In an NRO article yesterday, Quin Hillyer asked the question “Is the Internal Revenue Service a threat to religious liberty?”
 
Unfortunately, for Christians, the answer appears to be an unequivocal “yes.”
 
Not content to bypass the Constitution by intimidating conservatives, the IRS now seeks to ignore the First Amendment and stop churches from actually practicing their faith. Under the guise of keeping “politics” out of the pulpit, the agency has determined that certain churches must be closely “monitored.”
 

This bullying action comes primarily at the instigation of the atheist group known as the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) which had filed a now-dismissed lawsuit that essentially demanded that churches be denied free speech ~

… by prohibiting clergy from making pleas for protecting religious liberty at the ballot box, FFRF would make churches the only institutions in America denied free-speech rights on their own behalf. Anybody, from any platform, including a pulpit, should be able to argue for generic support of candidates who support the freedom the speaker is utilizing. But FFRF would trample that — dare I say it — God-given right, by forbidding the church and its personnel from advocating for religious liberty.

Apparently the IRS is now fully behind the atheists’ crusade against God because they’re urging the Department of Justice to spy on conservative-leaning churches ~

According to a June 27 IRS letter to the Justice Department, 99 churches merit “high priority examination” for allegedly illegal electioneering activities.

Presumably these neo-totalitarians want to stop incendiary rhetoric such as that of Bishop Robert Morlino of the Madison, Wis., diocese in a letter he sent to his flock prior to the 2012 election which stressed the Catholic Church’s opposition to abortion and homosexual marriage ~

The letter said that “no Catholic, in good conscience,” may vote for candidates who are “pro-choice,” who support same-sex marriage, or “who would promote laws that would infringe upon our religious liberties and freedom of conscience.”

In other words, 2000 years of church doctrine is now what? Illegal?
Indeed ~

It would mean that not only that pastors could be forbidden from candidate endorsements but also that they could not even inform their congregants about the real-world tenets of their faith.

Folks, it’s not just conservatives the IRS is gunning for. Now it’s God himself.

When the crosses are gone we will have lost everything: the protection of the Constitution. Our history. Our American heritage. Our liberty. Did western civilization learn nothing from the horrors of Nazi Germany? After all, the Holocaust isn’t ancient history. There are survivors still alive today. How can it be that in western nations, and Europe in particular, we’re again seeing the ugly rise of Jew hatred?!

In just the last few weeks, as the UK Telegraph reported ~

Protesters have attacked synagogues, smashed the windows of Jewish-owned business and torched others, in scenes disturbingly reminiscent of the 1938 Kristallnacht in France. The marchers have chanted “Jews to the gas chambers”, and Jewish people have been attacked on the streets of Berlin.

Not surprisingly the Religion of Peace is behind most of these barbaric displays of intolerance. However, as is evident in Frankfurt, there remains a virulent anti-Semitic streak on the continent that somehow was never fully eradicated. And once again, the voices of sanity and restraint are too quiet, and thus far much too ineffective ~ Europe’s Jews: Unwanted, Dead or Alive.

This won’t end well…

The story of Jonah and the whale centers on the Old Testament town of Nineveh. God was displeased with the wickedness He found in that city and instructed Jonah to go and tell the people to repent. The prophet wanted nothing to do with the mission (the city was pagan – not Hebrew – and notorious for its cruelty) so he lit out in the opposite direction – by boat. Which is how he ended up in the whale… realized the error of his ways… and went off to follow God’s instructions. And the people of Nineveh heard him, believed and repented.

A statement dated from last week and purportedly issued by the Islamic State jihadist group that took over the city and large swathes of Iraq during a sweeping offensive last month warned Mosul’s Christians they should convert, pay a special tax, leave or face death.
 
“We were shocked by the distribution of a statement by the Islamic State calling on Christians to convert to Islam, or to pay unspecified tribute, or to leave their city and their homes taking only their clothes and no luggage, and that their homes would then belong to the Islamic State,” Sako said.
 
The patriarch, who is one of the most senior Christian clerics in Iraq, and residents contacted by AFP said Islamic State militants had in recent days been tagging Christian houses with the letter N for “Nassarah”, the term by which the Koran refers to Christians.
 
The statement, which was seen by AFP, said “there will be nothing for them but the sword” if Christians reject those conditions.

 
Even the Iraqi Prime Minister Condemns Jihadis’ Targeting of Christians ~

“What is being done by the Daesh terrorist gang against our Christian citizens in Ninevah province, and their aggression against the churches and houses of worship in the areas under their control reveals beyond any doubt the extremist criminal and terrorist nature of this group,” al-Maliki said in a statement released by his office, using the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group.
 
“Those people, through their crimes, are revealing their true identity and the false allegations made here and there about the existence of revolutionaries among their ranks.”

Iraq’s Christian communities date back to the first centuries of the religion. Before the 2003 U.S-led invasion, around 1 million Christians called Iraq home. But since then, the community has been a frequent target for militants, and attacks on churches, worshippers and clergymen has prompted many Christians to leave the country. Church officials now estimate the community at around 450,000.

Dr. (Sebastian) Gorka (Breitbart’s National Security Editor) explained that “in the last 48 hours, ISIS, which is now called the Islamic State in Mosul, has painted the letter “N” for Nazarene on the houses of all the surviving Christians in the city. ISIS has basically given an ultimatum to all the Christians left: You can either flee or convert to Islam, or we will kill you.”
 
Gorka points out that, over the last 20 years, America has stood up around the world to save Muslims. “Whether it was to save the Muslims in Bosnia or the Albanians, Kosovars, and Muslims in Serbia, it is now time for a humanitarian operation to save the remaining Christians in Iraq,” he said. “It is time for the American people and our representatives to do something for our co-religionists remaining in the Middle East.”
 
Marlow observed that the blatant religious cleansing is horrifying and asked Gorka: “Why is it that the mainstream press is not interested in the story?” Gorka first responded by saying “Let’s face it, this is a Christian version of the Holocaust and nothing less.”

Islamists are now literally purging Mosul of Christians; the city is reverting to its Old Testament heathenism. As Gorka says, this is a human tragedy that the mainstream media – and thus most Americans – are just ignoring. That this outrage is occurring with little or no opposition from the west is simply unfathomable.
