen just because a liberal judge gives an order.

If they can’t be stopped, they’ll progressively ruin everything that’s good, decent, admirable about America; breaking eggs so society can be remade according to their twisted plans; eventual goal: equal misery for all but the elites.
